#Deftones #Bored #StephenCarpenter - Hudba
Let’s go for the whole discography man
Agreed.
That would be sick af
i hope
Oh okay👀
Think it's heading that way
It's 2021 and this still slaps so fucking hard.
Shit that’s badass will never not be bad ass.
I still listen to the Death album “Human” and get fired up every single time. Just like I do for “My own Summer” and Floods...,old school metal is my crack cocaine.
I'm digging your clipping album pic
Cause every year everything gets " softer" . Thats why nowadays its hard to see this king of single in any tv, radio or whatever.
This song no matter how old I get makes me walk with a swagger. So much bad ass vibes to this song.
@@brucanthwood I'll be bumping Daveed to the grave
This was first Deftones song I ever heard way back in 96. And I was hooked.
Me too! Flash forward to today and I have a Deftones tattoo sleeve on my right arm. Deftones for life 🤘
Same but in 1997 right before Around The Fur dropped.
Hole in the earth for me!
Haha same for me! My hockey team was lifting weights and a teammate played it for us. We’re all like, “Play that again!!!”
Mine was root, around 98
Finally a song from Adrenaline :) would be cool to see Engine No. 9 next from that album
100 percent, it's my favourite from that incredible album
oh fuck yeah.
Yep. I said Engine No.9 during the live chat as well!
Adrenaline rules
Their best album in my opinion.
This is the song that began my lifelong love for the Deftones.
1996 ! Good old time... I was 17
First song of the first album? Totally makes sense.
Same same same here!
Same
Me too!!!
Riff god! The fact that it’s in E standard amazes me.
Me too I always thought the whole album was drop D.
Well damn I stand corrected... I thought Adrenaline was Drop Db (I think that was Around the Fur now). I know I used to play a lot of these songs off Adrenaline in drop tuning, but it must have been in drop D (Bored is easier to play in drop than standard for a teenager lol) but it's been years... I KNOW white pony was all drop C, and I know I used to have 2 guitars tuned in Drop C and Drop D (or Db) to play a bunch of Deftones and SOAD songs back then... I guess I never played Bored the exact way Steph does... Obviously he stopped playing 6 strings almost 20 years ago, so as in this video he just tunes his low string to E for these old Adrenaline songs...
@@evan6534 there’s a video where he says that all of adrenaline was in E standard, drop c # for around the fur, drop c white pony, and then kept going down each album.
Yes I think I remember that actually - still amazes me when I think back on some of these songs. I only had 2 guitars back then, so I just adapted to be able to play as much as possible in 2 tunings 😂
its actually tuned in B thats a 7 string
Such an iconic intro. It's impossible to me hear those opening riffs and not get transported back to highschool parties and bottles of SoCo.
Love the nostalgia but God, it makes me feel so old!
The fact that this man is wearing an old school Misery Signals shirt, ripping a song that got me into Deftones and ultimately Misery Signals. FUCK YES!!!!
Is that Mirrors era MS?
I just want that shirt so I can subtly rep the Oilers and still be cool. 😅
@@Bat_Dance That's actually before Mirrors, since I got that same shirt on the Strhess Tour with Zao and Darkest Hour
@@reggielikesyoutube noice!
After almost 20 years of trying to figure out how to play that opening riff (since playing E5/F5 power chords just felt weird), seeing this finally gives me some closure in my life. 😂
Ithoguht the same i always thougth was bass
You can rest now, peace ✌️😉
So glad he did this so people would stop thinking it's drop d with pull pffs
@@DaveThomson there is an interview, I think on the Dunlop channel, where Steph describes the tunings from the albuns, and he stated there it's standard, and with the next albums it went down by half or whole steps
@@kkrsnn5632 I'm pretty familiar with the tunings to most of the albums as a player. But I've had countless arguments on this riff. There's even how to videos on CZcams that show it in drop d
It still amazes me how simple his riffs are. But so original and powerfull
I’ve been singing this song to myself sooo much lately. And just driving around Sacramento, alone…bored singing Bored really loud!
Really loud
@@onlyNtimE the LOUDEST!
This song and engine no 9 reminds me of sneaking out going to alternative clubs back in the 90s you’d hear the starting riffs of these classics and run to the dance floor. Good times
It's probably one of the best feelings to hear your favorite band play their favorite song live.
Man, is no one going to talk about how awesome that camouflage guitar is?
It's very George Lynch!
@@Frieza287 I don’t know much about guitars, but it looks insane
yes! it looks so sick 🔥 i’m thinking about getting one of those
which one? I didnt see it.
What guitar? I didn't see it
Wow he’s wearing a Misery Signals shirt. Love when my favorite bands rep each other. I had no idea he listened to them
I just love the fact that the Misery Signals logo is the Edmonton Oilers logo, considering where the band kinda sorta technically originated from, despite being based in Madison.
Misery Signals is fucking incredible and HORRIBLY underrated.
@@_mnejing Misery Signals is actually based in Milwaukee, not Madison. They do some Milwaukee sports merch too, they just put up a Bucks shirt. Jesse and Stu were from Edmonton hence the Oilers merch.
