This is close to how we do it here in Igbo land. I used to hunt them as a kid. Rats usually have an exit and entrance point in their tunnel (so I would argue the men in the video couldn't find the second point). We use lighted palm sponge to fill the entrance point with smoke while tracing the exit point (before poking around for the tunnel to rattle them out). When we find the other point, we wait with a cutlass/matchete or trap. OGs catch them with bare hands, but I never acquired that level of skills 🤣 Rat hunting is a whole package. It's one of the best memories of my childhood.
