Build beach properties in a game with no beaches, how exciting
And Palm trees with no topical maps.
money
@@saladinbobwdym there tropical maps on the workshop that look like Florida
how you can not have a sand brush is beyond me, CS1 again, unbelievable
@@rvgytroblox634 still without beaches or tropical assets (that arent behind 10 dollars)
4 new trees, collosal really spoiled us this time
Wait until you see urban prominades, they'll be introducing 4 new path textures and one fence type that comes in 60 different colors. It's chain-link and all the shades of grey you can imagine. Curiously, the pack will not include quays.
I think it's Paradox the one who blame
That is only 2,50 a tree! And future tropical maps are behind a paywall now. How great. :)
OMG! I can't believe Colossal Order got us a free DLC as an apology for a horrible launch, wait? 10 bucks of this?
Agreed, they should be realesing fre DLC’s left right and center the game lacks SOO MUCH content. Let alone there’s not even beaches in the game and we can’t even paint terrain. Can’t even place large rocks to form a shore. It’s insane that they are making us pay for ANYTHING extra. Fun game but super incomplete and I was hoping they were going to keep adding after launch but nope we’re just left with as base of a game as base game gets.
Now now, you know you don't have any right to criticise these special people. 😂
It's ~$6 in RU Steam
Nice fortune telling :)
@@Gesteppie hahaha thanks! LOL
Bro forgot the C in DLC💀
C is for Cost
@@RakkeyalC is for coast*
They forgot the D too. All that's left is a colossal L.
@@Rakkeyal c for content.
Update; THEY LISTENED!!! It's going to be a free pack!!! Thanks CO!
Old:
This should have been 5x bigger for $10, and have medium density, hotels, beaches, resorts, new "waterfront" policies, and the trees should have been in the base game.
Yes, the trees HAVE to be in the basegame to be able to share maps!!! I cannot describe how angry I am about this and what mess this will create. Now you'll get maps that will require a certain set of dlc's?
Then dont buy it : we havent bought the dlc for total war warhammer 3 because it was too expensive for almost no content, and with some time, CA understood the issue and decided to fix it. Sure, Colossal might not think the same way, but its worth a shot.
I agree, would have been worth the price if they included all of that
@@anonymysable easier said than done. while one could easily live without the houses. the trees are the big problem here. there will be maps created by the community that require those trees.
Or the dlc should be free for those who bought the game before the DLC was released. That way we all get it free and the devs can still make money from it.
There is not even a beach texture. what is the point.
Yes there is: if you plato out the water to land and add sand texture you can.
4 PALM TREES!!
You'll be lucky if you get natural looking palm trees - there is a very ligh change you will get neon green ones.
I bet you they will release maps in the future that require these trees and will have to download this pack to play those maps.
To taki prezent dla graczy z okazji Niedzieli Palmowej 🤣
€10 way too over priced man
Not
Yes, in CS1 you could buy a similar pack for 5 - 6 €
@@plebs3199 It most definitely. It's $10 for 32 building and some trees. No features, no impact on gameplay. It's like buying a skin in fortnite, or something.
@@jofresivilla4466Yep, the packs that actually add gameplay (like airports DLC etc) were €12. €10 is WAY overpriced for some houses and 4(!!!) trees. Why are there no gameplay elements to this pack?? Like leveling up something or whatever.
Yeah I would value the content given here as being about $2
Beach Properties without the beaches PRETTYYYYY intersecting
Are the beaches in the room with us now????
If there are beaches present with us let your self be known...
Did anyone bring the EMF meter?
It's a f*cking insult for the players
I completely agree
Hulimination casus belli. Let’s take Helsinki!
@@mrsadman2540 I think it's mostly Paradox DLC policy fault so I would say let's sack Stockholm!
I don't normally comment, but where are the beaches in this pack?
That's a separate DLC for $19.99
you can create beach via terraforming tool, but you have to do it almost on water level, on video they made it on high ground
theres plenty of CS2 screenshots / videos with beaches
Nope. Cant be done with regular terrain tools. It can be done in CS1. Without mods, even.@@Dar1usz
This better be a free thing to start saying sorry to your community.
Then again, FOUR trees? Are you sure your engine can handle that?
$10 man. Insane
They would add 5 trees but there budget was only 10$
half our of work, insane@@tankunext81
probably can't handle it honestly
@@tankunext81 They're actually so shameless to ask money for it? Jeez. Maybe that's why they didn't like mods; mods would offer a 1,000,000 times more content, all for free. Hard to sell asset packs if nobody trusts you anymore.