@@ryanguy372 minor mistake. I knew Jesse and Stu were from the Edmonton area (St. Albert IIRC)
Where's that Deftones Mis Sigs 2022 tour!
Yes!!!! My favorite FUCKING DEFTONES song!!!
same here
what a goddamn TUFF riff. pure gold!
WOAH ADRENALINE SONG? I'm excited for what's coming next!
Awesome! Thanks 🙏🏻
Buying CDs was such a 90s thing. Good music also. I miss those times. p.s. The earth is not flat mr. Carpenter. But there is are hole in the earth :D
I can't even tell you how many times I've bought Adrenaline, Around The Fur & White Pony.
One of my favorite Deftones songs! I love it!!! Hope to see you guys live next year!!!
Love this song, would love to see my own summer or around the fur next
+1 for my own summer, that's the first song I've learned to play would be interesting to see how much wrong i did it))
I'd like to hear Bloody Cape
This is the song that started it all for me with the Tones. I bought the album and as soon as I heard Root & 7 words back to back... I was hooked!
Awesome, it's 2021 and watching Carpenter playthroughs, his guitars, and riffs gives me life.
Minus Blindfold or Nosebleed would be dope. But honestly all of them are sweet.
Now you’re talking
Minus Blindfold omg
Minus Blindfold would be kick ass
One of my top 3 all time favs
What a tune ! Thank you for taking us back to the good old days man. My favorite Deftones album but Fireal was my favorite track! “I want to be much, then more… while I watch you”
Awesome. Back to classics. Thank you.
So epic. The track that got me into Deftones way way way back
Loving these playthroughs!! Please keep'em coming!
This was absolutely amazing. Love deftones🖤🤘
Amazing!
Yes! We all wanna see every song play through by you Stephen!!!
Awesome. Keep. Them. Coming.
Blows me away how simple he makes it look. Yet these riffs will forever be known
This is amazing thank you Steph. This is one of my favorite songs ever.
Such a classic, this and my own summer were my teenage jams. Still rocking them with the grey hairs sprouting!
the riff for the verse, after playing and then it rings with a hum sound....damn love how it make the tone sound so thick
OMG I LOVE THIS SONG
Finally some Adrenaline! Amazing how the guitar in this song is so simple and yet so freakin' good
Rockin that 2007 misery signals shirts. 💯
When that bridge comes in with just bass and drums.... RIP Chi
dude I've been waitinggggg for this playthrough
My fav Deftones song and album.
I need a concert so baaaad! The last time I saw you I was in front of you! 🖤
Wish it played his actual audio and not just the song
I think it's not audio. Unfortunately this is Adrenaline original sound.
@@kostniymozg He actually plays through his amp raw without any ADR mixing. That's done after they're finished filming, they go back in editing, and just drop the actual studio audio into the video over his playing.
@@TheMetalAllfather I don't hear his guitar. I hear the studio version only
You can hear his actual guitar when he adds those couple of extra strums during some of those runs
@@eddieespx You really can't.
This is always a mood
Classic!
Just an inspiring player fr!! Absolutely killin it.
Awesome tone. Such a simple riff but so emotively charged. Love it.
Loving these playthroughs
One of the greatest riffs ever in my humble opinion. This man wrote the soundtrack to my teenagehood 🤘🤘
1995 Release of Bored/Adrenaline, changed my Life. i was 14. Still listen to it today when I feel depressed. Helped a lot. So thx Deftones.
I effin love this!!🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
My absolute Deftones favourite and the song that introduced me to this genius band.
this is the song it started all, thanks 🖤
Fun to see the evolution from six to eight strings. Always & will be my all time #1 band! Many highs & lows for you guys, & will never forget watching you all grow through Circus Magazine while street skating throughout the 90’s & early 2000’s.
Much love & respect!✌🏼
yesssssssss
This made my day!
An all time banger! 🔥
So many memories
super awesome that you are doing this Steff I love your guitar work!
Stephen, you are the reason why I started learning to play the guitar. Long life to you!
Oh being a teenager playing Around the Fur and Adrenaline albums from start to finish... Haven't seen you guys since like 2007 or something and you still play it EXACTLY like the album. Love it man, and thanks for bringing the Deftones channel back to life. Also thanks for being one of my all time greatest guitar inspirations!
ah nostalgia! im 32 now, but when i heard those riffs in the 6th grade, i was immediately hooked. never gets old. thanks stef!
Same AF bro
One my favorite tracks off this album .. love this guitar 🤩🤘🏻
I have not heard this song in a very long time. wow. Thanks for this flashback mate. Big influence on me.
My first Deftones song. Love it so much!
Great memories, so crunchy
Used to jam this song all the time in my old bands. Thanks for this!
7 Words was my first listen into the world of Deftones which was distributed through CMJ magazine. Saw them in concert 2 week later opening as TBD for Orange 9mm/Korn in VaBeach VA. What a show! One of the highlights of my youth.
A classic!! 🔥🔥
So awesome, thank you !!!!!!
I love this guitar
