I totally agree with your assessment. Overpriced, too heavy, battery strength lacking, awkward. I'm returning mine for a refund!
"I do not feel like this thing has enough power on Max"
I do not feel like you give this vaccuum and honest, no judgement review. Everything you mentioned literally had a negative spin on it.
Yes this review was particularly negative because the machine was particularly bad. Especially for the $600 price tag on the machine at the time of filming.
This might be one of the only honest reviews about the machine out there.
Feel free to check out some reviews of better products.
@@PerformanceReviews it s the truth! I cannot believe how gullible folks are that actually buy Dyson idk how they can actually use the if they die on you in 6 min even after charging overnight. What a rip off of a company! Why are so many reviews saying lies???! Ugh! Dyson is the worst vac ever!!
@Hello Everyone I returned it! Period! It's not worth the money if it only lasts 6 minutes and must be charged 5 hours or so. WTHeck! Misleading company!!
Cheers. The parts where you were doing the stairs has guilt-ed me into vacuuming mine.
Read the manual. You don’t get 60 minutes runtime with a powered head and it has to be in low.
Did you complain about the bulkiness and weight and then compare to a heavier and larger push vacuum?
@Karen Brinkley upright vacuum
How did this vacuum do on the particle tester? Thanks for the honest review.
Great, solid critical review. You sold me on staying with the cord. Thanks for all the good info.
Thanks!
I’ve already seen these broken around some with blow motors and broken parts
I bought this because I have a hand held one that was great. the stick one is great too. it is great on tile! seriously the next best thing. i am OBSSESED.
Very so so performance compared to the competitors especially on hard floors.
The moment were you dropped The Hoover made me subscribe and almost fall of my chair laughing 👌👌👌
I have one of the older models, V6 motorhead. I bought it December 2017 and then by summer it just died and diagnostics I guess showed that it was the motor. So Dyson sent me a replacement right away and I was asked to mail the main unit back but I kept the stick, the charging station, all the attachment and the brush. It has been now 4 years since the replacement and I had no issues except I replaced a battery with a knock off one from Amazon and I again get 30 min out of it. I basically use it as my main vacuum because I only have a few area rugs and I prefer to wash the floors. Maybe it is not the greatest one out there but the bin gets full so it definitely picks up a lot of dust. My husband won't vacuum any other way because of cords and outlets.
Do an air particle test on this thing!!!
What would you recommend instead? I’m not looking to replace my Kirby, I just want something for quick clean ups on laminate floor only for a small house
Definitely take a look at the C1/C2 series of vacuum for Miele
Ive cleaned a few of the cleaner heads for that machine and the main problem is where the brushes flick the dirt. That little channel gets full of stuff and once its all clogged everything just goes downhill from there. The purple squeegee also piece gets full of dust and a lot of dirt gets into the inside of the brush roll. The red little bristles seem to hold up pretty well but the black carbon fibre brushes don’t really last too long.
You think it’s heavy? I think this is the farthest thing from heavy.
Compared to most vacuums yes. Compared to pickup a motorcycle no .
Do you give recommendations on central vacs? I have about 1800 square ft, mostly hardwood or tile. I have maybe 500 sq ft of Afghan rugs. looking to spend around $1-2k, install myself, any recommendations?
I think the MD bagged units are the way to go.
I have the dyson v10 absolute cordless and mine came with 2 large heads. Same one as you and a fluffy head for larger mess and hard floors. I'm in Wales in the U.K.
Jo H who cares?
John Marston He does
Motion Sickness from putting camera on the unit versus on you.
Nice review. Dyson should disclose in their advertising that the V series of cleaners, because they do not come with a suction-only head, are not suitable for certain types of carpets. (They do mention this in their instruction manual.) Loop pile carpet (berber, sisal, etc.) with a powered brush roll head can have it that the tops of the loops are gradually worn down, where you can gather a considerable amount of carpet fibre mixed in with the dirt and dust in the bin. Loop pile warnings are well-documented on carpet manufacturer websites. Dave, Australia.
I can't believe the prices dyson wants for these!!! Your better off with a SEBO Felix or a newer Oreck for if someone wants a lightweight machine.
