I replaced the battery in my 2009 Acura MDX that still had the original battery after 13 years. I did the battery tests including a load test. However, I was concerned about the alternator being stressed at times. I keep a battery tender on the vehicle every few months. It does not get driven daily. It had the timing belt changed recently because it timed out instead having too many miles on it. The belt still looked good but I was not about to take a chance with the interference engine. The K24, in all of it's naturally aspirated configurations, is the one of the greatest in line 4 cylinder interference engines ever designed for mass production. It is the perfect balance between performance, reliability and economy. It is at it's best in any form with a five speed manual transmission. Generationally equivalent Toyotas are non interference and can't quite deliver on sheer fun.

Do NOT get an Autozone refurbished alternator for the 2.4L VTEC. My sister visited with her 2003 CRV. I have a 2007 Accord with the same engine so I thought it was going to be a piece of cake. Not on this thing. Replacing the alternator is a total PITA. 6 hours later, I started the car and the refurbished alternator worked GREAT...for 3 minutes. Picked up a new Denzo alternator the next day. Only took me 4 hours that time. Ugh.

There’s nothing wrong with a Honda 3.5L J35 A9 Engine like my 2007 Honda Pilot EX-L 4WD with navigation. It’s got 231,000 miles on the clock. It’s got oil changes, filters changed out, tires, wheels and brakes, had my valves re adjusted and had a new engine piston head put on the car. I bought this Pilot when it had 196,000 miles and it has 231,000 miles in 2 years and 3 months so far so hopefully I get to 240,000 miles or so by the end of this year maybe but we’ll see lol. It’s been a good car. It’s got a sunroof, automatic halogen headlights with fog lights, sunroof, tinted windows, outside temperature reading, leather seats, heated seats, heated mirrors, cruise control, automatic on and off interior light, power windows and locks and mirrors and keyless entry, and it has rear separate AC in the back and also has the AC vents built into the armrest for the back seat too. And it’s 3RD row seating, navigation system, automatic climate control, Sirius XM radio, voice control, and everything else on it and I love my Pilot because it’s still going. And one last thing when you put it into reverse it has a BACK UP CAMERA 😳
