Sutter is a street in SF that runs through the heart of the financial district, Union Square, and all the way through Folsom. It’s also the setting for the detective agency in the Maltese falcon and where my first job was when I moved to SF in 2000.
Good info. I totally thought it was named after a wine company lol
Sutter Home boxed wine😂😂😂
I've owned this bag for about a year now. It's definitely amazing quality and very utilitarian for the minimalist. I don't think I'll ever buy another sling so long as they carry the Sutter.
Waterfield Designs makes my favorite bags. They're absolutely quality. Addictive quality.
You'll probably end up with every sling they make now, even the discontinued ones that they bring back once in a while.
I looked around for the right bag for my edc to work for a long while . Came down to nut sac / alpaka / waterfield designs . Chose the waterfield designs stutter sling compact waxed canvas with chocolate leather . Added the handle and added 4 pack of chocolate leather cord clips , chocolate leather shoulder pad , chocolate leather luggage tag , and many other waterfield design bags and accessories sense then . I highly recommend waterfield designs products . I added small para cord zip pulls to all 4 zippers also . Although I carry extra mags , medical , flashlight and other tactical edc stuff in it I like the look of blending in / grey man with the brown waxed canvas and chocolate leather . High quality well made products
Bag looks nice. Definitely looking forward to the comparison video with the Nutsac sling!
I subscribed 1 month ago when you had about 56k subs...your channel is growing great...its going to explode this year. Keep up the great content
Think I just found the perfect bag I’ve been looking for. Thanks!
I have this for my 11 inch ipad, I think I've had it for 4 years? love it and it aged beautifully
I’ve had this bag for over a year. Love it! I’ve added heavy duty velcro and a velcro holster for a boomstick I carry in the front pocket. Works very well.
This was gonna be question. How that side pocket could hold.
@@noogadad
So long as you use the heavy duty Velcro, no issues! Very concealable.
I got this because of your recommendation. I love this sling. I use it for everyday use. It easily carries a slim journal, whatever current book Im reading, chargers, eye glass cleaner, a drink (gatorade etc) keys and wallet if need be. And so much more. Love it.
Let me tell you. If i didn't have to test out other gear, this could easily be my number one go to.
Very cool bag..great workmanship..definitely something that could be passed down.
X do you ever plan on making videos around your edc boomstick? Love the videos!
I’m liking this!
Thank you X!
I’m interested in that comparison video. I was leaning towards buying the nutsac sling but after seeing this it’s a tough call. I do like how you can covert the nutsac sling to a backpack vs the waterfield.
@MarineX between NutSac Sling or Waterfield for your EDC, what do you prefer? I know the Waterfield is new to the channel, curious since both are around the same price point.
Sutter was basically the guy who settled the bay. There are roads and buildings named after him. I think something todo with the rail road. I can't remember at the moment and I'm driving.
Do you have a link to those zipper pulls on your bag? They look great! Thx.
nice review. does an kindle scribe (the big) fit in this slingbag?
Good review bruh!! ? How do you clean it, and re wax it??? 💭 about snatching one up
how does the leather on the waterfield feel? Is it similar to nutsac leather that they use?
My guess: sutter as Sutter’s Mill where gold was first found in the West?
Possibly
Thanks!
Thanks much!
Got my HAZMAT suit on, ready to take down the glaze.
I’m curious how those tapped zippers hold up over time 🧐 they seem like they’d wear out with repeated use.
Can you use this as a range bag?
Let’s get back to glazing! Sir Sir😂 12:26
You already know!
Which is gonna be your reccomendation? Nut Sac or Sutterfield????
I dunno, the Nutsac sling with backpack straps is hard to beat.
I’m wanting to get a EDC bag to carry my X100VI camera if they ever send it with all the preorders…. Do you have any recommendations for a reasonably expensive small camera. I know you’re a camera guy too. Leaning towards the Peak Design smaller one at the moment
I shoot the x100v. I want the vi too
As a native of the Bay Area, i approve of this sexyness. Bet Kwok on this joint 🔥
Sutter is a street in DT SF
Gotcha
Will it hold US Letter sized stuff? I need to carry 8.5x11” books but don’t want to go up to the larger size.
I just grabbed a piece of paper off my printer and tested it for you. It went in barely
@@MarineX thank you!
Did I order the nutsac too soon? Should I have gone sutter. 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
The nutsac is awesome
I feel like I cheated on my NutSac watching this video.
So which one you like the most???🤔this or the nutsac
What mic are you using in this brotha?
The Earthworks Icon Pro
I’m still going to get SOE Products. John’s stuff is too good to pass on
How highly would you recommend this bag if you had to Pay out of Pocket?
I’d buy it
What makes this $200 bag better than a tomtoc 7L, which has more space for ~$60? Or even Alpaka slings which are still almost ~$100 cheaper than this bag? Leather is a nice material, but that price is still inflated like everyone else has commented. And factoring in having to rewax this bag, no removable strap, it's severely limited in features compared to other slings at lower price points.
Natural materials made in the USA = more expensive than plastic made overseas.
Waxed canvas from a New England factory, full grain leather from American cattle, completely hand sewn, neoprene fabric, high end zippers, pulls, and clamp. All coated. I like me some Alpaka and Tomtoc but they don’t use these materials or techniques.
@@MarineX Fair enough. Personally I don't really care if a bag is "American-made" or not, just if the bag is of a good quality and has a good amount of features.
premium materials. If you ever had a premium bag, you will instantly know the difference.
@@ascolletti yeah ive had "premium" bags that still cost less than this and have more features. That's my entire point. And that's the point of many too, why pay $200 for a small sling bag when you can pay half as much and still get a good quality bag? Doesn't matter how "premium" it is, economically there are better options.
Waxed canvas and full grain leather made in the USA for $200. Underpriced honestly.
Nice bag, but pricey
Overpriced but if they sent it to me for free I'd take it.
Great video sir.
$200 for a bag. No, thank you, I'll buy a $40 bag on Amazon and I'll probably get 3 years of use out of it. That's just crazy.
No way you can compare the workmanship of these w/ a 40 amazon factory product. You’re paying for hand-made quality and top-tier components.
Used to think the same, then I went through a bunch of crappy $20-$40 bags and now I carry quality.
if you appreciate quality and lifetime products then the investment is worth it, otherwise just go with whatever, a trash bag also works
It's still a 👛 Purse guys...😂