Did i hear correctly in the first clip: does it make a weird springy "boing" noise after running? I just bought one and was surprised to hear this strange sound. I had an older model that lasted 7 years and it did not make this sound. But it might be normal?
Yeah it makes a horrible sound welcome to Dyson.
if you aren't recommending it or other vacuums in other videos can you share which ones you do recommend
I recommend plenty of vacuum is on my channel take a look.
I switched off after you compared the size of this vacuum cleaner to a hand held power drill.
Bought this today returning it tomorrow. It lasted 6 min after charging 3 hours! Also did not do a good job cleaning the fan blades in the ceiling fan.
Told you so 🤣😁
What about the brand Prolux? What’s your experience with them?
Chinese stuff for to munch
@@PerformanceReviews Interesting. I just heard about them today in a “Made in USA” Facebook group claiming that they were assembled in America with mostly American parts. Perhaps it was just one model in particular.
Nah man that shit is straight from China. Absolutely no US manufacturing. Also who the hell still has a Facebook account?
Dyson is also a British company and their products are designed for British homes, hence why they are not oversized like US machines, just something to bare in mind.
I do agree though, they are overpriced for what they are. I have had my V10 for 3 months now (review on my channel) and I have found it heavy and inconvenient for above floor cleaning but for running around with it on the carpets and hard floors it is very useful.
I liked your review, thanks for posting.
yes I saw your review good stuff! Our homes are not oversized.
NumaticVacuum Well Dyson rave about how good their products are in the US to consumers, so it should do what they claim it should do.
Great. If they build cars with the steering wheel on the right side, they can use the same excuse. And if they open Dyson pubs, they can let the hooligans drunk on Guinness spill out onto the street and tell the cops their British. Haha
Lumwilliam lumwilliam. They’re*
@@NumaticVacuum lolol
Hi , I totally agree with your opinion about this V10: makes the job but with a lot of defects !. I have one and I just add this comment about the battery:
The first great problem with all these Dyson cordless cleaners is that only one line of cells in series for so many output/amps is a huge weakness. Max power kills quickly the good cells...and very quickly the chinese cells. All discharge amps are at the upper limit . Changing 18650 for 21700 is a poor solution . Lithium cells don't support a long time a full discharge in 10 mns
The best would be to propose also batteries with minimum 2 cells lines in // : much longer worktime and first of all much longer lifetime (like for good power drills batteries)...but commercially totally uninteresting...And if you add a BMS which locks down immediately (normal) but DEFINITIVELY (not normal) with a simple little voltage or balance issue , it's a shame ! .....But James Dyson is a clever seller .
Excuse me for my approximative english, Michel.
Is there anyway i can use the motor head attachments using a powersupply or some sort. Im planning to use it with my central vacuum in the future. I have 0 experience in electronics but i know somebody.
Great review! Costco's version of the V10 Total Clean + isn't a deluxe model. It's a stripped down motorhead model with bigger bin. No soft fluffy head floor cleaner. Previous V8 Total Clean + sold by Costco had every tool the absolute model had plus a few extra attachments. The animal V7 and V8 at Costco has more accessories. In the UK, Total Clean = every attachment most deluxe model. Major marketing fail / false advertising using the "Total Clean +" designation for a motorhead model. Lots of pissed off people on the internet about this. check out the dyson UK site and you will see how the models rank where Total Clean is the best.
There all junk
Dyson is the best
It's not designed to clean a whole house, just like your cell phone isn't designed to last all week without recharging it. It's all about trade offs. You should get a vacuum that has removable batteries and have a few extra. I'm a carpenter and most high drainage cordless power tools don't last that long but still better than working with cords. It does bug me that Dyson did not go that route.
You can get an adapter for previous tools, a bare floor tool is available and no Dyson was ever made in China. I do however prefer the ergonomics of previous machines.
Dyson made their hand held their and fans/heaters in China
Performance Reviews I’ve never seen any generation of any Dyson product that says ‘made in China.’ All I’ve seen is ‘made in UK’ (I wish they still were🙁), then switched to ‘made in Malaysia’ in 2003ish.
