Nothing wrong with a replica I really don’t understand the hate towards them - especially classics
especially when the real thing is $10,000,000 !
I do not see any hate there..amazing car
The hate on replicas comes from people who have never been in one. I've recently been in a Porsche 550 Spyder replica, there is no way anyone is buying the real car, and the replica was just incredible and totally delivered on the road: Looks and performance wise.
The hate for replicas comes from Toyota MR2s
I really don't understand the hate either... in the guitar industry, replicas are like the holy grail... (nocaster 51 custom shop from fender springs to mind)
Now that is a great video.
Even though it is a replica, it is still a great car.
And that he lets you drive it.
Wow, that is seriously cool.
Great job.
Keep up the excellent work.
Fantastic idea if you want a useable car that drives better than the original.
0:16 Wild Sam Appears From Absolute Nowhere..
Didn't Expect That From An Intro 😂
Came from down under 🙄
Will you use Great ball, ultra ball or master ball to catch it ?
Was really nice haha
Love it when owners encourage giving it the beans! Awesome 👏🏼
Class video. As if the owner wasn’t a big enough legend for building the car, he shows he is also a true gent by letting you drive.
You’re living the dream mate. Glad to be following this journey with you since the 4C days
Exactly the time i started with Sam's channel :-D 4C !
Been following since the tt days when he was chasing an f40 but yh
Robert Jun Yin 4c would have been great car for the trip
SFG - Supercars from Gotham you’re on your own buddy lol. I couldn’t imagine how impractical the trip would be in a 4c
Robert Jun Yin who cares about practicality we’re freaks
Well that was just bloody cool!
It’s absolutely fine to build a replica off the right basis. It’s not like building a Ferrari replica off an MR2 or Fiero.
So was it built on a D-Type chassis?
@@williampowell9013 By my understanding it was built on a chassis with similar architecture to a D-Type.. so it's not nearly the same thing as a MR2 with a bodykit. Obviously there's not going to be an affordable D-Type chassis just floating around.
William Powell He explains that it’s based on a Jaguar E type (or XK-E in the US) which basically was the road going version of the D type.
That guys is an absolute legend! What a guy and what a car!
This is some proper TV-level content, and I actually find it much more interesting than the scripted nonsense of Grand Tour.
My god that thing is just beautiful.
THIS is what being a car enthusiast is all about. Sharing your car(s) and experiences with other enthusiasts. Good on you for jumping behind the wheel!
What a dude to let you drive it too. Kicking off this trip in style Sam!
What a cool guy letting you have a drive!
So weird seeing you on roads that I drive every day to get to work.
My drive to school is filled with traffic and suburban roads. You our lucky if you get to drive that road everyday.
Just weird seeing someone sort of famous actually in this country. No one visits Australia
Yeah... he was just down the road from me, I could've taken him to so many good driving roads and tourist spots around here.
My all time dream car, replica or not. He is living the dream. Sam, how fortunate you are to experience the visceral feeling of driving such a machine. Great job, young man.
True care guy, he got giddy when he got near the wheel. Love it!
Sam, this content is incredible!! I am so happy you are doing Drive The World, you are producing by far and away the most interesting, diverse and entertaining content of any of the automotive CZcamsrs. Cannot wait to catchup when you get over to the West Coast of Australia (Perth)
Setting the bar so high so early on DTW. Awesome clip.
The part where you start driving is mega! It's great to see your passion for cars even though you are probably used to all these beautiful cars by now. The love of cars never dies. Great video Sam! And Johnny: great car man! Love it
Saw this car today, while heading to the Gold Coast, from Beaudesert. Bloody marvelous!
Hats off to this bloke, for his vision, and getting it road registered, for everyday use.
Thanks for posting!
There’s kit cars, then there’s stuff like this. This is in a different league to your average 7 or cobra kit.
Jabber 1974 Yeh, that shifter throw was short and tight. No wobble in the stick at all.
VERY cool build! Fantastic looking car. Can't believe he let you drive it. Don't think i would have dared taking the wheel tbh, so i totally understand why you freaked out :) I love that we have people like this man, who dare do things like this instead of being held back by respect (for lack of better word) for the real deal. Dare to dream man! :)
That guy is a legend! Fully respected.