I feel sorry for the CO employee who has to go through these comments lol.
You think anyone at CO cares what customers think?
They will just say that they won't answer them because it's again "player toxicity"
I bought the Ultimate edition so i have this pack as part of what i paid for. That being said, it's not that i don't like the assets, but the asking price is absurd. In hopefully not too long, we'll have modded assets that do all this, for free. Plus, I don't really understand how this new category differs from already existing Low Density Residential. I could've understood if say, these buildings would ONLY grow near the water, with no suitability for them in other areas, but it seems to not be the case. Also, locking such essential trees like Palm trees behind a grotesquely high paywall is scummy, there's no way around it, and my only solace is that, once again, we'll have modded assets to make up for this. Hopefully the content coming later is better, because here, the bar is set *very* low.
@@thephantomchannel5368 it's speculation based on no reasonable amount of evidence.
Its an normal price, assets packs for CS1 been for 8-10 dollars as well and people been complaining about Paradox monetary system.
Most of them i personally purchased on steam sale, same will be with this one with -50% price tag.
5 euros seems fine for something like this.
Developer mode and asset editor in vanilla is a must as well, cause lack of cutom trees, only one type of pedestrian road etc we need more things to make our cities look more beatuful and game will be good. More options to customise city and should be ok, CS1 on release day been in same state like CS2.
Anyway after playing CS2 tried CS1 ( 1600hrs on steam ) and i cannot play it, glad they are trying to improve CS2, in future it will be a best city builder for sure :)
@@thephantomchannel5368 yeah I bet we won't have asset mods even past the next dlc.
Luckily we don't need line prop tool. It's fun placing trees hand by hand.
I will never forgive the game developers for not including this basic function in the vanilla game, forcing us to use mods for something so simple.
At least we have random tree rotation now 😂
@@JouleThief29I guess this took all the dev time 😂
Line prop tool is at least available as a mod in paradox mods now
@@maraschwartz6731 yeah, it is. A signle person did it... in his free time... without money... and it was very popular in CS:1.
Modders working alone in their basement have made more meaningful improvements to this game since launch than the actual Devs.
That was their whole plan all along I think.
To be honest that's sorta how CS:1 is now. Without mods it can be difficult and ultimately annoying
But I hope modders don't fix it for the general public
Very true. This is the first CO game I've seen at launch, and it's given me such a bad taste towards them as a company. I'm also done with Paradox. I like a lot of the game types they make, but most releases are half baked at best. It sucks, I want to play millenia, but I wont buy it.
That's sort of debatable though.
Most modders I've talked to refuse to patch the code since it's mostly unmanaged (meaning you have to write the garbage collection) and that's not easy. Majority of modders fiddle with the ECS, but that doesn't really let you.. do a lot.
It's made CS2... much less moddable the way it's structured, but it was necessary to even get CS2 to work in the first place (so many mistakes when they ran concept design on this game).
That's why there's no BepInEx or Harmony on the mod plaza.
Heck, I've even seen some of the high profile modders claim that anyone that were going to patch the game in their mods would get no downloads and no support from the modding community, which just made me sad to see such hostility.
We want to see citizens swimming in seas, tanning under sun in beaches, walking and hanging out beachside roads and cafees, we want to see more realisim
agreed. a city simulation should have more well.... simulation.
Buildings that dont even look like beach front properties and 4 trees is kinda pathetic. This should be a free update 😂
I didn't expect functioning beaches in the "asset" pack... but just low residential homes? The signatures are also just homes? And for €10? Really??? I'm glad I got the Ultimate Edition because I'd never have gotten it otherwise...
Same here.....I WASTED $89 on the Ultimate Edition!!!
Beach properties in a game that doesn’t feature the option to make beaches!
This DLC is SO expensive compared to the content packs for Cities 1, which often also added major new functionality to the game - which this doesn’t. Again, it doesn’t even let you create beaches yet!
This DLC contains only a handful of assets - and now Colossal Order are making us pay for trees that were always part of the free updates in Cities 1. This sets a worrying precedent for future Cities 2 DLCs.
Yes, the assets are pretty, and the procedural generation means there’s some variation to stop it look like you’re replicating the same building over-and-over, but in a game where there are already too few assets, this really isn’t good enough.
Especially when CO haven’t yet apologised for the terrible launch of Cities 2, or been transparent about when everything will be fixed. Now it feels like they’re squeezing fans for more money when they haven’t even delivered what they promised. Frankly, this should have been free.
Wait until this is on sale.
