    There’s a trend among CZcamsrs to exaggerate the dynamic range in their voice. In any given sentence you’ll start speaking at an audible volume and end in a whisper. Phrases are also punctuated by pitch, so one word will be a higher than average and another will be so low it’s out of your register completely. At best it’s distracting but I actually had to back up in a several places to catch what you said.
    I’m only saying this because it looks like you put a lot of effort into making good content, hopefully you’ll appreciate the feedback. 🙏

      @@SoundBoiFGC no way! How could you play so optimally as Cody using the pad? I too use a PS4 controller but have tried forcing myself to use the arcade stick so I could charge lv2 zonk and press more buttons. I've watched a bunch of your Cody zonk tips and still can't fathom it. I know you tend to press Lp and Hp to charge but how can you press that and press other buttons like you do? What's your controller figuration? I really want to get good with Cody and stay on controller.
      You're also one of my favorite Cody players to watch. Good job at the Capcom Pro Tour. It's nice seeing a Cody of your Calibur. Would love to listen to any tips you have for me as a first time Cody player. I can't wrap my head around the charge button mechanic, while staying fully optimal with Anti airs, full whiff punish conversions, combos, etc. Any help is appreciated.

    • @SoundBoiFGC
      @SoundBoiFGC  Před 2 lety +1

      @@sleazy9029 Thanks for the kind words, it's really appreciated!
      In terms of controller configuration I use the default layout with my 3xP button (L1) changed to Vskill. This is so I can hold zonk on Lp or ex zonk on Lp + Hp and still consistently sway or double kick whenever it's appropriate.
      For zonk holding you've got two choices really, either Lp or Hp, and both come with pros and cons.
      Lp is my preference and in order to make it work I have to switch my grip. My thumb holds Lp and I can still use the base of it to hit Lk. I bring my index finger down to the face buttons and use the side of my finger, more specifically the side of the knuckle just below my nail, to hit the mediums. Lastly I use my middle finger to hit my heavies. It's awkward at first but I have no issues at all performing fundamentals like AAs, whiff punishes etc, but the obvious downside is having to use a new grip when you want to use zonk that's going to feel weird for a while. Another small con is also losing jab pressure on a knockdown as it's really strong, but you could always let go during an animation once you've secured that knockdown.
      Hp is your second option and you dont have to switch grips or anything awkward. The main change in your approach is going to be that you'll have to air to air with something like jump Mp in order to stop jump ins. It's far more comfortable and easier I think, but you'll be losing your crush counter Cr Hp and your 6f St Hp, which the latter is an optimal punish some of the time and a situational but strong whiff punish.
      There's a hidden third option too, which is to not hold normal zonk at all. Some players I know don't particularly bother with it and would rather have access to all their buttons and only utilise ex zonk. All of Cody's buttons are mad strong, so I can see the appeal to having all of them on deck until you want to smash them with a lvl2 ex zonk.
      It's up to you as the player to decide what you want to do really, I think all 3 are reasonable decisions depending on how you want to approach Cody as a character or how you want to play a particular matchup. Any tips you need I can always throw some advice your way if I can, I'm happy to help. I'm around on the Cody discord a lot so you can easily find me there.

      @@SoundBoiFGC I appreciate the time and consideration that went into your response. Pretty much answered all of the questions I had. I knew there was some trick to being so optimal as your are on pad! I guess I'll just practice more and try to get used to that setup. I've played claw for FPS shooters for many years and never thought to apply it to FG, it should it help
      And yeah I've seen your crazy whiff punishes with Standing Hp.
      Your dedication to the character over the years is inspiring. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, very insightful! Would you mind sending that discord link?

    • @SoundBoiFGC
      @SoundBoiFGC  Před 2 lety +2

      Yeah nearly all of this is relevant, main difference is VT1 (Knife) is much better now. The Anti Air cr hp can be cancelled for big damage so now they’re encouraged to stay grounded which is really really good.

    • @kenshin2820
      @kenshin2820 Před 2 lety +1

      @@SoundBoiFGC would you consider making another quick guide? Or do you have further tips for VT1 that’S better suited for comments. Also,which situation would it be better to use the VT2?

    • @SoundBoiFGC
      @SoundBoiFGC  Před 2 lety +1

      @@kenshin2820 I don't have as much time these days to create a guide unfortunately, but I can always offer advice.
      In terms of VT1, the entire premise is to score big reward from neutral interactions, so landing a counter hit st hp for example will net you ridiculous reward if you followup correctly with the mp hp target combo. Counter hit st mk also goes into the mp hp target combo, which is great considering st mk is your main poke anyway and a great one at that.
      VT1 also makes ex zonk on block a real mixup because the opponent can no longer walk back, as cr lk cr lp cancelled into ruffian kick is a real low check. Without VT1 you do not have a low check after ex zonk on block.
      VT1 pressure in the corner is crazy strong also, cr mp is +4 on block and goes into itself 3 times, knife toss is +3 and gives you a throw or button mixup.
      You can also tick throw off of cr mp which is super rare and super strong.
      Cr lk is an amazing activation especially to call out shimmy, it happens very fast and still combos into mp hp target combo for a knockdown and a guaranteed oki situation.
      As for choosing either VT1 or VT2, there's multiple ways of thinking and other high level Cody players will go about it differently. For me though, it's entirely preference based on how you want to play and based on how much you value vshift in the meta.
      Long story short, if you want a more traditional SFV Vtrigger where you pop it as soon as you get it for a buff and near guaranteed value, go VT1.
      If you want to utilise your vmeter for a lot of vshift and vreversal in order to return to neutral/maintain a lead, I'd go VT2 purely for burst comebacks only when you absolutely have to. I would not pop it as soon as you get it, as the value of VT2 against high level opponents is nearly entirely based around your initial activation, and getting it wrong and getting stuck in neutral is very much a bad thing.

    Guys pls, how do u manage to hold square and R1 while having an extra finger to press triangle

    • @SoundBoiFGC
      @SoundBoiFGC  Před rokem

      How I do it on pad is by holding square with the tip of my thumb and R1 with my middle finger, and curving my index finger a bit so i can hit triangle and circle with the side of your finger/knuckle, and I can still hit X with the base of my thumb.
      You'll find a hold that works for you, that's just what I prefer to hold.

    • @SoundBoiFGC
      @SoundBoiFGC  Před rokem

      @@jizojeyg6792 No problem man. And depending on what controller type they use you'll get different answers. I know stick and hitbox guys have a technique where they hold all the buttons and negative edge release to get their buttons, or at least I think that's what it is. I'm no stick player lol.
      Other pad guys I know, some of em do lp and mp so they can keep st hp for anti airs and cr hp to fish for crush counter. When Problem X was playing Cody for a bit that's what he preferred to do. All just preference at the end of the day, hell you could even hold triple punch on L1 and just poke with st mk and buffer with st lk to get the ex zonk off, just so long as you find it comfortable. Just be aware you'd be forced to Air to Air with all holds other than the lp and mp one since you still have access to hp.

      @@SoundBoiFGC Thank u for taking ur time and answering as clearly as possible. It is a very interesting subject and I dont know why other youtubers haven't made a video going into more details. When u are in a competitive match the buttons u chose to hold could be the difference between life and death since u have to let go entirely of some features and even more impressing when a good Cody uses that to his advantage, that's what makes this character the coolest imo