Qasim Mir Made Malaysia and Philippines
Great review. Extremely detailed. Well done!
How is this the same price as the miele compact series
I don't know but I would rather have a C2 or C1 for that price .
Just one point here about where Dysons are made - no Dyson I have ever owned has said "Made in China" on it. Both my V6 and V8 cordless models are made in Malaysia. I dont think Dyson even has a factory in China. He used to make all his machines in the UK until 2002, when he transferred all production to Malaysia, so Dysons are Malaysian vacuums, not Chinese. TTI is a Chinese manufacturer, and Shark are made in China, as are most other manufacturer's vacuums these days, even Bosch make their latest stick vacuums in China. Great review though, and interesting how, when people have bought the machines themselves, a more "frank" review is produced. Dyson is very clever, and Shark do the same too, in that they give out free machines to those who they know will sing the praises for the machines, and not criticise them, as they know they wont get more freebies if they do. All these "reviews" on CZcams now are simply "paid" or "sponsored" reviews done by people who get the products free of charge, and I'm sick of seeing them. Dyson have been giving out free V10's to those youtubers who have hundreds of thousands of subscribers, or even over a million subscribers, so these biassed and overly positive reviews get watched over a million times, and people all think the V10 is the dogs bollocks, when in fact, its far from it. Shark are just as bad, they give out free machines to those who they know will kiss their arses and give good video reviews, conveniently ignoring any bad points about the machines.
MadAboutHoovers Its the battery chargers that say Made In China. You are correct what you say about Dyson giving out V10s for biased reviews. It shouldn't be allowed!
Agree. I watch tech channels and a lot of the tech reviewers did the V10 when it first came out. Watching a millennial tech reviewer asses the pros and cons of a vacuum is laughable. Clearly, they have no interest in vacuums or vacuuming.
I wonder if Dyson even has a factory in Malaysia. A lot of times, companies will contract construction out to 3rd party manufacturing. Made in China is not necessarily a bad thing. Anyone old enough to have lived through the 60's will remember how maligned the 'Made in Japan' label was. And look how that turned out. The Chinese are smart, ambitious people and if they can make money producing high quality products, they'll figure out how to do it. In fact, they already have. Apple does a lot of contract manufacturing in China.
I dunno where you are, but here in the US we have the torque head while y'all have the v8 head. So we have a better cleaning head than y'all do
Mr Scowl Face I think his was a Costco special variation, I’m guessing they included the older style brush to make it a price Costco is willing to sell for.
James Goodman yeah makes sense
No matter how you look at it you will have to deal with a cord or changing out batteries. I prefer a corded bagged vacuum Sebo/Miele/Vorwerk. I have a 3000 square foot house so this baby vac just won't cut it.
Goodluck plugging the sucker in every damn 3 minutes
@@stormtraders some cords are 15 meters, more than enough for 2 rooms
Won’t dirt from the disgusting bin emptying procedure get on the electrical contacts (as they are located in the middle of the bin door), leading them to failure? Also, where is the pre motor filter?
It was attached to the post motor filter. They come out as 1
No
Difference between animal and absolute ?
Attachments. Wouldn't recommend either here in the US as you still have to buy a separate hard floor attachment
what's a good cordless vacuum for a 1 bedroom condo?
You have a one-bedroom you probably just want to stick with one good plug-in vacuum . I would imagine you won't have room for two machines?
@@PerformanceReviews Just one is fine lol. Any midrange plug-ins you recommend in particular?
What's the flooring situation like?
@@PerformanceReviews Mostly hardwood. a couple area rugs
@@PerformanceReviews I'd also love an answer to this question. Are there any cordless/stick vacuums you recommend? For a small apartment with hardwoods I think convenience is more important than power.
You really don't want to measure the airflow of this. Suction is just ok, but airflow is... well not what you would want to publish in the youtube.
The V10 is Made In Phillipines and the others Made In Malaysia. Only the Charger is Made In China.
