    While doing the 'No Talking' Cut I realized that I messed up some numbers (again!), the following patches are actually:
    3:32 7.6 ME Tzone
    4:23 6.5 SE Emgsy
    5:33 6.7 GoUp!

    One of the few really cool synths you can still get for $300 or under. Just grabbed one. Thanks for this very cool demo.

    My SY35 get sampled here & there for nice effect. I’m going to check out the Ctrlr program, thanks!

    Thank you for sharing! Subscribed to your channel! SlwAt (4.4) is one of my favorite patches on the SY35!

    This is a great synth! Sounds better than SY77, 55, 85, 99!

    I just bought one from an original owner (she purchased it new in December 14th, 1992, the shipping label is still on the original box that came with it), in flawless condition, with the original sustain, power supply, manual, two nice midi cables and a roland usb / midi adapter, minus a few squishy keys (it had been stored for a while in the original box wrapped in the original plastic, I plan on pulling the keybed out and cleaning the springs and relubing everything), it is literally in mint condition and every one of the keys work great, I find it odd no one ever discusses the factory EP sounds on these as I find them to be really good, I can't wait to begin programming and using mine after I do a little cleaning on the keybed!

      If you take the keyboard apart, give the keys a spin in a dishwasher, if you have one. A short while ago, I restored a Casio FZ1, manually cleaning every single key only to later learn about the dishwasher approach 🙈

      I just got one with sticky keys , all fixed now . It had nothing to do with the cleaning or stuff stuck in , the problem i found was that the metal tangs in the underside were not put in the correct way round, the metal tangs have DIFFERENT length cuts in them and have to be located in the keybed properly . It took an hour , but they all work now.

    You didnt mention some other cool features: Its a 4-osc synth, the multi-stage envelopes (a la Casio CZ), the randomize patch feature, and that its multi-timbral, oh and you can record and edit the vector joystick (basically a motion sequencer before any other synth named it) :D

      Wasn't the sy55 the first machine in the sy line to ditch the fm part entirely?

    • @torbenanschau6641
      @torbenanschau6641 Před 3 lety +2

      @@rejectedsynths Yes that is true although the TG-55 as module version was even a little bit before. It came out right along with the SY-77 while the 55 and 22 a little bit later. The TG/SY-55 were actually worse than the 22. They had filters and a litte better effects but only like not even 100 AWM2-Samples. You had 4 Elements but not much to do with it except filtering. The FM-Part was missing clearly. The SY 85 was way better.

      Sorry, I'm a ctrlr noob myself, haven't used it much myself. It's on my list for a future video though, but I guess you will have things sorted out yourself until I'm able to help you 😔
