    I got my Xanadu from a stem cutting. It was from a 20 year old plant though, and the stem had "branches" with aerial roots. I took one of those branches and stuck it in soil with part of the aerial roots in the soil. That was three months ago and I did not lose one leaf. When I brought it home it had a new leaf starting to unfold. That one just grew smaller, but it then resumed growing one huge leaf every two weeks.

    I love your massive plants, i look forward to my plants getting huge. Daughters are amazing. My daughter helps me out all the time and we spend a lot of time together, mostly just chatting, but recently she has found an interest in plants too. I have given her some plants from my own collection to start her off on her own plant journey, and we repotted and propagated about 10 plants together yesterday. I love seeing other families enjoying spending time together, u and ur daughter are so cute the way you banter between each other. Great vid, look forward to the next one. 😊

    The leaf on the philodendron will propagate more easily on water because it needs liquid to carry sap up thru the veins of the plant. In soil, the plant will rot and not be able to fully carry nutrients. Hello from Brazil.🇧🇷

    • @plantluxxe
      @plantluxxe  Před 3 lety

      Which Philodendron are you referring to? Self-heading one's cannot propagate in water....

    • @rodrigodiniz884
      @rodrigodiniz884 Před 3 lety

      @@plantluxxe the one similar to the philodendron brasil, those types suck up a lot of water to form a leaf, so in soil, they'll either abort the leaf to grow roots, or grow the leaf and rot the root. Dip it im cinnamon to maximize the chances.😘

    • @plantluxxe
      @plantluxxe  Před 3 lety +1

      I disagree. I have equal success in soil with the brasil, rio, and micans philodendron ... they all root well in water, soil, or spagnum..... don't need cinnamon. In fact, spagnum may be the best method I have tried.... water is easiest free way though. Thanks for commenting and watching!