You shouldn't even buy this even if it was on sale
I'm extremely disappointed with CS2. The game had unimaginable potential and could've been the best city builder ever. I mean so many people were so hyped. When I saw the dev diaries last summer I was like- this is going to be an incredible game. I was literally counting down the days till launch. But then came probably one of the most tragic game releases I've seen. They completely wasted the potential of the game and keep ruining it more and more
April 1st is still a few days away guys...
These colors really expose how gray the rest of the game is.
so boring. CS1 was too cartoony at points, but many of the assets had a great balance of color and contrast.
Imagine to release a dlc to an unfinished game
Welcome to late-stage-Capitalism in gaming "industry" in 2024
Excited to place the four new palm trees in 14 fps.
Four trees?? FOUR?!?
Take my money!!!
This is so undercooked
Didn't they make it a big point a few months ago that in Cities 2, when buildings upgrade, they expand but don't completely change their appearance, unlike in Cities 1? What happened to that design pillar??
That’s not a DLC
That’s why it says Asset Pack
@@Skate771parts An asset pack with the label DLC. Go figure
because its an Downloadable Content, still it is a asset pack @@twtwtw765
guys you can read with basic understanding of topic ?
DLC should not be seen as synonymous with expansion. Anything that is downloadable is DLC.
Colossal Order don't play a number game with us. In the DLC there is 20 growable residences. 6 unique buildings you can use only once per map. Plus 4 trees, which are not even used in the new residences.
Let me remind you that property is not synonym for house. Definition of property is 'a thing or things belonging to someone'. Majority of your customers was expecting that the houses would be on the beach and that in the game we would have actual option to create a BEACH. BTW beach can be also considered as property.
The rating of the DLC on the Steam is currently 4%. In the review you can found out that the reviewers are mentioning, beaches, quality and quantity of the content for the price. On the official forum of the developer, the question about beaches was asked more than hundred times. And what is publisher and developer doing? Absolutely nothing.
I am saving this page, with my comment on it and I dare you to delete it, as it gives me/us another proof that you are censoring not just the rude comments, but the one you simply do not like.
Radical new idea: how's about you finish baking your cake before you put frosting on it
Who in marketing didn't see this backlash coming. cm'on at least price it appropriately or hire some more freelance teams to design tree assets for you
CO: "We need to postpone console release, the game ain't ready yet"
also CO: "Here's your paid DLC folks"
Screw you paradox. Give console the game and stop coddling computer gamers
I really don't like to be a Negative Nancy when it comes to video game development - as a Software Engineer myself, I completely understand why features, assets, and general game development is very difficult and how it takes time to not only develop, but also debug and playtest games, especially one as detailed in simulation as Cities: Skylines II. But there are some BAFFLING decisions made on how this game was created conceptually, and even weirder decisions before/after this game released.
I do not understand the concept of created this game from the ground up besides marketing fluff. The original Cities: Skylines was created as a response from the ruined ashes that was SimCity 2013 and Cities XL. We all saw how disastrously the launch of SimCity 2013 was, the game was unplayable for weeks because of their dumb decisions to make the game online only while not having the capacity to actually support the interest that game had. It caused all SimCity purchasers to get a free game - some even being $60 titles, where SimCity was only $40, to make up for their mistakes, and that didn't help save the game. After a single DLC, the entire development studio shut down, solely because of that games launch and how EA wanted this game to be. I feel like that was a better response then anything Colossal Order has tried to do. Honestly, SimCity 2013 wasn't even that bad, it had a lot of great things going for it, and could have easily surpassed SimCity 4 with a couple years of development! I am very very scared that this game is just gonna turn into another Anthem.
Why was this game a built from the ground up sequel? I honestly believe that every feature this game provides that's better than the original Cities: Skylines could have been a 2.0 update/title (like separate density zoning, better road tools, bigger games, the much improved progression system, parking, and simulation). This should have been a brand new release that built on everything the original had (like Cities XXL did, or CS:2 did) using the same engine, keeping everything that worked great about the original, and reworking all of the parts that weren't so perfect, and it could have even been a full priced $60 game with not many complaints from the community. We understand just how above the mark the original was compared to competition. This would have allowed for importing previous assets into new assets under the paradox mods manager, bolstering the amount of content this game had on release day. You could used the original Cities: Skylines DLC as a jumping off point for Cities: Skylines II DLC so we could have gotten content faster, because some of those DLC's weren't perfect and could have been retooled/reworked to make them better for a future DLC (Hotels and Banks could easily be a more interictal part of the simulation). You wouldn't have to worry about optimization so much because we already had a console release of Cities: Skylines 1.
