Hard to believe these anachronisms were still on the roads in 1992 and beyond when other half cabs were in museums for decades. A testament to their advanced lightweight construction underneath and their iconic appeal.
Best bus ever. Sorry, but red is best. The Routemaster does not look as good in the Southend Transport livery and awfully big S.T. logos. They just look like the second-hand buses that they are.

Who would ever think these fabulous old icons would disappear?Ford fiesta mk1 was here too, my wife had one until I got my Vauxhall Nova mk1.

Do you know where I can find video of the rest of the high street or victoria avenue, vic circus etc? Seems hard to find now.

I don't know about Southend but in London they were on the roads until 2005!
Misk a shell of their former selves so many alterations.
Which part of the town is this. I can't remember any such wide roundabout in any parts of southend .
They looked a bloody mess, as filthy as they were when used in London.

Sadly no - RMs were 14' 6" high and would have been de-roofed by the bridges at Rectory Road and Hockley Station.
