Beloved, I get what you are saying, but the Church is not a hospital. It means “a gathering” or “the called”. It is by the testimony of Christ we believe God raised Him from the dead, that He was and is everything He spoke and speaks about himself by that testimony. And as a result of his resurrection He has committed to us the treasure of the Gospel in “earthen vessels” (2 Corinthians 4) to preach the word and grow his church. He has called us to live a holy life, not for anything that we have done, but according to His own purpose and grace. He is coming back for His bride, The Church. Not a hospital. Amen.

@@mrstea1813 That's why I used the word "hate". I know I will stand alone in my complaints. It's said we have no hierarchy, but me talking in front of everyone would be anathema for me, not the fornicating ones.
      Pastor decided.
I feel hate because I'm torn between reality and the change I believe time could bring. Yet I doubt it.
I see we are all there not for Christ but for not walking alone, because if we were for Christ sin couldn't get in.

why does it have be at a building called "church"? where 2 or 3 are gathered in my name, there i am in their midst.
the "church" i have watched is all about that offering plate passed around at the end after you have been given the placebo pill of "being served" ... you have been "served" someone's opinion of scripture ... does that someone weep anyone's tears with them or walk in anyone's sorrows with them? NOT THE ONES I HAVE WATCHED
true story. a few years ago i stopped at a bp gas station and shared a bit with the checkout clerk. a poor woman. she seemed open to church. i knew of a local church right there within 2 miles of the gas station (to which she also lived very close by). i contacted a couple home group leaders AND the pastor saying so and so at such and such bp gas station is open to going to church. NEVER HEARD FROM THE PASTOR. you see, she didn't fit the demographic of the middle to upper middle class "paying customer" they were looking for ... but their web site says this: "making disciples for Jesus Christ" WHAT A JOKE!
pastors push for "go to church" because that is their money gathering opportunity. many of these so-called shepherds literally work 5-10 hours a week but get paid as though it was 40 ... that is illicit gain ... something that has a value of 2 is presented as though it has a value of 10, so it can get compensated at a 10 level
if you went to a grocer and found out he tampered with the scale in his fruits and vegetables section to show 5% more weight than what was on the scale, what do you conclude about that man? the only reason you would keep shopping there is that there are no other viable options in your area. what does God think of that 5% tampering? we now have men operating church with 200% and 300% markup as they "serve" you prepared sermons ... where are prepared sermons in the Bible? NO. FEAKING. WHERE. prepared sermons open the door for men to embed personal agenda and personal ambition into their "preaching"
Stephen preachead an extemporaneous sermon to the sanhedrin which is captured in Scripture. THAT'S THE REAL PREACHING UNMIXED WITH PERSONAL AMBITION. stephen got stoned for it. these men enjoy an undergirding pay-check in perpetuity. real sermons are prepared by the Spirit and they are extemporaneous by vessels who are useful to the Master. prepared sermons open the dorr for every fake con and wolf to set up shop and peddle the message of Jesus

Being around that stuff really will have you looking sideways at the church in general. I believe the point he's making is the majority of these "churches" today are in error as opposed to the first century church. For the most part the first church followed the apostles doctrine. When there was error those things were quickly addressed by Paul and others. How does one assemble and build one another up when people are being taught wrong? What fruit is going to come from that? Most places have their own doctrines and what they believe based upon denominations. In the early church they were all in one accord (Acts 4:32). I believe there's a need to get back to sound biblical teaching without the denominations, fame, prosperity, showmanship, etcetera. Until then...

this is a funny comment. back then they were only few thousands, today over 1 billion. you think there wont be differences in doctrine now? lolol . the differences are so minor that it doesnt justify in any way not going to church.. in the last days there will be a falling away. you can see it already by the great numbers of empty seats in the church.

