- Local businesses explain how the new Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail in the southern highlands of NSW is benefiting them, and the whole community.
Go to www.railtrails.org.au/trail-d... for more information on the this rail trail.
Thanks to local region business Mayfly Media for their work in producing this for us.
I went to Tumbarumba to ride the trail. It was great, nice town but not on the way to many places. The rail trail was the reason I visited and I'm glad I did.
great example of converting a derilict asset to an economic driving force
THIS is a good example of a rail trail, a quiet area with no demand for railway traffic that's been turned into an actually attractive tourist hotspot. The Northern Rivers rail trail will serve no use, the line has way too much demand for it to be ripped up, it should be operating train services RIGHT NOW!
The NSW government thoroughly looked into reopening the Murwillumbah railway line and determined it was not the best way to provide public transport for the region, after which the rail trail was proposed and supported by government as the best use of the corridor, which has widespread community support.
@@railtrailsaustralia God, reopen the line, who cares about trails? At this point it would be better if someone just bought the line and restored it.
Lots of people care greatly about rail trails, and they are supported by the NSW Government, refer www.railtrails.org.au/news/nsw-government-confirms-rail-trails-are-good/
@@NSWTrainLinkVlogs Absolutely Brother these glorified bush walks are just a place for the self centered lefty lycra mob to live out their hobby!!. Rail caters for everyone!!.
@@railtrailsaustralia all you do is spread propaganda, misleading people that "oh yea!lets tear down a rail line that people have actually been using!" *This* rail trail is excellent but if you dare to turn all of the murwillumbah line, Bombala line or great northern railway into horrible gravel paths than you've got something coming!
Theres nothing rail about a glorifired bush walk!!!!!
except that is follows the route of of an rail lineand reuses the foundation, drainage, cuttings, etc.
@@timcoen683 WHATEVER!!
The definition of a rail trail is a walking or cycling trail or path that follows the route of a defunct railway line. If you don't like it then you're in the minority. There are many in Victoria.
