Thanks for responding to my comment and bridging between episodes 3 and 4. For a future Canal Boat Diaries project how about going across the Kennet and Avon canal and then up the tidal Severn to the Gloucester and Shapness Canal and Gloucester.

I do enjoy CBD. There is a lot of one person travelling on TV at present. Winter walks is one but this is more about the presenter not the places and you do just the opposite, talk about the places and only a little about you. I was sorry you missed the two pubs at Trent Lock on the Erewash. We lived near the Erewash and my grandmother loved Trent Lock and its pubs (actually she wasn't that fussy about pubs). I've moved away but when I need to go "home" it is often to stay near there and find food and drink at Trent Lock. I suppose the Erewash Canal is not in series 5.
Really enjoyed this vlog Robbie, it's all so interesting. I'm not sure that the BBC every really understand when they have a winner on their hands. They are so into soap opera and pensive faces, they no longer seem to get what real people are interested in. CBD is a cracking series and long may it continue, even if its not with the BBC. 👋

You totally saved the day, especially as I had to resort to using it to try and break through more ice! In the end I found the gangplank was the best device for breaking it up so managed to keep the pole for it’s intended use!?!

Thanks for this, as I'm not in the UK and can't access CBD. Interesting bit with the luthier. Ah, the "F" chord, my nemesis. I had a Takamine cutaway, beautiful in looks and tone. But the action was ALWAYS too high. Had a pro deal with it once, I went after it myself a couple of times but to no avail. My calluses had calluses and I swear that guitar permanently deformed the nail bed of my left middle finger. Demon guitar from hell. Broke me. I sold it to a pawn shop for change. Sigh...😢
@@RobbieCumming yes I agree with you, when they redeveloped the wharf they managed to 'accidentally' demolish the one remaining original building, a forge I think. I was hoping they'd create a heritage quarter with frontages from old buildings, the blue boar being one of them which was lost to the soulless shopping mall! An open aspect to the rushes street would've been nice too. Hey ho!
Robbie, really enjoyed CBD. My suggestion to you for the next series is to re created the route/journey by Tom Rolt who described it in his book narrowbaat. It would make a pre done script almost and have lots of historical interest as it was the beginning of the leisure phase of the canals as we know them today? No Pub? Robbie did you not find "The Swan In The Rushes" ? It's about 200 meters from the basin and serves real ales. In Fact the pub building is visible at 14.34 mins between the two new buildings on the right of the screen.
Robbie... You mentioned livestreams.. do you realise they are unwatchable on a large screen ? ..mine 65".. due to wobbling of the picture..it must be your camera or mount I guess on the roof of the boat.. It's so bad it's actually causes motion sickness and that's why you can watch it... And I am not one of those people that gets easily affected by motion sickness in fact I'm the opposite. Weird thing is I've had none of these problems with your videos, they are steady as a rock.. you must use a different camera, or mount I guess..?? I'm not complaining I'm just giving you a heads up.. and it's a shame I can't what's your live streams on my TV ..as I love your content.. cheers.

Im surprised that they use so little of the footage that is shot. There must be enough of just the Sheffield or Chesterfield canal for a series on each one. Am i missing something?
Would be good if you could find out from the BBC if you could, say after a few years, put the entire series on your CZcams channel. I've seen it on CZcams so you may as well get the income from it rather than a random uploader.