    • @whymindsetmatters
      @whymindsetmatters Před měsícem +10

@@vicentiu67 the number of people doesn't matter. Has the bible changed since then? No, people have changed the bible to fit there personal theology and denominations. Where is Christmas, Easter, and such holidays commanded in the bible? Why do you participate in things that YAH is against? Why do the majority of these so called pastors have no job outside of ministry? Ministry isn't a job you earn an income from. Ministry is free. Neither Yahusha, one prophet, apostle, etcetera were paid a salary for ministry. This reality alone is just one example of these churches being in error. The gospel is a free gift. If these preachers want money, go get a job. The bible commands us to work 6 days and rest. Standing in a pulpit for 1 hour on Sunday and getting paid $50,000-$100,000 per year to preach a sermon is wrong. Tithes are not biblical and offerings are for the maintenance of the church, taking care of widows 60 years and older, Elders who are unable to work any longer(1 Timothy 5:9) and the poor. Not for paying staff members salaries. The church isn't a business. It's a house of prayer for all people. The point is we were supposed to follow the same doctrine of the apostles that's in every bible. Nothing has changed, only the people.

corey, i have a lot of respect for you. i have to say that i agree with mcmillen. the way church is implemented today has many problems. it's a gathering, yes, but it is controlled by men in many ways and can, and has been used for personal gain and socioeconomic enlargement. a man can now become rich from "church" unchecked, unquestioned and unchallenged. it is a total disgrace and it what mcmillen says about church format being arrived at through proof-texting is spot-on. nowhere does the scripture say we have a church who is under a pastor and he preaches once per week in a pulpit and without his preaching there is no body life. these things aren't there because they create HIERARCHY which is a complete contradiction of body life.
mcmillen also makes the point that the bible does not list any qualifications for pastors. if you think about it, that means "church under THE pastor" ends up becoming a polluted free-for-all. this has invited in td jakes, steven futick, joel osteen, craig groeschel and on and on. and everyone thinks it is legit. WELL IT IS NOT LEGIT. this has happened because of man-made tradition which only serves to contradict and counteract many teachings in scripture. i have watched "church" after "church" where sunday service is more important than love one another. love one another is actually in the bible, sunday service is not.
i don't 100% agree with mm, but he shows a ton of understanding of what God has done in Christ, far better than many so-called "pastors" who do a wonderful job of getting people to personally support them and their "awesome church" but no so much for love one another.

I have been following Christ since 2017 and I have struggled with having a steady church home. Corey it is hard to keep attending churches that don't line up with scripture. This is what I have encountered: 1. A lot of preaching and no teaching. 2. Everyone running the church, except the pastor. 3. The pastor has been married two or three times, while the first wife still lives. 3. The pastor is in a fraternity and wears his Greek letters in the pulpit, and has masons on the deacon board. 4. Homosexual worship leaders and musicians. 5. It's all about the pastor, not God. 6. Female pastors...I'll stop there. This is what all of the churches in my town are about. I LOVE church, but not what it has become. It's not the same. All I wanted was the pure truth of God's word, no compromising. I'm not condemning or shunning church. I just feel it pulls me away from God, because they have too much going on. I've been praying for a church home where I can be grow spiritually. I've learned more about God and His word outside of church. It's sad. I'm not perfect, but I am new to the faith. It's very easy to end up following the wrong thing, because you think it's ok because the pastor is doing it.

He is actually correct about all he said, all are responsible for their own iniquity. Its all pagan set up. It was only Jacob gathering, it wasn't everyone. The sinners were not gathering with the priests. The priests served in the temple but the people stood outside. They also didn't gather every week.
“Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭4‬:‭21‬-‭26‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“They that trust in the LORD Shall be as mount Zion, Which cannot be removed, But abideth for ever. As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, So the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever. For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; Lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity. Do good, O LORD, Unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts. As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: But peace shall be upon Israel.”

He is right and Corey is wrong.
“According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain. Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's; whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's; and ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.”
    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬-‭23‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    He used the scriptures correctly.
“And the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein; but have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them: therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink. I will scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for cunning women, that they may come: and let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters. For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we spoiled! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast us out. Yet hear the word of the LORD, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbour lamentation. For death is come up into our windows, and is entered into our palaces, to cut off the children from without, and the young men from the streets. Speak, Thus saith the LORD, Even the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the harvestman, and none shall gather them. Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised; Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.”

