It's ok.. I've been riding like a new rider with 1-2 years experience for 15 years 😆
I love your interactions with hikers. They are great examples of trail etiquette that keeps the trails open to all of us.
Thanks. I'm a hiker too, and the future of keeping trails like these open rests on respectful trail users.
Love the format of combining your POVs with follow cams. It really shows the level of skill necesary to ride hardtails on such rough terrain.
Your buddy did one hell of a job filming you ride, which I loved since I hadn't really seen you ride before, and it makes me appreciate your reviews even more. Cheers.
I love the 7-11 part of the video
I rode hardtails for long time . I finally purchased a full squish and oh my the good life. A full squish can make you a lazy rider but easier on the body .
Thanks for content .
Syd and Macky are awesome. That's how I found your channel
Dem downs on HL r brutal enough on a Enduro bike much less a HT. Steve is no pushover excellent skill set 💪💪💪💪👍👍🧐
This.......IS THE BEST HARDTAIL MTB video ever.
Mackey not even breathing hard after 30 mi of DB Gnar unreal fitness💪🤔
Great video Steve, kudos for getting around all three trails.
Macky is a machine, can't believe he was popping no handed wheelies at the end! Crazy levels of fitness.
Indeed!
Looks like a good time. 🤘🤘
Those climbs are absolutely insane! Good riding Steve!
Big effort , well done
Great riding Macky and Steve, Those looked pretty hard trails to me and you guys killed it. The views
are gorgeous, especially that red sunset. Have a great week and be safe but party hard in the mountains.
nice riding steve. a couple take aways: you made the chutes on hangover seem like nothing! i know how sketchy that section is.. i can't believe how easy it is for you guys. also, on some of that footage from macky's pov, your lines were so well chosen. i was watching your tires snake through the most subtle slots. thanks for the video man, really enjoyed this one.
Thanks Leo. I can finally ride that trail without being nervous.
I'm am digging your hatdtail skills and knowledge . Thanks for sharing the great content ! Going to take advantage of the choice rebates down below!
Such great content Steve!!! I ride a single speed Surly Pugsley and Surly Wednesday fatbikes all 4 seasons up here in Ontario Canada. So refreshing to see what you do on hardtails love the channel!!!
That looked brutal.....did you shake any fillings loose?
Seriously awesome to watch. Love the enthusiasm. Its great to see people doing what they love.
How much fun was that😮🙌
Excellent contact Thank You Patreon on its way
Your attitude and skillz are really inspiring Steve! Keep up the good work on your channel!
Thanks so much Joseph.
Major props for still jumping and even the track stand so far into that ride. Long rides I'll hit a point where I have absolutely no shame walking up the steeps.
And sometimes even the not so steeps.
All I can say is wow!!
Well done sir! Studs🤘🏻
Nice job 👍🏽
Great video Steve. Watching you ride from Macky’s perspective was an eye opener as to how much you move around the bike and how you position yourself. More follow cam views would be great when possible. Also, it’s awesome to hear two great riders complete each other on their skills and riding ability.
I'd love to have more follow can shots. I'll see what I can do. I add a lot of body English to my riding, which really wears me out.
Agree , I do not like sharing roads with cars. Prefer off road riding. Great filming, visually stunning.
Yeah, I found those spots on Hi Line where my bike can't make it down, at least with my current skill level. Can't wait for restrictions to lift for the next hardtail party group ride!
If I were to attempt this... I'd be reaching for my 29+ full squish 😉
Then I'd allow a whole day to do it 😁
Props to you 🤘
Awesome video! Always love ur content and your amazing to ride with. Your always so helpful when we ride together. Can’t wait until
we can ride together again!
Hopefully soon!
All my respect for maky he is very good ... saludos amigos
He really is
Doing the 3 H's tomorrow for mothers day 🤟...moms rock!!!
How sore were you afterwards?! Nice job! I'm amazed at Macky's climbing prowess!
Surprisingly not sore. Just tired at the end of the day.
Riding the paradox I just built a mullet. LOVE IT
Congrats. I love my paradox. It's a fantastic machine. My terrain isn't steep enough to warrant the merits of a mullet setup, but I"ll bet it rips on the right terrain.
I would've considered a Miata, but being on the east coast I need awd or fwd, so I bought a Cooper S. Maybe one day I'll get a proper rwd sports car, second hand. Yours must be fantastic in that area. Sedona looks like a great place to mountain bike AND drive.
Mate, you are handy on that Banshee! Some great riding in this video, but achievable skill levels (I love to lie to myself).
It's a special bike, and it excels on this terrain.
Hey steve loved this vid easy way to not have the issues of a hardtail beating you up . Never ride a dually and you think its just normal havent you heard if the front of the bike makes a section so the back will follow ha ha .
wait.. i thought macky and syd was building there bike shed?... some one escapes!! hahaha!