23:10 HAH! 😂 When he opened the bin with the wand on and was like, “I might have just broken it”- that was historical. But honestly I wish he would have broken it- this (and most) dyson machines are plastic Malaysian crap. For the money, I’d go for a Miele canister (c1 or c2) with a powerhead, or maybe if there was a Sebo E or K series machine on sale (pretty rare, but still possible). A saying I always go by (and usually works) is, “a good vacuum isn’t cheap and a cheap vacuum isn’t good”. Somehow dyson has made a vacuum that is both not good and not cheap! It’s amazing!😂
Hey, which cordless one do you suggest for carpet floors?
I have an Amazon store as well with a few more but this is the best carpet cordless machine out there
czcams.com/video/S7GAoFtTVw4/video.html
This vacuum is the biggest piece of garbage on the planet. I have a 1 bedroom apartment and a dog and bird and constantly cleaning. I charge it fully all the time and it dies so quick I hate it.
Returning mine first thing in the morning!! 1000% agree with you!
Buyer beware. This vacuum on boost mode lasts only 4 mins and 40 seconds. I have to break up my vacuuming for a 1 bedroom apartment in to 4 sessions. RIDICULOUS
The reason for Dysons move to development in cordless machines is because the EU legislation for corded vacuums limits them very, VERY much as to what they can do and as most of their market is the EU Dyson have to do what is profitable.
Dyson has a huge Market in China right now . Curious to see if that will be the dominant market now?
NumaticVacuum I doubt that very much. Vacuums always used to be 1000 watt or lower back in the 90s. Dyson are trying to get round the legislation with the cordless range and also they are so much cheaper to manufacture, yet they charge ridiculous prices but only give a 2 year warranty. Because they can. A SEBO Felix is only 700 watts, yet the performance is first class.
Seems like the V10 series have completely bombed, they are already seriously discounted. Airflow on low is 15 AW, 15 AW! That’s like what a person could do sucking through a straw. And don’t get the V7 series, they increased battery life by REDUCING the suction power, so it’s less than the V6 was
Just bought the V7, picks up fine on low setting and not too powerful for delicate dusting. Good versatile lightweight all-rounder.
On low idiot
We like it alot
So again, why not to buy? Because you don't know how to use it? OK. There is also soft roller for hard surface, it works so much better.
The animal version does not come with the soft roller tool
Whoever would pay more than $250 for this thing is high as a kite. It's decent for quick touch-ups (like a stick vac SHOULD be) but there's no way in hell I'd replace my Panasonic with this as my primary machine, especially since the Absolute version goes for *$700.* Hell, a secondhand V6 won't run you more than $200 on Ebay, so this new lineup of Dyson cordless is just a waste.
If your so clever why don’t you ask Dyson for a job 😁
I've turned down two job offers from them 🤣😂
You wish
I wonder why you use this vacuum as heavy duty tool? It’s designed for light quick swipe. Maybe for your carpets you should use Rigid contractor 4 HPower commercial vacuum… seriously. I have 7.000sqr ft house and after first clean I have less dust/ dirt inside vacuum than you on your video. .Im crazy about cleaning and dust.
You're absolutely correct that it's designed for quick pickups but it was marketed very differently the time of filming. "Can replace a full size vacuum" for the claims at the time.
I've never heard of a "7.0 Square foot house" that's tiny I can't imagine living in such a small space.
The production quality of this video is pretty bad I would encourage you to take a look at some of the more modern content. Like the V11 review or central vacuum reviews.
would not pay that for dyson take a filter queen rebuilt any day
This has got to be the most biased un-objective review I've ever seen.
If you don't like Dyson, that's fine, just don't review their products if you hate them so much.
It's not hard to see why you have more dislikes than likes.
Are you upset because your purchase wasn't validated? There's really nothing to like here.
Totally agree why did he even bother
Not worth the rape price dyson is selling them for. Best deal is animal2 for 299 plus 125 gift card back
Bulky but small bin😀😀
You are not consekvent in your comments.😁
Dyson is best stop comparing to shitty hover
Nope

DYSON OVERPRICED PIECE OF CRAP. IMAGINE MY SHOCK. SO WHAT'S YOUR VACUUM OF CHOICE ? BECAUSE I KNOW U DON'T LIKE THE BEST VAC ON THE MARKET WHICH IS THE KIRBY. GREAT VAC VIDEO AS USUAL PERFORMANCE REVIEWS.
