He doesn’t wanna get out, he just wants to make this lifestyle more comfortable for him.
Sad but true.
@Mark Terry .... Is that you singing Johnny Cash and playing the guitar... love it... Btw, brings back some wonderful memories... my Dad had a band and he would sing that Johnny Cash song too! 😊
He's a tool theif. Dude is a piece of shit who will ruin other people's lives for his next fix. Saying this as a heroin addict
Yes, it seems like a common thing here....

Todd seems to think he is above others on Skid Row. He is like every addict I have ever known. He is a liar and a manipulator. He is in total denial. He cannot move forward until he owns his addiction.
@Brunette Beauty Perfectly said.... 💯
Real big facts!!!!!
@Brunette Beauty 😆 😆 😆. I needed that laugh.
The man built a fortress on skid row
His story's have to be fake.. he's just high on crack and so happy to do an interview for money to get more crack
I find this kind of talk exhausting. I give you so much credit for listening to one story after another. This man is a con and is working so hard conning himself about how talented he is, how different his is from other addicts, how easily he could skip away from his habit. Sounds like talking to an alcoholic who wants to talk about each and every drunk and how much they can drink and still be the smartest person in the room.
I agree with your sentiments.
I agree. After watching this I can see how he was hustling Mark the whole time in his original video.
THIS Guy doesn't

Constantly"
He's the ultimate "Liar & Victim." He's a legend in his own mind. He's not even a good con.
He's highly intelligent. Troubled but highly intelligent.
He invited his wife up to skid row to visit his tent.
Fuck yeah she flipped out.
I can only imagine the horror.
Just invited her casually to dinner at his place, gave her the address
He needs incentive to return to her. He literally prefers to live in Skid Row than live with her. That's fucked up.
My tent was nice too dude
All of the "females" around must have made her feel real comfy.

Right like he says I agree mark these addicts take take and take. Like bro you just stole marks money
Right... His 'but anyway ', threw me off. At least apologize and thank Mark. Something... I don't get how Mark is able to easily pardon this behavior time and time again. I don't have this type patience or forgiveness. Some peoples entitlement is so over the top.
One of the more subtle effects of cocaine is the slow advent of low level psychosis, very well demonstrated here. It's often mistaken for denial, but it's really just a false view of reality eg I always do well at everything I do
I think you've hit the nail on the head.
Yes you are right I was a crack head and thought I was amazing
Makes sense. Even a little snort of snow makes you feel like a Rockstar. Could imagine the feeling taking over after years of heavy abuse.
Audience, at 1:45 he's telling the TRUTH. I've seen in person a homeless man with a well built portable home underneath a drain area under a sewer area. Now it didn't flood out, but you could fish from his front door ONLY if it heavily rained. I'll NEVER forget, there was an environmental court complaint, and I was able to view police check on the complaint. This guy had a portable stove burner, clean dishes, small ice box with cold foods/beverages. This guy had a twin foldable bed, fresh jugs of water, with battery lamps. He was super smart and grid free. I hated he was arrested for just taking care of himself with a good living away from public view. He had clean folded clothes, and his place was clean, with a febreze smell. In court the judge didn't fine him, but advised him just not to rebuild.
Can’t believe how he complicates his life and blames everyone but himself. Insanity.
Crack is a helluva drug ~ Rick James
He does get women like crazy they won't stop flacking over him.
DRUGS R INSANITY!! U SEE WHO HE REALLY CAN B BUT THE DIFFICULTY OF ADDICTION IS A BEAST!!
Yes, insanity, she loved him very much that why she put sugar in my gasoline tank, put me to jail. Looks like He enjoys his tragedies
Right...lol
What a joke
Interview the wife.
@Zert Teyyy damn kinda rude
Had I been invited by my Husband to go see where he was staying and it became painfully clear he was spending thousands on Ho’s Sugar in his gas tank would be the least of the consequences. 🙄
What's her addiction? Nagging?
The depression he gets from not using crack is part of the withdrawal. He needs to get over that period (it'll be months) and then assess whether he has depression or not
He forgot to mention the heated pool and artificial ski slope. I feel like he's being overly modest.
Indeed, and the mercedes and room for a pony and a swimmingpool...😉
lol
This guy is never going to change.
Todd has a problem with facing reality. I pray that he realizes that HE is the problem, and gets the help that he needs.🙏🏾
I've been binge watching these videos non-stop. They are fascinating recollections of the human condition. They not only make me think about the people being interviewed and their actions but also about us, the audience. Why are we so fascinated with these people? What do these videos say about us?
I watch and see parts of my self in these videos in certain ways. I just don't use drugs as a solution to solve my problems.
I think we are so fascinated because we could be like them. Taking hard drugs seems like opening a box that should never be opened. Once you become aware of the immediate reward value presented by drugs, it's probably natural to be extremely tempted by them over investing in the slow, long term rewards of working on yourself. That's what I think anyway.
I think, But for the Grace of God, go I. I used drugs in the late 60s and 70s and lived it up on sex and rock n roll. Then in a twist of events that left me far from home and desperate, I fell on my knees and prayed, suddenly I left Miami and found myself in church asking God for forgiveness for screwing up my life so bad. He met me there and I've been changed since turning to Him instead of drugs. I see myself and where I would be today had Jesus not rescued me. Theres hope but its not in the next high, we all need a change of heart, will and desires. TYJ