Steve you are 👍🏽
Some of that was scary dude haha
All 3 are scary trails.
The rock climbers might be on the real "hang-over"!
Bumble? Sound like a great name for a new bike company,...Bumble Bikes:)
I got worried at around 4:37, but good to know that you're good. By the way, how much travel did you run on the Paradox here?
I am doing black diamond trails and haven’t been biking for a month
Hey what kinda rack yall got on that miata? I've been looking at 1 up or those velocirax. Sweet video man like the good fall in the beginning 👍
It's a just transfer 2. The Miata can't handle much weight back there at all, so I went with the lightest rack I could find. I love my velicirax in the truck, but the Miata can't handle the weight.
yeah I have a camry and my girlfiend has a rav 4 so I'm debating on something we could hook up to either. Dig the velocirax design a lot though thanks man
"...have fun on your way to the trail head..." + Miata + Roundabout sounds like sideways action LOL!
Those drop-offs on the narrow trails look insane... Excellent riding Steve, inc that bumble...
How did the 29's ZIPPs handle on that ride? What tire pressure did you run?
The ZIPPs are perfect for this terrain. Best wheel I've ever used. I usually run 19-22 psi depending on conditions and tires.
@@hardtailparty ...Just about where I am at in my experimentation... 22-20psi, the higher end in the rear; this is where my Cush Core consideration begins...
Just had to watch this again , question for you Steve are these trails walking trails come mtb trails or were they made by mtbers?
Wow, amazing! You guys are both amazing riders and even though he was riding a full suspension bike, it was not an aggressive slack and longer travel enduro all mountain slayer. I agree that doing that trail on a hardtail it needs to be slack with a worthy fork. Not a XC hardtail unless your planning on walking some of those sections.
Fun video. I've only watched a few videos from Macky and his wife (Syd?). He seems like a friendly upbeat guy. Would you rather do this ride on this current bike or the titanium Middlechild? I entered to try and win the Middlechild. That would be cool to have. I have a bunch of trails I would try it on here.
They're a dead tie for my #1 hardtail right now.
That is some sketch trails Steve! Well done brother! Also, why it braking on a hard tail different then a full suspension bike?
Thanls Trevor on a full suspension the rear wheel can't track the ground and the tire is always on contact with rock. On a hardtail, the tire skips across the tips of the rocks. So you have less runner on the ground and less traction to stop. So you can't get up to a fast speeds and just slow down whenever you want. You kind of have to reign it in and never get your momentum going too fast.
@@hardtailparty That makes sense, thanks buddy. I went back and watched that fall... wow, nice save. Glad you were/are ok! I know that feeling on my dirt bike... either way, NOT fun.
5:05 somewhere around here lays a camera i believe😂
I thought he recovered it
Awesome riding! How do I get a Hardtail Party sticker? It matches my bike perfectly, and I'd love to rock one. :)
two ways:
1) become a patron (sorry, that was the easiest way for me to manage the sticker requests)
2) find me on the trail and I'll hand you some
@@hardtailparty Thanks! I wanted to let you know that my son purchased a RSD Middlechild, and we are super stoked for it to get here. Also the discount code on your website is expired. :( Let us know when you want to ride in Las Cruces, NM and we'll show you around! :)
I raced the sedona big friggin loop a few years ago on a trail/xc fs. 50 miles of techy climbs and descents between great flow. I would like get back there soon. Is the heat in the summer manageable?
No
I wonder if you can do this kind of trails with a RSD Middlechild v2 ??
See my other videos to answer that question
:)
Talk about fatigue on a hardtail; Howard Grotts’ win at Leadville this year on a hardtail. How he does that is beyond me
Those guys are not human
My wife will Never let me put a hitch on our 2016 mx5. I did see Ali Clarkson put his trials bike in the front on the way to a trials competition. It’s amazing what you can do in an mx5/Maita
Try a hidden hitch, she'll never know it's there.
14:30 according to my comment section, all you need is a $80 bike to ride high line. 🙃
well, to be fair, your video did mention riding a double black diamond on a budget bike...
what bike and suspension fork are you riding?!
Banshee paradox v3 (I have a review video of it) with a 150mm pike ultimate (my favorite fork)
I've tried that climb for professionals only.
Is that a hard dog hitch on your car? I just got another Miata
I honestly can't remember which hitch I have. I got it from good-win racing.
Why everything red!! what country are you in ?? is it Mars or what ???
This is Mars. Now you know why Elon Musk is in such a hurry to colonize it.
@@hardtailparty oh seems like you are already there before musk!!! 👍👍
@@alihassaansyed I'm always two steps ahead of Musk. He's a subscriber, stealing all my ideas.
The car color and the ground are quite the same.