It is important to gather as saints. It expressly and explicitly says why to gather in Hebrew 10:25…and it’s implicated as to why the author of Hebrews wrote that verse. Because there were people who more than likely expressed the same sentiment as this so-called pastor. In the beginning of the Church, the gospel was referred to as “The Way”. Jesus told us that “The Way” would be difficult or hard (Matt 7:13-14) the word used in Greek means “persecuted”. We follow Christ as He is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). This is a path we should not walk alone as believers (although it will feel that way at times)….so why do we gather? Because our adversary the devil is as a roaring lion and walks to and fro seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). If you ever watched a lion hunt, he waits for one to be by himself, alone or in isolation…then he attacks. He’ll sow seeds of doubt, confusion, dissension, complaints, etc. To take you off the path of The Way. And we gather as Saints to encourage, exhort, uplift and pray for one another. We need one another. How good and how pleasant it is to dwell together in unity! But don’t be of those who sacrifice to the god of convenience…and feel that meeting with the saints is inconvenient….because soon it will start to erode at your faith…then you will say that about reading your word…then your prayer life will change for the worse…then you can find yourself off of the path and in a ditch spiritually. Because there is the ditch of the world on the right, the flesh on the left and behind you the enemy pursues. But keep you mind on the Good Shepherd….Christ! Who always leads us in triumphant procession as we spread the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. He leads us like a shepherd leads his flock, although we may not be able to see his footprints. He leads and never forsakes. Trust in Jesus Christ. Amen!

Salvation is a relationship, not a prize.
Scripture tells us that those who seek God will find Him. You can have a relationship with God that is eternal or you can freely walk away from that relationship at any time which leads to an eternity without God. Nothing is ever “lost”.

I think it is very disingenuous to reduce Hebrews 10:25 to being about something as superficial as church attendance and casual fellowship.
The author of Hebrews wrote that epistle to the Hebrew Christians because they were under enormous pressure to reject the New Covenant, abandon the Body of Christ and return to Judaism.
The flow of that passage is:
The old covenant was only a shadow of the ultimate covenant.
Animal sacrifice was meant to be a harsh reminder of ongoing sin and how it separates us from a relationship with God, not a means of actual redemption.
Only the sacrifice of Jesus can bring redemption
Therefore, Do not lose faith in Christ
Encourage each other not to lose faith in Christ
Do not abandon the Body of Christ as others have done
For if you reject Christ and abandon the faith then there remains no more atonement for your sin and you will live in Hell for eternity.
    *********
Reducing that passage down to what amounts to “go to church or go to hell” is tantamount to returning to the Law…the irony of that is gut wrenching.

Church building is an obvious deviation from God's will, that's why non of the Christ apostles build Church (building) even in the cases where so many people were saved (Acts 11:21), but there were no Church buildings, it must be for a reason because on the other hand there were synagogues or buildings (for the Jews).
The body of Christ (Church) is still manifested in our days without a building by gathering of saints at someone's home.

for a true mature christian, theres no reason not to go to church. none. satan will influence you or try to deceive you from not going to church for different reasons, but the bible is clear about that. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:25. too many christians became too comfortable sitting on their couch sunday listening to a sermon online and neglect their local church, and the importance of being under a spiritual authority or leader, bcz they think going to church and enjoying the fellowship with the other saints is overrated, but also this way they dont have to give any money to the church. offerings, lol. if you try to find reasons not to go to church bcz you feel criticized or rejected, or the pastor doesnt give good teaching, or hes not a loving pastor but a false greedy one, or you dont feel loved or no one is talking to you, etc, then, you could look for another church where you will be happy and feel good about everything. no church is perfect. the truth is that you look for reasons not to go to church bcz your love grew cold and your love for the brothers and sisters in the lord also. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 john 1. so, you are in the dark in fact if you dont love going to church which is us . the believers and you dont like to have fellowship, and you dont like praising God and worship him with the congregation, or listening to God teaching you the Word through the pastor, and if u have a gift you dont like to use it in the church for the body of Christ. . and jews were meeting in the temple or in the synagogue which was the house of God, just like the building where saints gather , which is like a house of God or a house of prayer. its just sad, and satan laughs.