DirtDog miele probably
DirtDog kirbys may be awesome but not practical in a modern house hold setting. I don't even like having to switch over the use attachment. A Miele, sebo, or riccar are the best vacuums on the market.
👏👏👏👏
Evil vacuum man I LIKE THE RICCAR WHICH IS ALSO AMERICAN, BUT I'LL STICK WITH MY AMERICAN MADE, AND AMERICAN SOLD VACUUM. I HAVE NO PROBLEM USING THE KIRBY FOR ANY, AND ALL INTENDED PURPOSES. HEY IF U WANT TO USE A FOREIGN MADE VACUUM THAT DOESN'T CLEAN AS WELL, OR LAST AS LONG THAT'S YOUR CHOICE.
DirtDog there is a video on vacuumtest channel the he compares a dyson, sebo and Kirby. The sebo out performs them both by quite a lot. This proves that some clean air machines are getting to a point where they perform as good or better then direct air machines. I think it's time for manufacturers to move onto a clean air system. Sanitaire used to be really great commercial machines but they aren't any more. I started working at a vac shop a couple of weeks ago and we get almost 1 sanitaire a day with a bad motor in it. There are manufacturers that make really good commercial machines like sebo that are just better in every way.
Your tone is so condescending and your views are excessively unfair.
Here's the truth it's a bad vacuum. If that hurts your feelings not my problem😂🤣
@@PerformanceReviews doesn't change the fact that you're patronising. You can be legally sued for these utterly rubbish feedback.
No that's protected under the first amendment here in America. Everything I said in the video is true. Wait till you see the v 11 review that's been up for over a year. You're going to have an aneurysm
@@PerformanceReviews you spoke the truth and for those that don't believe it for sure have never purchased a $600 Dyson like myself! I wish I had seen your video before I had gone to Best Buy to buy it. Ugh!!!
The trigger design on Dyson is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. I can not believe that people pay an arm and a leg for such stupid design. I found a Dyson in the alley and I took it home. It workes fine but I couldn't believe that the trigger was design in such a stupid way. I really thought that it was broken and that's why it was thrown away. I was shocked to find out that actually that's how the trigger works. I couldn't use that vacuum because by finger will go numb after few minutes of holding the trigger... so back into the alley it went... for someone who really doesn't mind holding that trigger for the duration of vacuuming a small room.
Yeah bullshit
Sounds like a big time lie to me don't you have anything else to do
This thing is just one big design fail. Bulky, shitty battery life, and no interchangeable tools. At least not as big of a failure as the dyson cinetic.
Rick Hoover It does have interchangeable tools though. But yes waaay too bulky.
The battery change requires a screwdriver therefore is not considered user changeable
Performance Reviews That’s not what we’re talking about, we’re talking about the tools and how they are interchangeable with previous generations. If you going to change the subject though, you’d be right. It’d be way better if Dyson’s sticks had a clip on battery with a spare.
Qasim Mir the older Dyson handhelds did have push to remove batteries. Dyson’s reasoning to make it more securely attached was because they didn’t really see many consumers buying multiple batteries for the purpose of extending run time IIRC. Also even with the screw removed the battery stays pretty snug, you could probably DIY a few battery packs with some Velcro and swap them out as needed.
As for charging you could probably use a high wattage hobby charger to charge a few packs at a time.
What would you recommend? I need something for kitchen.
British are (and always will be) notorious with the pretense of being superior. But there is absolutely nothing they do or say is that isn't blatantly a ploy, a scam, a bluff, a cheat, a rip off, dishonesty and deceive is imprinted in their DNA and even a life style. Their History teaches this.
Whenever I intend to buy something, I read or watch all the negative reviews first, because are the ones you can trust the most. It’s simple: who has the interest to disseminate peculiarities if he/she isn't a comedian or a politician?
Should you need an honest opinion on vacuum cleaners you found it here.
