      I would think the Bartesian would be better because you fill it with your own liquors, so if you put top shelf liquors in it the drinks should be better, and also you can select the strength from mocktail, light, regular and strong. I would love to see a video review of the Bartesian.

      Greed does push things forward. Just like do you have a smart watch. Most likely your greedy and to lazy to look at your phone in your pocket. Greed to want ac in homes. Greed to want cheap Walmart prices. Cheap ikea furniture. Greed of the rich only success from the greed of the rest of society. If you don’t want more out of like (greed) than someone from 1950 let alone a earlier time then all or nearly all rich people would stop making money, I want a home bar machine that does much more than this can. So I’m greedy wanting cheap drinks that are not $5-$10 each at a bar.

Though plastic eating microbes have been found out in nature naturally, they just don't break down as much as we throw out. We also don't know the ramifications of juicing a microbe so it eats faster. It could start to adapt to breaking down other things or what that might mean for the soil these things are on. There are still alot of of unanswered questions about it to go "Problem fixed! Throw yer plastic everywhere!" Reduction of plastic use is the first and best step that needs to take place. This would give time for those enzymes to break things down if they work, or other methods to be used. How bad is it right now? What is the shelf life of the cocktail pods if they have mixed drink formulations... do they go in the fridge??

    • @TheEducatedBarfly
      @TheEducatedBarfly  Před 4 lety +1

      They don't expire, but they have a "best used before" date. Kuerig says 6-9 months from production. But the Beer, yes, they also have Beer, has a 12 week shelf life. And Ciders.

    Dunno why people are hating, your rebuttals are hilarious! I actually did order one (because quarantine) but this will NEVER replace the experience of going to bars :) so much more social while I view this as a more at home “private” thing. Hope all the bartenders and service workers are hanging in there. Be strong everyone

      @@TheEducatedBarfly just saw it! Made me feel good about my purchase (not that anyone needs validation!) can’t believe something that can’t cool is even more expensive than the drinkworks! If someone made a machine that’s like the baby of the two (choose strength and alcohol brand, co2, and cooling) it would be game over for the home machines!

    I respect that you are willing to say that while the drinks don't taste like the fresh crafted version, they aren't terrible. I mean, you can buy a Mojito or Mule in a can... these are probably not significantly worse than those, right?

    You should do a comparison between drinks from the machine and adding the same volume of soda water or regular water to the packet. You can tell how much of each it adds by pouring into a two measuring cup

    I bought this and tried 11 different pods over 1 weekend. Save your money. The only cocktails I found halfway decent were the cosmo, Cuban daiquiri, and moscow mule. The others were either far too sweet, watery, or both. Most of them I didn't even finish, because they gave me an insta-headache after the first sip.

    Even if a machine could give me precisely what I wanted instantly, I pay bar prices, for a talented Bartender to give me his best. Not so hard sometimes as I'm rarely in the mood for simply a neat whiskey! But when I ask for something, not so sweet and very strong they give me the craziest things! I like the Human because of creativity. Chances are if I get what I have in mind, I can do it myself (Aberlour 16, Bushmills 10 Y. Single Malt, Tullamore Dew 12, so on and so forth). That's not fun for me. I have simple tastes, but I'll never deny there some fun stuff out there... Even for people like me who seem to like no sugar and all alcohol.

    I want big, built-in machine (like a dishwasher size) where you insert rum, gin, rye, vermouth and vodka bottles. Connect it to your water mains (It will have an ice maker), fill it with some syrups and it will make whole cocktails from scratch. No plastic waste, no hassle. Now, I'd very much like to sell such machine, since I love to do some shaking, but still.

    Keurig / Doctor pepper, is one of the largest conglomerates including 7up, Motts, Snapple, Royal Crown, and Nantucket nectar just to name a few . Id be willing to bet they make 100% of the Drinkworks cocktails in their factories. I can almost guarantee they don't outsource to any high end liquor companies, I think that explains the "sports bar" quality.