With that all said, none of that potential matters now, what's done is done and now we have a built-from-the-ground-up sequel that floundered on release, and where the original game is now catabolizing the potential players of the sequel because the original was just that good. I'm glad the games optimization is improving, especially on lower end hardware, for lower end builds and the future console release. Its pretty laughable that the console release of the game will probably be multiple years detached from the PC release when their goal was to release them simultaneously, but I digress. I'm glad that we're finally getting new content 5 months after release, because the assets in this game are beautiful, and the simulation is better than the original (minus the bugs, of course). I'm super glad that we have official code mod support, and how the documentation of how to mod being so clear, I cant wait to toy around in Visual Studio and make some code mods for myself. I cannot wait until even more of the DLC assets are out, and when the asset mods become a reality, because that's when the floodgates are really gonna open for this game. At that point is when this game will be better than the original. Please support this game for a decade, and when the eventual Cities: Skylines 3 comes out, please please PLEASE have a 3.0 game update philosophy. I'm sure there are going to be mistakes made in the DLC for this game, and having a re-evaluation and rework of those mistakes while keeping everything that's already good about this game would make for the best City Building game possible. There won't be a real reason to ever have a built-from-the-ground up game again, at least for the next few console generations.
Good thing they released this before fixing their game. This way I won't be able to enjoy it.
Along with Beach Properties we also have a round of performance improvements & bug fixes rolling out with the Modding Wavelet Patch!

Release the trees seperate!
And tripple the houses with more content like the hotels update in CS1 for 10$!
This would have been fine for 3 or 4 bucks but 10 dollars is insulting, especially considering the current state of the game… what a joke
It had to be $10 because the next Delux DLC will be a huge disappointment as well. If they sell this dlc too cheap, people paid more for the Deluxe edition than buying the stuff individually. They literally can't sell it cheaper.

Im happy to see some new stuff and excited to see what else is coming. Yet I agree, missing beach parks, policies, other beachfront buildings like resorts, polices, public spaces, commercial... I mean, has anyone there been to a tropical place?

While we're waiting for a massive pack of custom assets (8 region packs with 2500+ assets) from great asset creators that was announced to be free, seeing such architecturaly blunt, generic (in a bad way) buildings offered for a €10 is an insult to these content creators. Especially in the light of how C:SII recent events were taking place...
wow you guys really like making things harder and harder for yourselves dont you. its like someone pressed a self destruct button in the company
I never thought they went south this much. Every update made me feel more untempted…
that looks nice... wait, where's the sand?
Unfortunately the DLC was made by Anakin.
You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
The trailer is bigger than the contentpack itself
Dude? A beach DCL without beach stuff? This is SO bruh. I feel bad for buying CS2.
What's with all the negativity?! When CS3 comes out, it'll be $10 for just those 4 trees! We should be happy CO gave us as much as they did!
/s
$10 per tree.... they're nice trees...
The buildings look really beautiful and seem like they would blend in nicely with the existing assets! However, I'm confused about why they belong to a separate zoning category when they seem to operate exactly like other low density residential buildings (unlike, for example, the residential and commercial variations in Green Cities). I would have been excited to buy this if it was priced more like the content creator packs from CS1. It's unfortunately hard to justify the price if there are only low density residential buildings and no other zoning types or gameplay elements.
So I do think that any discussion of the beach properties pack should include commentary on the fact that one can't actually create beach properties. What's happened to you guys?
4 palm trees is crazy
There need to be more some like docks, water sports, beaches, recreation areas, beach cafees, restaurants, night clubs, live night life … so on..!
This! LIFE!

no new roads , pathways, parks or schools with small footprints ...... damm missed out :-(
4 Palm Trees
wait until it is on sale for AT LEAST 50% off. Then, you'll only be robbed a little bit.
Don't want to be negative but the fact that this is a "beaches" dlc without any way to create beaches is ridiculous. Hopefully that can be rectified soon
You probably want to turn comments off for this train wreck.
Too expensive
Given the last 6 months, this should have been free. A thank you for the very, very few players that have stuck wit the game.
Who would've thought the comments of this video would be a warzone, except of course everybody but Paradox ? It honestly feels bad for people at Colossal Order at this point. I'd rather have waited 2 more years instead of having this shitshow.
Yeah this what happens if you expect things too much honestly I rather have it delayed for 4 years then this where Devs makes over promises and a fan base of angry people.
I want a trains, planes and automobiles DLC with like 300-400 assets and all kinds of good buildings like museums for each as well as functional stuff like new parking lots, new train stations and new airport functionality. Make it happen please and don't make it overpriced like this, you will sell more if you don't gouge when the game is in bad shape. Just saying.
