Dark Sun has always been my fav. But I didn't know much about Planescape. It seems cool.
@@197mmCannon Dark Sun is an amazing setting and the fact that it introduced me to one of my favorite artists, Gerald Brom, means it will always have a special place in my heart. But the grand nature and diversity of environments that the Planescaoe setting gave to D&D puts it on top for me.
We gotta get a recorded campaign going. 🔥

This sounds like it could have been very deep but is shared in a basic way. Not that that is bad. I definitely have to get my hands on this book now.

Planescape was good, lots of options that felt way better than Spelljammer for moving characters from one world to another. My favorite all time setting was Dark Sun, way more grim but not so much dark. I still have the original Dark Sun and the expanded and revised. My Planescape boxed set got loaned out and never returned. I still have the maps tho.
I am the opposite I have the books but not the box and I don't know where the maps art maybe we should work something out so one of us can have the whole thing ha ha ha. But you're not the only person to mention Dark Sun even in the comments - Cal

Wow i guess there's a lot more to D&D than i thought! Nothing wrong with traditional fantasy, but it's been done a lot. Alternatives like this just seem to have a lot more to explore because they're so unfamiliar. If there are other cool settings you guys like I'd tune in for more.
(Though based on what I'm seeing you guys are missing out on the AoS Skaven hype train 😅)
We don't mind the Skaven we think they are cool but, we want to be able to make cool things, and Planescape is cool. Plenty of other people talking about the newest releases, why not talk about something timeless - Cal

Have you guys thought about changing the bgm vibe at all?
I believe BGM means Background Music, so currently we use White Bat Audio music because it is copyright free and we have been stung before using 'copyright free music' and got hit by copyright. Infact even with the new system we got hit with White Bat Audio even though they didn't strike us it was just an automated system thing, it was extremely stressful even though we credited the artist and the music we didn't @ at them so that was the problem with the new system.
In short we would consider other music if we new we wouldn't be "taken advantage of" for doing so... we put a lot of work into these and if we change it and get hit for it that's a weeks worth of work wasted... - Cal
Loved this one. Sigil is a kind of punk setting, if you play natives.
Glad to see Planescape and Spelljammer return, but sad that Dark Sun will stay dead, because WotC doesn't know what problematic means.
The only criticism of your take I have is that you view the setting through the eyes of the Bleak Cabal 😁

What a fun introductionary video to Planescape! I'm currently running a campaign, and while I wouldn't describe it as 'grimdark' I did enjoy your take on the setting. Dark Sun is probably darker in set-up and tone, in my opinion, where 'The Answer to Iniquity is You'.

@@WhatareyouPaintingnow I know of the discourse surrounding the origin of the name, but as a proper noun it is not bound to standard pronunciation. I would only suggest using a hard G since all official products pronounced the name of the city that way, such as the CD that came with the Player's Primer to the Outlands, and the Planescape: Torment video game. The quote by Rastina Tollin is also from the campaign book Sigil and Beyond. In your campaigns - and your videos - you are, of course, free to do as you choose.
@@TLP0RT The issue is when you are presenting things to an outsider which you usually are as a CZcamsr you make things as accessible as possible. That's why we try for very clean diction and get accused of being AIs... but the whole idea is that anyone could pick this up and understand everything being said... hopefully - Cal

I think the true source of apathy in Sigil is, when every god has a realm, and every religion is right... None of them are.
You're not wrong and we could have expressed that more, I thought we did with how we talked about all the heavens and all the hells. It's hard to hit that balance of being explicit vs hitting people over the head with things and often you don't know if you got it right it until you released your video.
