All Borla street Cat-Backâąs, Rear Sections, and Mufflers are 50-state emissions legal. These systems will NOT void your factory warranty, some cars even have Borla systems as the OEM exhaust. In fact, it is illegal for a dealer to deny you the OE warranty because you have changed the exhaust system.

I bought a Borla S Type..installed it on my 2014 and after a few weeks, upon start up, it would produce a ringing sound..kind of like a loud bell..I came to realization that a weld inside came loose/broke off...I made a video, sent it to Borla and they sent me a BRAND NEW one..no questions asked..I had to send them my receipt via email and that was it. It was a pain in the ass to take the faulty one off and reinstall the new one, but we'll worth it!!!! Borla is a GOOD company!!!

I was on the fence with the Borla S-type but ended up going with the Corsa Sport Performance exhaust on my 2020 6.2L Chevy Trail boss and I love it. Has a different tone - reminds me of a performance sports car. Whenever I decide to get a new truck, I'm going to run the Borla S-type.

I got the S-Type for my 6.2L Camaro. It was still rather quiet but with a better sound. Just what I wanted. Then I added long-tube headers and it got really throaty but still about the same volume. Cool. Then I threw in a larger intake manifold, throttle body, and cam. Now it's way too loud. But way too fun.
With my 6.2L truck, I'm starting off with the Borla Touring exhaust and I got the ones that point in opposite directions. Even though it is the quietest option, they are louder than expected. And now I've added long-tube headers and its made it raspy loud. I've got a high-ram intake and large throttle body ready to install. I'll be doing a cam swap at the same time and I imagine it's going to be as loud as an Atak system after that.
I also just got the stype for my 2019 camaro ss. It arrived today so I'm very excited to see the difference to my stock long tube headers sound. I hope it's a lower rumble than stock npp
The quad tips are ok, personally the stock HDMI tips to me are better and I'd keep them. To each their own though. Nice trucks

@@TruckOwnership101 been very good so far. Still has all of the towing the 6.2 has, but much better MPGs. Best I've gotten is 37.4. Made it from Massachusetts to Washington DC on 1/2 a tank of gas.

Ha, yeah I never thought that either until social media ruined them for me lol. I had mine powder coated black before I replaced them and they looked really sharp!
I was dead set on the Atak but changed my mind and got the S-Type for my 21 Silverado 6.2L RST. Start up is plenty loud but settles down fairly quick. You definetly hear it when you get on the throttle though. I think the Atak sounds good but a bit too obnoxious in my opinion.
how much did you pay for install?

Going up a hill with the trailer you certainly hear the S-Type. Part of that is the echo off the trailer too. 60 on a flat is no different with or without a trailer.

Good video. How does either effect the sound inside the cab ? Kind of a dumb question on my side with the hardcore tunes I listen to. But worth asking. I can always up the volume.

Zero drone unless your pulling something. The only time Iâm like, âyeah thatâs a little too loud.â Is cold start in the morning. Lol sorry neighbors! A few seconds later and itâs a low growl again. Very happy with it.

I have the s-type on my truck. Cold starts are loud, but tapers off in about 5 seconds into a mild gurgle. Sounds good. Not to loud on the road, no drone at all. I thought about about going with the atak, then remember a friend has it and regrets it. Loud. All the time.
The only feedback I got from the truck owner who has the ATAK was about his improved mileage on his commute lol. I live in work in town so I havenât seen that yet.
@@TruckOwnership101 the s-type and intake has "improved" gas milage on my silverado even with a 6 inch lift, and on 35s. Might have something to do with driving in sport mode though.
Wouldn't say it's loud all the time. It's actually fairly quiet once it warms up and idles. Just a little rumble but that comes with exhaust. On acceleration they are just about as loud as eachother, the ATAK is just deeper.

@@JacobH82359 the ataks I have heard have sounded raspier imo than the s type. which I prefer mainly on mustangs and Camaros.

Great video I installed the atak on my 6.2 and keeled the resonators on and itâs plenty load enough But was thinking of taking the resonators off ( not sure of how much of a difference it would be if I took off the resonators) and getting those carbon fibre tips Love the looks of those tips âïžâïžđšđŠđšđŠ

Question on the Borla exhaust. I have a ZR2 on order and it doesn't have the exhaust ports in the bumper. Does this exhaust have enough slack that will adjust to go below the bumper or will Borla need to have a different option for the ZR2. Looks like we are in the same state with your license plate.
My guess is that you will say you plan to use âfactory tipsâ and run nothing like the ZR2 does. From what I can tell GM is doing the dual exhaust setup with a non dual bumper. The factory tips mount and are basically part of the dual exhaust bumper. The real exhaust pipes on the ZR2 looks the same on the 2020 if you take the tips off.

