It all started because the Gods didn’t invite Eris to a party
They had a good reason for not inviting Eris, knowing how awful she is and she causes discord, disagreements and making bloody wars for Ares to enjoy. She is an evil deity
@@racheltang2646 Agreed she'd only cause trouble for Thetis's wedding.
It is dissrespectfull not to invite a relative to a great party. 😠
Well she crashed every single party she was on.
It was because Athena, Hera, and Aprhodite were consumed by vanity. And it was Paris for choosing someone else's woman over all else.
I feel very bad For Trojan Women and Hector's Son! They didn't deserve this
Yes but a lot of histories are like that
So what do you suggest ?
Why not Jahaan?
Astyanax survives in one version.
@@CarlosAlberto-sh9wh we are interested in homers version other are written much later
They truly became immortal after 3000+ years its still one of the most well known stories.

Man, nobody ended up looking like heroes in this ending.
Except they were the Trojans would've did the same.
@@rxbitvzzinbvztin8730 Hence why I said nobody looks like heroes.
this is war, the Greeks won, and saved their men, which prevented many widows and fatherless children. the trojans started the war by kidnapping helen and refusing many times to give her back
@@Lucerna999 I know this is a war. But let’s not act like they didn’t do some horrendous things on both sides.
@@KingNazaru of course, but war is horrendous. thats how it is, espiecally in those times. if you're talking about how they killed children and women, it had to be done. i would of done the same thing if i was odyseuss, that kid would definitley come back for revenge
And Helen again used her tears and physical attributes to get what she wanted. Helen must have been beautiful but she wasn’t a nice person. Everything happened because of her. I don’t believe she was abducted by Paris.
Depends on the version, the cypria for example talks about how Aphrodite helped Paris and made her fall in love with him
Helen is a perfect example of a modern day woman
@@mansour9790 facts
In almost all versions Helen is innocent. She waas bewitched by Aphrodite to love Paris in the main version. In another version she didn't even go to Troy, Paris got a decoy made from clouds and she went to Egypt where she ess protected until Menelaus randomly found her again.
Actually in one version we learned here in Greece, it was Helen who killed Deiphobos before Menelau's eyes.
Now I expect a detailed, 3 part series on The Odyssey. I’m too emotionally invested.
Great job. Bravo. Encore!
Incl diomedes's journey too
@@in5n880 I would love to see a separate video detailing the adventures of Diamedes.
For those interested in the Aeneas story, there is a movie duology about him, composed of the 1961 film "The Trojan War" (in which he appears as a supporting character) and its 1962 sequel "The Avenger" (this time as the protagonist). In both installments, he is played by Steve Reeves.
Hi, do you know the soundtrack's name? Thank
Also the Fury of Achilles 1962 could fit in that.
Aeneas' journey to making Proto-Rome in the Aenied was just as painful. He went through even more pain and suffering cause even after Troy, Hera was still angry at Aeneas and the Trojans that escaped with him.
The prophecy about how Aeneas' Trojans will eventually crush Hera's favorite City, Carthage didn't help either.
He started it even at the beginning. Made Queen Dido his love doll and caused her death on the day he left Carthage.
at least the trojans got their revenge because the romans the descendants of trojans conquered the greeks
Can't believe Menelaus fell for the classic "I didn't mean to cheat, I still love you baby" lol
"It didn't mean anything to me"
Is that wrong
@@boystarr99maybe it didn’t
And just like that such a good series has ended…😢. Great retelling of a great classic, thank you.
Time for The Odysssey perhaps? Or maybe the Aeneid
Easily the greatest story in all of mythology IMO. This series was awesome. I always wanted them to do a follow up on Aeneas' story after the "Troy" movie. Super interesting ending for him that would come back to haunt the greeks when the Romans conquered them all.
That’s propaganda and I don’t see why anyone would side with the Trojans
@@diligentjeans6416 Well that's your opinion my G. I'm Italian so it has merit to me.
What an emotional roller coaster, great narration
Great story - one of the most well-known of all. Most versions show Prince Astyanax as a baby. Prince Helen's alone, out of Priam's and Hecuba's sons, survived. Aeneas would meet Helenus on his travels in the Aeneid.
I believe in one myth, the Greeks killed all of Hector's family including his wife but still the child's death was truly the saddest of all. The Greeks did achieve victory but at what cost? Many of these Greek heroes would end up having a tragic end on the way back homes so their victory was practically bittersweet.
To recite my previous comment, only 3 greek leaders Agamemnon, Pyrrhus, and sort of Odysseus had a bad fate. Everyone else actually made it home safe or colonized another region. Diomedes actually made it home safe and did have a wonderful fate and was made immortal
Also the Catalogue of Ships reinforces this With only 8-13 out of the 49-55 Greek Kings suffering or dying before or in the end. In fact, after the war Diomedes, Thoas, Menestheus, Idomeneus, Meriones, Philoctetes, Menelaus, Nestor, Thrasymedes, and several others and their dynasties lived successfully even past the Dorian migrations. Plus we all know the Greeks and Roman's eventually became united and culturally unified during the Roman empire
Astianax's(αστιανακτας) name comes from Αναξ(anax) meaning king and the River strimon(στρυμονας) near troy.
@@Nikos-o-gamer what does that relate to my comment tho?
@@rxbitvzzinbvztin8730 I’m confused I was told that the Roman’s conquered all of greese
All that pain in destruction and death and for what for a beauty pageant for too selfish people and selfish gods hope it was worth it. Will we get the Odyssey next?
The true cause was one goddess who wasn't invited to a wedding party so she plant back golden apple there and the rest was dark history. Truly the gods were nothing but trouble

