- Vividly remember sitting in front of the TV (at age 15) taping this performance from the 1983 Grammy awards show. The Moonglows- with Harvey Fuqua, Pete Graves, Chuck Lewis, Doc Williams and Billy Johnson performing "The Ten Commandments Of Love" from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, February 23, 1983.
- Komedie
I remember being 11 and watching it with my dad who was explaining to me what a great song it was. I sat and listened and then started to research on my own who they were. I fell in love with Bobby Lester's smooth baritone voice. Still get butterflies when I hear "when I'm with you". Just a great group
This is may favorite song in A Bronx Tale. The bikers met their fate in the bar.
A treasure I remember -- I, too, taped it in front of the TV, tho I was a little older (22 then). The man on the far left, doing the spoken recitation, is the late Billy Johnson, the Moonglows' guitarist who did the recitation on the original 1957 record.
And go through life wearing a smile!! 100%
Skilled musicians. Lovely
Doc Williams was a very good friend of mine rip
Had the pleasure of meeting Harvey many years ago. Sweet memories for me!
Fabulous ❤
The man doing the "recitation" is Billy Johnson, who also performed on the ORIGINAL recording.
. He was the Moonglows' guitarist. After he left the Moonglows, he went with Jackie Wilson, then with Brook Benton and Motown.