Ha, fair enough. No drone in the cab unless Iâm pulling my 6,000lb camper. Sounds really good when you get on it. Only a slight increase in noise in the cab when you are driving normal which is perfect

Running true dual cat backs no muffler on my 2019 z71 w the 5.3.....love the sound except I kept the stock hdmi tips and when truck gets up to temp it sounds like a helicopter...do not use stock tips...they are like stamped together and sound like garbage at idle when actual noise and air goes thru them

I just did my exhaust on my 2022 Silverado rst ⊠sounds good on start up and when accelerating âŠ. Only issue is a popping sound on deceleration and coasting in neighborhood at like 20-30 ⊠thought it was the afn/dfn so got the chip to shut that off and it still has the pop âŠ. Any idea what the issue is?
Leak somewhere in the exhaust, drawing oxygen in possibly.

No drone issues during regular driving if thatâs what your asking. They are both tuned well. ATAK will just be a little more for a litter longer.

True dual S-type is badass. Iâm scared to do something like that on my 5.3 because Iâve noticed they get the can rattle on the 5.3⊠but I want louder⊠I have a flowmaster single in dual out and it sounds really good juts not loud enough for meâŠ

I did the full true dual cat bak system to get the most out of the system. No flappers or crushed y-pipes. But you can get plenty of sound gains and airflow for less by just doing the muffler.

Are these Borla ataks louder than a carven tr or magnaflow magnapack? The video reviews vary so much on these exhaust some people have said they sound stock some other sound like they are at least 120db nascar loud.

How will it sound if i just add the muffler and keep the stock piping everywhere else?
I put a Borla ProXS muffler on my 6.2L. Check out my video. Borla refuses to sell the Atak and S-Type tuned mufflers outside of their complete cat back kits.
I just got off the phone with Borla. They told me that without a blower, you will lose performance with the true dual setup. Have you had any noticeable difference in performance? Or have you not noticed a âseat of the pantsâ loss?
So if you get the dual pipe one side exit you donât lose performance?
Why would you lose performance?? That statement makes NO sense. Anytime you install a freer flowing exhaust on a 4-stroke, you should gain power.
So at the beginning you mentioned that you can purchase the muffler by itself (as a budget option), but from what Iâve discovered, Borla wonât sell just the muffler. Can anyone shed some light on this? Iâm looking to go with the S-Type, and would simply like a tip on what model number to order. Thanks in advance.

I wanted something deep and throaty not to loud I m almost 60 yo so nothing too loud. I just bought a like new 2021 trail boss 5.3 LT. I really kinda like the flow master super 44 and wanted to go with a set of black quad tips I m real handy and have a lot of tools so I can probably do it myself. I have already covered the 6 resonator screens with aluminum heat tape any suggestions would be appreciated

Shouldnât. The dealership puts Borla exhausts on as a factory add-on. You can select them in your packages. Had no issues with the two I did.
I'd do just a cat back. I'm waiting for someone to do a system for a 22 GMC Acadia 3.6 litre V6. I know it's not as cool as V8. I just want to kick it up a notch. I went to real trucks website. They don't list any 22 models yet. I guess I'll have to patient. Thank's Kenny.

Only when Iâm pulling my camper. Probably getting some echo off it to so⊠I have been really happy with it. A little loud on the cold start for my taste, but perfect in my opinion once it warms up.

Difference in measurable MPG?
I donât do any consistent driving to accurately measure that. I live and work in the same town and pull trailers often. Super happy with the sound in every driving situation.

Not necessarily. They tune all of their exhaust systems towards a target sound. Safe bet it wonât be louder though lol. The 5.3 might not come in an ATAK from what Iâve heard⊠might support your theory actuallyâŠ

I have the s-type on my 2021 trail boss with K&n cold air intake definitely boost it up & makes those raptor owners look. I love the sound starts out aggressive but calm at cruising step into & unleash hell on the highway, downside to my truck u canât unlock the computer to turn off the step limiter yâall know 98mph this is bs how much juice is Chevy hiding thereâs no way to unlock the computer).,:;/+% but love it s type I highly recommend

If you are getting exhaust please never waste money on touring. especially seeing as cat back is like 1200.... Atak is the only way. True dual... I went stupid loud. I want a a huge difference... not minuscule

Itâs because they are real carbon fiber.
Remember folks for the 5.3, the Atak is not available. But the Atak is definitely a better sound than the soft stype.
I was just on the website and the Atak is in fact available for the 5.3, in the catback layout.
