    Thanks for sharing the session mate. Have you got any trick for casting out running sinker rigs?

    • @MustaFishing
      @MustaFishing  Před 2 lety +1

      Ey bro thanks for the feedback. Im so use to casting them out as its my main rig I use. I normally just leave about a 5-10cm gap from the swivel to the rod tip. Ive noticed when i do this I get a better distance. I get a further cast from running sinker rig than i do paternoster rig. Comes down to abit of practice. the more u use it and cast with it the better you will get.

      Hi syed, it is a good time in port phillip bay to fish for garfish. Abit of burely, float and small hooks. I have a video on garfish check it out. They are good fun to catch and very tasty fish . Hope this helps

    Caught a 9.7kg snapper on high tide stand just at st kilda behind the BP you can park right there with a long rock ledge on the side of the wall where you can put you roads inbetween. Not much people fish around there aswell weekends gets packed due to the restaurant being right there tho

    • @MustaFishing
      @MustaFishing  Před 2 lety

      Thanks bro im going to have to try that spot 👊🏼

    • @thenguyen4873
      @thenguyen4873 Před 2 lety

      @@MustaFishing its only good for high tide tho as it pretty much covers that rock ledge, low tide you will be able to see the bottom closest to the wall. Another good spot is black rock where the rock walls are saves walking all the way to the pier. Both spots you can also catch squid aswell best bait, avoid buying the frozen squid as they are not fresh enough.
      Also ive personally found that if the water is choppy without wind seems to produce way more fish. But calm days produce more squid.
      Good luck bro I been fishing PPB since I can remember im not 35 and chased pretty much every species to perfection that can be found in PPB both landbases and on my boat. I do however prefer jewies compared to snapper tho. )

    Do you suggest a spinning rod ro other sorts of rods

    • @MustaFishing
      @MustaFishing  Před 2 lety

      Depends what kind of style of fishing your doing? If you paddling baits out than overhead reel. If your fishing off the surf or casting lures ect spin reel is the way to go. As for rods depends what ur using it for . Off the piers ect it can be shorter , but off the beaches u will need something 12-13 foot long for casting distance

    A few biodegradable rubber bands work very well to hold the pilchards on hooks.
    and withing 3-5 days in water they rot away

    • @MustaFishing

    What reel and rod and line do you use. And how much does it cost for the same rod , reel and line

    • @MustaFishing
      @MustaFishing  Před 2 lety

      The rod i use is a shimano ballstix its about $250-300 from memory and the reel is a saragosa its the older models in a 10,000 size which i paid $250 for. I ran that with 50lb rovex multi colored braid. It is a solid combo and will land you anything in the bay

  • @ripoffrecords

    If you're after a snapper that size you'll need 5/0 6/0 - 8/0 even inline circle hooks. Also the fish are not "just there" waiting for you, you need to create a "bite frenzy" of smaller fish to draw in the bigger fish. Obviously you cant get burley out where your bait is to create the frenzy. Try attaching a strong paper bag or net fist size, full of pilchard chunks, to your sinker that numbers of smaller fish will go nuts over & hurl that out. This might sound unorthodox & weird but I have learnt much during my long painful fishing life of failure from observing those more experienced. One small bait will be constantly attacked by little fish - keep the little fish satisfied with burley chunks while offering a big bait to the larger ones. Maybe use one rod to hurl out a burley bag & the other with a large bait 6/0 circle hook. And keep putting it out in the same location - "build the bite". I wont say "good luck" because luck is mostly bullshit. All the best!

    I'm not sure if that bait mate is bio-degradable or not, but next time please take it home with you instead of throwing it onto the beach. It is a form of line designed to hold bait so i am guessing it wouldn't break down too quickly. Fishing is a great sport, just treat the waters you fish with respect pls
