Sorry everyone is trying to beat you up so. I recently planted a friends 20 acres in crimson clover in between one year old planted pines for wildlife plot. I tried to set my unit to plant 1/2 inch deep. We planted 15lbs @ acre. The land was sprayed with RU in a six foot band to kill the weeds. Planted into good moisture and got a good stand.

Only negative comments are folks who look at thumbnail pics and not watch videos!! I planted some more yesterday, fresh tilled bed, nothing much touched the ground but the press wheel. My stand from this video came up good too.

I recently purchased a no till drill and was wondering do you have a video that shows you planting seed and distributing fertilizer at the same time?Im a newbie i guess you could say and im starting to learn different planting methods and seeds i can plant on my farm food plots. Thanks for the info and your knowledge...

We do not distribute fertilizer at same time and to be honest not sure how I would. How do you think that is done? We use a spreader for fertilizer

@@hunterworksoutdoors If I may... Some of the old Van Brunt Deere drills and Oliver drills and others had two boxes one for seed and one for granular fert. I am not aware of any "new" drills that are set up that way. They could be some out there that I am not aware of. If you had one you could do it...

@@johnnyholland8765 I was thinking about this yesterday, you could redneck it. I have two hoppers, small seed and regular. You could put it in the other hopper you was not using.

Put an Electric spreader behind the drill put your Fertilizer on with it when it rains the Fertilizer will go right in the drill slot.

@@hunterworksoutdoors that's what the guy said that sold it to me.He said to put fertilizer in your large seed hopper and whatever you plant in the small seed hopper and plant together.I don't think that would work because I'm not sure if the fertilizer would burn or damage the seed or not.

I'm sure your fields will look great w/ rain but discing the field defeats the simplicity, purpose and benefits of a no till drill.

Did you watch the video to the end? I explain why it is a prepared seed bed to start this process over again after the fail the first year.

And again, using a no till drill in tilled ground, too much money, not enough brains

Mr Anti-Christ, you must not have watched the video or you would not have commented such a stupid comment. It says, "if" you have a no till drill and want to plant clover, this is a good way to do it so you can spread the typical 8lbs over a acre. Watch the video before making a comment!! 🤔🤔🤔

@@hunterworksoutdoors The best way to plant clover no till, is to drill in the spring with cow peas that choke out the weeds, then spray in July, and no till clover over them, I am fond of White Cloud Crimson clover, I don't by mixes I buy straight seed and mix my own much cheaper.