When will the land value bug be fixed?
Never.
After the new patch, still the same problem with GPU load. I didn't test it further... In the menu and on an empty map, 100% load, 1900MHz, consumption 160W. I'd rather mine Bitcoin...
I swear this company is trying its hardest to bury them selves into the ground
Shame there's no one playing to buy it
Cool, but zero chance I am spending more money on this game until it is a better game than CS1, there is a lot of work to be done.
It's disappointing that there are no beach props available, as your developers didn't even enable prop decoration as part of the base game. This DLC feels rather light, meaningless, and cheap without props and a gameplay mechanic to attract people to the beaches.
This is way to less content for 10 euro's. Just a few houses and 4 trees? really?
the beachless beach properties
No one in the garden or swiming in the pool =(
I like how the music is obnoxiously loud. It diverts attention from how little is on offer.
I still can't believe that you had the audacity to release a Beach Properties DLC without beaches. No props. 4 trees hidden behind a paywell. For some reason the assets don't even use the palm trees. So you have what should be beach style buildings but they have Northern trees integrated in their assets. wtf.
Meanwhile my game is so broken I can’t even load into my city
To me, based on how this game was launched, the well deserved angry customers, and the ridiculously borderline-confrontational responses to those angry customers, I think they just want to kill this game by releasing PAID content. Freaking bonkers.
I know that it's more difficult to make these resources for Skylines 2 vs. 1, but this feels very limited.
Please consider adding maps and commercial buildings, and filling in some of the missing plot sizes at least to try to make this feel a little more appealing.
In general, consider that you probably shouldn't count levels of the same building as separate items in a summary.
so happy you made so many things in nearly half a year 4 palm trees and 20 zone buildings?!?!!
I guess I'll wait the assets from the community
Thats just ridiculous. Never been so disappointed in a game before like this.
Future proof game, where running game on 3080 is getting difficult, can't play the game with such low FPS and lot of performance issues, what's the point of dlc? can't add more people and buildings it is becoming very slow in vanilla.
A Palm tree. Thats definetely something, that i want in my middle-european theme, mountain placed City.
And a beach. And all that just for a 11$, NOICE!
There are no beaches
HEY CAN YOU GUYS FIX THE GAME 1ST. I ASSUME THERE IS A MONKEY WITH A WRENCH SOMEWHERE IN THE COMPANY! THE GAME WILL NOT START!
Will there be expansion pack in future that will add hurricanes, ice storms, hail with thunderstorms, damaging winds and more natural disasters? Plus will there be free update to fix tornado by having realistic tornado with thunderstorms?
PARADOX just kills Colossal Order...
Cities Skyline DLC 50€ (World in conflict , Broken Arrow) (C&C , COH).
Cities skyline: city + economie
WiC Broken arrow: gameplay combat tank infantry naval air
COH C&C: Base building naval air tank infantry manufacture tank jet boat & defences building.
So far I haven't complained and hoped. But I'm starting to feel like I'm being silly. I'm definitely one of the oldest players here and I know how to behave verbally. However, I'm starting to run out of nice words. Is this a DLC? 4 trees and a few houses that all look the same when built? This trailer looks great again. Chic houses on the sand beach.
But when I build the houses in my map I don't have a sandy beach. false expectations were raised again. There is no beach but here you have a few houses and 4 palm trees for 10 EUR/$. I don't want anymore. I would like to give everything back. I honestly feel like I've been taken for a fool because I was so stupid and bought the Ultimate Edition in advance. I will definitely never do something like that again.
Another slap on the face by Colossal Order... $10 for non descript low residential buildings and 4 palm trees. What a joke!
Where are the beaches?
Alright my bad, I thought we would be able to zone beaches where cims could walk and enjoy the water. Turns out it's just beach properties for now.
"bring new life into your city..." - every house is empty like in a ghost town
"To make sure that same structures look different and diverse"
We are watching the same video right?
Fix the base game please, and the release of this would lead to more assets and detailing behind a paywall?
And where is the BEACH exactly?
You had time for this,. but not to address the 4561 bug reports currently on your forums, including the 420 that have actually been confirmed?
Maybe I’m one of the only ones but I’m holding out hope and am still enjoying CS II despite the rocky start!
If ya’ll at CO read this, please recognize you need to prioritize the asset editing / packs. The game needs to be open to receiving more assets from creators. That will get people back in the game, and those people will then be willing to buy your DLC. Until then, DLC is a tough sell!
