    Bio Planet also deserves a mention in terms of high quality, organic groceries. It's just around the corner in Nossegem.

    Thank you very much for your videos I've been in Brussels 4 months and Im afraid of the electricity, water and gas bills because I noticed that its not enough paying 200€/month at the last of the year they charge you more like 1000€ or 3000€ extra😢

      Hi there! The costs are very unpredictable for sure! 😣 Do you have an old boiler? I think it’s always good to have a buffer, luckily I have only experienced a peak in costs during the energy crisis. Have you experienced getting a high bill all of the sudden?

      €150 might be a bit on the low side for three people these days. We pay a bit more than €100 for two people, but we live in a very well isolated house. But it really depends on your consumption. You can usually adjust the amount you pay monthly via your energy company. Rather pay a too much and get it paid back than having a nasty surprise after a year.

    This is so helpful Evelyn! I'm a new viewer. Do you know of websites people use to look for rental property? We are leaning towards living in Antwerp over Brussels. We are retirees from the states.

    Ikea in Germany (e.g. Cologne) can be cheaper than even the Dutch Ikea (for the reason of less VAT alone). Something to keep in mind, since the next German Ikea is ~2h away from Brussels which is just an hour more than Breda or Eindhoven.

      Great advice! ☀️ We initially chose the Netherlands as it was closer to where my boyfriend was moving from.

    Hi,
    Can you name some market or shops where we can buy second hand clothes.
    Also what is the estimated start date of clothing sales.

    • @JustBrusselsThings
      @JustBrusselsThings  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Hi there! ☀️
      Winter sales lasts from 3rd to 31st January.
      Summer sales are from 1st to 31st July.
      For 2nd hand clothes, look for stores such as Melting Pot Kilo, Fripkot, City Store Vintage - but there are so many more!
      Les Petits Rien also has 2nd hand clothing 👍

      @@kevinysouza76 Good luck with your interview on Monday! 🤞🤞 It seems like you are doing the right thing. The horica sector (bars and restaurants) often need people. I know Irish bars often take in non-French speakers if you don’t speak French. The Brussels job market requires you to take an active approach, so do not hesitate to ask them directly!
