- Another addition to the 'Don't Throw Out Your Scraps' series in which I show you how I use my scrap fabric (and yarn, batting, elastic, etc.) to create beautiful, useful handmade objects.
I love sewing these small projects so I can put to use all of my plant dyed fabric and use up scraps I have in the sewing studio. It's just another way I can reduce my waste.
Hope you give it a try, let me know if you do!

Just love the shape that this makes! So cool! Your fabrics are beautiful. I wouldn’t throw any away either.
Oh, thank you so much! ☺️🙏
What a sweet project. Thank you!
Absolutely! 🤗
New subbie, and I thought that I would ask here. Is there more info on the natural dying process? More videos on what to use? And how.
That would be truly appreciated.
Hello! I have made a few videos here and shared a bunch on my IG and TT but honestly they don't do very well so I stopped making them! The two I made here about dyeing with walnuts and pomegranate are a really good place to start if you want to get into natural dyeing. ☺️
Very cute! But how do you keep the pins from sticking your arm? A cardboard base inside might work? I know when we made finger pincushions, we attached the elastic to a button which kept the pins from poking us. 💖🌞🌵😷
If you use natural cotton the pins don't go through, it's too hard to make it more than half way. With polyfil it would go all the way through so you would need a heavy weight stabilizer or sand to stop it. I highly recommend cotton!