I was just about to comment the same, can you guys do the aeneid? Please?

thank you for your incredible work completing this amazing series
I can't believe they did that to that poor kid. it was just awful. I don't think Helen should've been forgiven. the war ended, but I feel like it wasn't a fair ending. they tossed an innocent child from the top of the walls of Troy.
Heartfelt thanks to all who worked for this great production. The Trojan War Saga was a fitting artwork to the classic epic "the Iliad". But the famous epics were two, "The Iliad" and "The Odyssey". After the Trojan War where Man fights among kings, heroes, villains, demigods and Gods, follows the Journey back home, a journey we take next to Odysseus who faces unfathomable hardships but has developed uncanny abilities throughout the Iliad to counter them. But he is not alone, as Goddess Athena stands by his side in this near impossible quest, meaning that wisdom and his wits, will be the hero's main weapons.
Within the story of the Odyssey, greek sages of the old, included unspoken secrets. Odysseus' Journey back home to Penelope symbolizes the Hero's journey back home to find his Soul, a journey that transcends the material existence. We would very much love to see new artworks for "The Odyssey", completing the Classic Epics accordingly and i sincerely hope you will do this next.
PS1. I would really like to see what happened to the main heroes in their return home (excluding Odysseus whose story is a saga itself), but before this, the lighting of the beacons - Φρυκτωριες, a system of communication in long distances by flaming torches (an idea that was copied in lord of the rings), which the Greeks used to convey the message throughout Greece that Troy was at last conquered
PS2. For those who don't know it, there is another lovely work inspired by the Epics, which you can see in some parts on youtube, called "Epic - the musical"
Thank you for this series of really awesome videos depicting the (almost) complete story of the mythological Trojan war.
Brilliant retelling of Troy, I can't wait to see what's next.
Before The Odyssey And The Aenied, I hope to see the aftermath for the other Greek Kings.
The storms that sunk many ships by the gods
Agamemnon death
Diomedes banishment
Menelaus being lost for ten years.
Although I think not bringing up the assault of Cassandra in Athenas temple was a missed shot
Whatever, most obscure Greek kings actually had a happy ending including Diomedes and Menelaus
Plus Diomedes didn't even take part In the bloodshed.
Don’t forget the death of Neoptolemus. They really downplayed how psychotic he was, in some versions Neoptolemus smashes Hector’s son against the walls of Troy until he died
@@megabladechronicles962 in other versions he uses Hector's ? sons as boxing gloves to beat Priam
@@Aggelos-tv3ep I forgot about that, now I really want to see Orestes (or Apollo depending on the version) take him down

I have truly enjoyed this whole "Trojan War Saga".
Hope you would soon start "The Odyssey".
Great story telling!
I've loved this story since I was a child and watching this rendition is a dream come true. I hope you adapt, not only the Odyssey, but also the Nostoi (or rather what we know about it) and of course the Aeneid.
Fascinating and Compelling Video on the entire series on the Trojan War

Next up: complete Diomedes story - man was the part of 2 biggest Greek epics. He deserves it

Have to make a comment about what an absolute chad Aneas was! He fought bravely in the war even after all the other Trojan heroes had fallen and then rather than abandon his crippled aging father, he carried his father on his back and took with him his own son embodying the ideal son and father in one act.
Good video 👍🏻
The sacking of Troy is amazingly gruesome, violent, and horrific.
Pls Arthurian legend next

This was my favorite story.
Troy: *Gets destroyed by the Greeks*
Aeneas: "Don't worry, my brothers. I shall avenge you..." *Proceeds to unzip*
He never avenged them. The Greeks and Roman's lived in relative peace and eventually unified.
@@AutonomousUltraInstinct69 in fact, a majority of the Greek cities opted to join the Roman Republic even before actium

mahabharata fans dont deserve it

ashwathamas power being greater than karna's is always ignored
the old king vahlika who fought on the kuru side, who was bhishma's uncle he gets ignored each time

Now what's coming is the single vid that combines all 36 eps. The sad thing is that all this is because 2 goddesses weren't given the prized apple, with a trophy wife running away to b with her *true* love. You should do one on the Aeneid
@Pro Token420 no as in the founding of Rome, how the young prince led the last of the Trojan people to a new home.
A great story still but what left me wondering. What did the gods who supported the Trojans did after the victory?. Ancient Greek gods are quite vengeful and sometimes petty. So I'm assuming the Trojan supporting gods would have done something.
i watch this series 33 video its awesome
,its really diffrent from the movie "troy"
Hey I want more of this story
You should cover the Odyssey
I just love the fact that most of them die tragically after slaughtering civilians, and committing theft. With Odysseus and his crew suffering the most as he indirectly and directly caused even his own allies to die. With him dying in the telegony.
I was hoping this would be the end of the Trojan war but maybe I might be wrong but I don’t know for now.
Please make odssy and Aenid
But for Odysseus, ending the Trojan war was only half the journey home.

Can't imagine being in war for ten years and with so much blood shed.
And for what, for one woman. Losing great heroes such as Achilles, Hector, and Ajax all for Helen. There's no celebration, no true victory, so many lives lost for one. It was not worth so many years of war.

In Disney's Hercules TV series the war is actually a prank war between Athens and Troy houses of learning . Helen is homecoming Queen and is kidnapped hence why Homer the storyteller "spiced" it up a bit
