Quinten Hann was one of the best at losing it. His smash break off shot got rid of some frustration, but then it built back up, as he often lost the frame because of it. Inviting Andy Hicks to the car park after a match was funny.

To me one of the best but also most frustrating things about snooker is that you are entirely in control when you're at the table. There's no countdown timer, nobody forcing you to do anything specific, it's all up to you. That makes it feel entirely your fault when you do something stupid or play a bad shot. In tennis or something similar the ball is coming at your face and you just have to react. Simultaneously, every single shot is hard to play and requires both concentration/planning and touch/feel at the same time. Anyone who has not played snooker seriously really cannot appreciate just how good the top players are.
Twitching on a shot and losing tens or hundreds of thousands of pounds.... your children going on holiday or even just paying the bills coming down to potting a black off the spot, with a hundred thousand people watching and judging if you miss.... hard work for sure.

Ali Carter definitely is the most emotional player all the time. I've seen him showing his depression and fury during match many times. As a fighter beated cancer he deserves my respect but as a professional snooker player he is really nasty with a you-owe-me-money face. I'd like to watch him and Maguire playing in a table because there's a high possibility that they both will make snooker into boxing.

A very relatable topic at times! As you say especially when you miss what should be an easy shot but somehow can pot long balls no problem. Taking time to calm to down on Lundy Island, just off the coast of North Devon.

The way I deal with anger is to not expect too much of myself. But sometimes it's just...everything's so annoying, the only thing I could do is to watch the tragedy happen. But anyway, the video is helpful, and funny👍

I'm commenting before watching the video and I'd guess the biggest reason for being extremely angry is missing easy chances (especially if you really need to convert that chance) and you are feeling confident in yourself of doing just that. If in that state of mind something goes wrong, it's very difficult to just shrug it off. Someone might think that players get angry for bad fortune but usually luck is not in your control and you can't really blame yourself too much.
It seems to me that there was less snooker anger back in the 80's. Maybe because the best players back then were quite safe in their cosy top 16 club without so much competition from newcomers.
They also drank and smoked heavily, the game has definitely become more clinical and some might even say sterile, nothing quite like chemical catharsis to ease some tension
Alex Higgins had his moments. I remember Jimmy White losing it too. Cliff Thorburn lost it when the ref didn't hear him nominate a ball.

nice video, as always. off by a factor of 100x though, on the time the cue is in contact with the cue ball. it's been measured numerous times on high-speed photography to be only 1-2 milliseconds.