*great content as usual Sam! Hope everything will be okay and 'drive the world' will be lit for sure!*
My kudos for achieving his dream! Living his life to the fullest with a car that won't give him any problem like the original would! Well done, Sir!
That is a beautiful thing, when you build a replica of an iconic car simply because you love it that much then it should be admired. Jonny obviously did a great job with it and I for one think it’s amazing, anyone who wouldn’t feel special driving around in that is not a true petrol head!
Wishing you all the best... Have a safe journey throughout the year
Passion In - Passion Out - Drive it - Love it! Brilliant!
Only your 2nd day of your world tour and it's already EPIC. This was a fantastic video Sam. Ahh the joys of a wide ratio 5 speed manual transmission while wrapped inside a classic Jag. There aren't enough words to do this justice. And Jonny is a truly top shelf gentleman.THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!!!!
He's not pretending it's the real deal, but the look just adds to the experience. The story behind certain cars make them as cool as the original sometimes. Really cool thing!
What a great way to kick off the “Tour”.
I’m so happy for you - the experiences you will have (had) will be amazing, true life long memories! Safe and happy travels - amazing job, can’t wait for future vids. Cheers
What an absolute legend letting you have a go! Such an awesome car - you lucky sod!
I was beaming from ear to ear at your reaction to be able to drive the car - a true gent you found on day 2 Sam! A well deserved experience :) Bring on the next video!
What a stunning recreation and a very modest guy. Great job. Looking forward to more “drive the world”
Top guy, and my favourite Jag of all time!! Fantastic video, thanks from a Pom in Western Australia😎🇦🇺👍 Love originals and love replicas too so no hate here!
Rad. This man here is easily one of the coolest people featured on the channel.
#DriveTheWorld is off to a great start Sam! Looking forward to the next 12 months of content and the new #BehindTheGlass format! Very happy and proud to support this channel.
Honestly I think replicas are almost better, you get a completely different driving experiance than anything else not he road, it doesn't cost as much up front and then you don't have to be as afraid to use it meaning you get to enjoy it more. Amazing guy, amazing car, amazing video!
what a beautiful build that is!!!
cheers to that guy
That engine note was beautiful... and the car too!
Im all for old replicas, because I dream of owning my own Spitfire or P-40 but they’re in the £3Million area, and Iv actually wondered if I could build my own replica... this just proves its a good idea!
Wow that video had me smiling, can't believe he let you drive that D type!! And you killed it btw, can't wait to watch every video this year!
The editing is on point especially at 0:15
Lovely car too!
For me the D Type is the most beautiful car ever built. What a thrill that must’ve been.
Just watched this video and smiled all the way through .... amazing video with an awesome car !
Great video Sam! Hats off to Johnny, certainly has got his act together....completed what he set out to do and has done a great job of it. Well done mate!
Beautiful scenery in opening montage, Cool soundtrack and amazing car. Don’t care that it is a replica. Great start to the series.
Production just on point mate, keep up the excellent work!
He let you drive it?! That's the mark of a true car enthusiast... wanting someone else to enjoy the experience you get to have every time you drive. What a way to start off #DriveTheWorld!
Wonder if Johnny would have liked to drive a Porsche?
Super video sam. Looking forward to the next drive the world video. Top you tuber
Now that's an absolutely wicked vlog! Brilliant mate! Looking forward to what else you got coming!!!
What a guy, what a car, what a location. Nailed it Sam. Some awesome videos to look forward to this year!
He did some bang up work with that car. Great video Sam!
Great video, Superb car! and you are only on day 2!!! I cant wait to see how you will top this!
Great car, cool guy! - interesting hybrid Ozzie/Brit accent 😀
Absolutely, I totally agree with what you said Sam. I've been recently in a Porsche 550 Spyder replica and my god that thing is just incredible.
Wow that was awesome! Your appreciation and respect when he let you have a go in it was great to see!
drive the world is brilliant. Excellent job standing out from your CZcams peers. I will be thumbsing up every video purely out of support for such a bold and smart direction you’ve taken.
Now that was a welcome surprise. Hopefully plenty of retro, classic and vintage to come on your epic journey.
Looks and sounds incredible, and I love that he can drive it everyday . Great job
Nice video Sam.

And more recenlty the Audi domination.
... and so on
Hi Sam, really enjoying your journey! Having seen this classic Jag, I was thinking, there's a great classic / performance car showroom here in (North) Sydney.. it's called the 'Classicthrottleshop'. maybe worth taking a look when you're here.
