I actually like the way these boots (and coats) look on the runway. I wouldn’t want to wear them and would stare at someone wearing them down the street though.
There's nothing unusual about the look, every piece is beautiful on it's own, but cos it's oversaturated as a whole look, it looks abnormal, take each piece and wear with anything else it's a statement. LOVE THIS. We need more of it.
I grew up 20 min from Porterville! It’s actually in the San Joaquin Valley of California - a desert/Mediterranean climate turned agricultural area through tons of irrigation. So not too cold (winter rests around 50Fish I want to say?) But I love the idea of the collection repping the complex emotional state of growing up in a deeply conservative area of California, as another commenter said. I never would have thought about where I grew up in this way and I love it.

I love those covered jackets, for Siberia or Norway, when the wind and snow are straight in your face from all directions, people will be very much thankful for it

Porterville was always sketchy to me (sounds snobby I know), and it's not a town where you'd think a famous person would be from! I wonder how he grew up, if he was poor, what he feels about this place! There are a lot of really small towns in the San Joaquin Valley in California and they're primarily farming and ag industry towns. Porterville is a town run by a lot of super Conservative old guys who own the land and run the industry, but it's a melting pot with a huge Hispanic population too. The intersection is super interesting.
People who are out of reach and wear these avant-garde designs in public are hilarious, have seen so many of them falling because of those clear heeled Chelsea boots and you best believe I laughed in their face each time it happened.
