Good that Ben wasn’t there. Lola deserved to go peacefully and not having to deal with the man-child that is now Ben. All he did was cause he stress during her finals weeks. He’s selfish
i know no one from the show will ever see this but i want to just say everyone who was a part of this storyline was amazing and a credit to their craft i lost my sister to cancer last august so this hit very close to home for me but as much as it hurt to relive everything by watching this it was good to see that even though its an awful and heartbreaking situation to be in it was treated with the respect and the sensitivity it deserved
Billy smashed a shop and had to be bailed out of jail or would have missed it, Lola's mom is just gone again without decency... Ben is an idiot, but far from the only one...
Ok i can understand that jay was angry for ben not being there but in all fairness he left beacuse he wanted to help lola get better i agree it was wrong he left but still he is also grieving too for lola jay should kinda give him a break but i understand why he was mad at ben
No he shouldn’t because this isn’t about Ben. He left his brother, daughter and daughter mother to die. After he fucked off to the US he’s a coward. And deserves everything that’s coming at him
Because Ben had been told over and over again there was nothing more to do....and he refused to listen....as usual. He just goes off on a tangent and now it's too late .And yes, Jay does have a right to be mad at Ben because Lexi needed her dad and once again, he wasn't there for her...and Jay was...again.That may sound harsh, but it's the truth. Ben is always worried about number one first (himself) and everyone else comes second and that comes from Kathy and Phil (as well as Peggy) spoiling Ben while he was growing up. It's time for Ben to man up......we all knew this was going to happen...and now Ben will feel sorry for himself again, and go off the rails when his daughter needs him the most.....and who will be there for her?? Jay. And some of you wonder why Lola was so insistent that Jay legally be part of Lexi's life after she was gone.....she knew Ben all too well.
Everyone handle's things differently I was with my step dad until the very end and how I saw how sometimes he suffered,since he passed away 2 months ago my mental health as been so bad I can't sleep I have awful panic attacks I'm just trying to survive each day so I can see it from both sides how I'll it's made me I think there is no right or wrong just always every day say them (3) important words I LOVE YOU .
Was this written originally with like, Ben & Callum still being broken up? Cause I swear he just disappears from this episode. No trying to go with Ben, no going to console Lexi. Jesus writers, they're husbands again. And Callum would have been there regardless considering he's Lexi's stepdad.
Ben only wanted to help Lola his heart was in the right place. Ok he should of been there but I think he was in total denial and just wanted to help Lola live longer.
In experience, theres nothing anyone could do with someone with a terminal illness. Being there is number one. Everyone was there for Lola apart from Ben and her mum. Ben broke his promise and was a coward for not being there for his daughter, and her mum didn't care anyway. Jay had every right to say what he said.
@@Bruced82 Yeah, all of the people criticizing Ben while giving Billy a pass are being disingenuous. The only reason Billy was able to be there was because other people ran around cleaning up after him. He would have broken his promise, too, but instead he's standing around judging Ben while getting a pass.

He convinced himself he could help extend Lola’s life for his daughter and let that cloud his judgment. He only said he doesn’t read Honey’s texts in the group chat so didn’t know about the baptism. There was zero mention that someone put “Lola is dying today” in the group chat. Billy isn’t the only one allowed to grieve.
Ben needs to have a reality check. For him to think the doctors could have done something and for him to say that in front of Billy and Jay and Kathy. I don't blame Billy. I thought Billy was going to hit Ben right there.

What is Callum purpose here? Callum isn't a part of the storyline. His only purpose is to Ben sidekick. It was so disappointing yesterday to see Callum all alone in the pub. Everyone else has friends except him. The character has limited screentime and disappears. Callum has no life or friends of his own. This whole Lola storyline every member of Mitchell family has a role except Callum. Even Phil in the previous episode reflected on how he treated Lola. Even Honey has a prominent role in this storyline except Callum. This doesn't look good for the character if he is just Ben husband. It is really disappointing the lack of screentime Callum gets.
as Bens husband Callum does have a role as Lexi's Step-Father .. but I do agree his part now in EE is very limited 😢 It was far better when he was behind the bar and had some funny times😅before joining the Police with not a lot to do and without his previous good humour❤

I don't mean to nit pick. But it wasn't for a cure, it was just for a better medicine/treatment trial so lola would live a little bit longer.

I can understand everyone’s reactions to be fair, Ben was in the wrong for leaving but he was desperate, jays grieving it’s awful for everyone

They really don't have much for him to do. Every storyline they give him where he exists outside of Ben doesn't seem to last long.
