    I just want to say thank you. I have anxiety, and I've had a recent flare up. I used all my energy to put on a brave face and continue my day to day life, so when it came to household chores, well, they suffered immensely. My house got so overwhelmingly disgusting that I just didn't know where to start, which made my anxiety worse. I came across your awesome videos, some of which I binge watched multiple times - so thanks to you, I got my home back to a pristine level, and am finally feeling so much better again.

      As a writer, this is key for me. Perfectionism is the death of all writing. I’m trying to not shoot for perfect, but perfectly acceptable, and I can go from there. An idea is of no use if it lives only between my ears. I could have the next huge book in my head and no one, including me, would know if it never escapes onto the page. Perfectionism is a horrible trait for so many reasons. 😖

    • @KathyHussey063
      @KathyHussey063 Před 4 lety +2

      @@SunflowerSpotlight Jeez, I'm a writer too and your comment, if I didn't know better, I would think I'd written it. Same problem here; how do I relax enough to concentrate on writing, to let my mind get into and stay in that flow state it gets into when I'm into writing, when my to do list is NEVER EVER finished or even close to finished? I used to think when my kids all left home I'd finally have time to do some of the things I wanted to do. But now, although I've a lot less work to do, my age, health and being slower all around mean I'm still up to my neck in it. I try to force myself to keep some kind of schedule for writing but that ability appears to have gone the same route my quickness did ....away from me. lol. I need to figure this out .

    My mother taught me how to iron. She ironed everything; I toned that down a bit. Still, it's a lot of work. When I got really ill, I wasn't able to do any ironing at all. So things were just folded and put in the closests. To my amazement, almost all the wrinkles would be out of clothes after 15 minutes of wearing them! The body warmth and movement did the trick. Never ironed a T-Shirt or jeans again. Saved me tons of work. Sharing to help you save time too.

      That's why there's such a big meth problem among working wives and mothers. Unless you're very young, and energetic, too, you can't do it if you have a family AND a job. The Flylady method helps, but even she isn't mentally geared for people who have too little time and/or energy and she has no sympathy for it. I was rather shocked at her response to a lady on Facebook; Flylady has zero interest in anyone but stay-at-home women who are just too depressed or discouraged to clean. She says she just wants people to get out of their chairs and move, but what about those of us who do too MUCH moving? We're left twisting in the wind.

    I’ve worked as a maid for the past 5 years and I can clean any of our hotel rooms in 10 minutes. That includes stripping the bed, making it, setting out fresh towels and amenities, wiping all the surfaces, taking out the garbage and replacing the bag and sweeping. All that in 10 minutes. The key is that the rooms are rarely that dirty to begin with and there is no clutter. Whenever their are spills that have hardened on or forgotten items we have to put away it takes twice as long

      You must have a better quality clientele than the average motel. I worked as maid in a local motel; the mess people make is astonishing, but they do it because they don't care. Pizza boxes and used condoms under the bed, hair everywhere, women dying their hair in the bathroom, old guys leaving toilets full of blood and poop splashes. I could do a 2-bed room in 15 to 20 minutes, but that included a full cleaning of the bathtub and tiles and a deep clean of the toilet. I still missed a used condom under a bed once, but we weren't issued flashlights.

      Gratefulness goes such a long way. Like, I used to have really bad mental health issues (I mean, I still have them I just manage it much better and feel much better these days) and addiction and things. And I found that making lists of what you're grateful for every day (or week, as much as needed) or thanking God - if you believe, I do, but I know not everyone does - for things every day can REALLY make a massive difference in how you feel. I even thank God and add to those lists things that wouldn't seem like good things. Like, certain struggles and challenges I still put on the list because, most of those things make you stronger or teach you something, so you can even find ways to be grateful for hard stuff.
      Maybe you don't need this advice, but maybe you do, so I thought I'd put it here in case it would help you out, or anyone else that reads it. :) Merry Christmas.

I appreciate the different outlook you offered as well. I do have a very beautifully designed home & you're right, so many ppl don't get to live in the style & beauty that I get to live in. So many ppl don't even know how to decorate their home like I can & I should feel blessed to be able to clean it & enjoy it rather than take it for granted. I really appreciate you offering that mindset. That's big for me. I had the idea to get into a habit of cleaning of doing 5 mins of cleaning for every hour that Im home. I work from home so it would be a nice break from the computer for me & I could make it fun with music for the kids too. Like a quick Cleaning Party every hour.
