  • I was intrigued by Tombo Unica Formal with its slider after having tried the Tombo S-50, a chromatic harmonica without the slider. The construction is very unique because the notes are arranged in piano-like fashion, the lower notes are like the white keys while the upper notes are like the black keys. I'm still at a loss in saying that it can compare with my Hohner Super 64x.

Thanks for that - excellent idea to lay out the notes more logically.

Yes, Eb song on a C harmonica. That's the purpose of a chromatic, you have all the notes and can play any song of any key, although songs with keys other than C becomes more complicated because of the number of sharps and flats. That's why most chromatics are also available in other keys so that when you play an F key song, for instance, you can play it on an F chromatic and your playing mode is like playing a C song on a C chromatic.

Vir, Are you playing in Eb on a C harmonica? I'm new to chromatics but one attraction is it would seem technically possible to play any key on a single instrument.