Great car. Great music (Blues !)......Well done - couldn't be better
Great work champ, videos like this may have less clicks but much, much more quality viewers who appreciate all cars in a similar way you do. Enjoy Sydney, we gonna have a scorcher this coming week!
Absolutely brilliant video Sam. What a legend!
Love to see a Paul Wallace, meet Paul Wallace video coming
LOL if that would happen... :'D
Pls no. Can barely stand the guy..
@@henrikjohannessen3017 You obviously didn't watch the video
@Jkinsg92 LOL
Christian Dijk van super cars of being a dumb shit. Paul the guy who bought a 4.2 Audi R8 and was shocked that he could put 85 litres of fuel in it because it’s a 4.2?
Fantastic feeling to see the D-Type from the driver seat!
What a way to start Sam, top work sir.
Brilliant video Sam. Keep them coming and enjoy Oz.
Absolutely stunning!! Great content, Sam!!
One hell of a start for the series!!
Got to love Aussies for their hot rods/kit cars love! My father-in-law built a Shelby Cobra!! Awesome
I can tell already that "drive the world" is going to be ACE !!!!! Well done Sam.
Beautiful car & great video Sam.
Enjoy Australia, best country in the world!
Johnny is a gentleman and a hero... letting Sam drive that amazing car!
Well done that man. The D Type is my ultimate dream and if had the money and a garage I would do the same thing. It looks just right and acts right so that is the main thing.
Great content and video. Love the new year content so far
What a start to Drive the World. Amazing. I’m sure there are many more experiences like this to come. Best of luck this year.
Love it Sam... Cracking start to DTW
Love this!!! that car is amazing.
What an absolute gent letting you drive it!
Great video, kick ass car and the music change is kick ass also.
Great start to Drive the world. Got a feeling it is going to be a good year. All the best.
What an awesome video to start your Drive the World , and anyone who hates on someone who has made it possible to have a version of their dream car must be jealous, or a complete car snob/bore
Seriously cool, epic video too 👍
Great video, the production, your observations, the sheer enjoyment, it's all fantastic.
I bet if 90% of the haters of replica’s saw that car they wouldn’t notice that it’s not the real thing. The only thing that would give it away really is tapping on the bodywork and hearing that it’s fibreglass. Other than that it’s pretty spot on.
What a great start to your journey with that beauty!
Crazy content! It’s awesome seeing your progression from when you were spotting cars in London from the Alfa 4C to this kind of content driving a classic in Australia. Congrats Sam! Looking forward for more content like this!!
Great vid, well done. Such a beautiful car and great bloke.
Sam, are you going to visit a private race track in the town of Kulnura, on the NSW Central Coast? 5.1km, 22 turns, meant to be awesome. Only cost about $10 million. Built and owned by a guy called Dean Wills. Shmee went there, you can't let Shmee beat you!
I'm glad i supported your project on KS bicause i think it's only the start and it's already awesome ! Keep the excellent work and give us a part of the world to watch. And most of all, enjoy it to the max Sam !
Loving this so far!
Wow what a start for Drive The World! Great video.
FANTASTIC Car :-)
And a Superb video Sam :-)
Thank You so much for bringing this beautiful car to us :-)
Looks like you're having a great time over in Oz :-)
And I'm so Jealous of you getting to drive such an amazing car :-)
Enjoy it, you deserve it :-)
Bloody awesome Johnny, wish I had a car like that :)
Replicas are a wonderful idea because they allow people like Johnny to own their dream car without spending millions of dollars. When done well and tastefully, a replica can replicate the actual car it emulates almost perfectly. The only thing is that the owner mustn't pretend that he owns the real thing. As long as you're honest with yourself, replicas are outstanding machines.
Wow! Day 2 of Drive The World!
What a privilege to get to drive the car also. Can't wait to see what else you have in store for us!
Good job, keep it up
Another great video, Sam! Really digging the music and cinematics and looking forward to this year's content.
eyyy i was there when you shot this, was watching while eating my food! If only I knew what you were doing at the time.. :(
Now thats a replica I can respect! Very nice work! Love it!
absolutely love how this round the world series is starting off. this is exactly the kind of content i love to see. ps you looked good driving it too.