This man has a story for everything. And not once has he said anything was his fault!
Nah he did take responsibility for things, especially in his first interview. He said people robbing him was his own fault and a few other things.
It's amazing, and sad, to see how he changed so much from his last interview. He justifies everything now and doesn't seem to want help any longer.

Mark, your such a nice respectful man in your interviews. I don’t know how you have so much patience.
Wait til Victor pulls a gun on him.... "So do ya have any kids" lolz, dosent miss a beat.
HE'S ABSOLUTELY AWESOME
Reminds me somewhat of my husband. We have been together 20 years and 4 years ago he went "out" now he's been clean almost 4 years thank God! Now we are the happiest and closest we have ever been. We are starting a new plumbing business and off to a great start. He was using heroin and speed together. Then he decided to get clean with the help of suboxone. Now he's almost off of that but that definitely served its purpose. Listening to this man reminds me of my husband as far as being resourceful when he was out on the streets running around. I wouldn't let him stay here at our home because I'm an x addict and couldn't have that at the house even though I loved him so much. I went to places trying to find him to save him while jeopardizing my sobriety. It was just pure hell for about 3 years then finally he gave it up completely.
Love from Canada Holly! I hope everything’s good!!!
You did right. People have to see the devastation of addiction to know we need help. I hope you are both doing well, today! I got out of addiction with my man. It’s not impossible, but it takes two to make it happen (and a whole lot of community support, professional help…whatever it takes). Suboxone saved me life. I have a painful physical condition that requires treatment. When people self-treat on the streets, polyaddiction is almost inevitable. Physical dependency on opiates is what kept me in the streets. With that under control, I use exercise and nutrition to keep me “up”. You’re a strong person. Thanks for your inspiring story! ❤️🩹
So many negative comments on Todd’s video. He is still a human being! I wish you well Todd, I hope that you take your creative talents elsewhere, make it back to your family, and maintain sobriety!! Sending you and yours all the love !

People need a reality check. He's delusional and he's been smoking crack everyday. He needs people to be honest with him and direct him in the right direction.
I agree. Much love to Todd, and hope for his struggle. ❤️. There is more out there than AA/NA. He’d do well with Smart Recovery. If not, there are other supports. I hope he googles Groups Recover Together. There are groups that won’t shame you, just help to lift you up. If AA/NA works for you, work it. Anyone who is addicted to crack, etc, really shouldn't brag primarily about how good they are at things. Such a person won't get anywhere (good) without an overwhelming sense of humility. This guy needs to stop bragging about how talented he is, stop talking about the people who have screwed him over, focus on the fact that he has screwed himself over and change his life for the better, then report back. I've met people like him...learned I couldn't trust a thing they said.
It’s the drugs talking.
Agreed , the crack is attacking his life force.... he has so many amazing skills and is quite personable... hope he gets out of the mess
I'm thinking the same thing too.. he has much potential and talents. If he could get off the drugs and use that energy for good things he could make such a difference..

You nailed 🔨 it! He needs to reach out to people in recovery. It doesn’t have to be AA/NA. There are a lot more options now. His brain is hijacked. He needs to ask the survivors how they’re doing it, with all due respect 🫡. He’s a personable and intelligent man…lots of strength there, to build on. ❤️🩹
Todd is a prime example and truthfully stated that anyone can become an addict. Despite his circumstance he still manages to not comprime his soul and has boundaries. Very impressive and has some deep routed inner strength.
For a guy who drives around stealing tools as a "hustle," he sure likes to whine a lot about his stuff getting stolen!

2007s skid row is a great documentary about it, though outdated. The problem is 10× worse than it was in 2007. Lost in America is another good doc about homelessness in America. It's a real problem all over but Skid Row is like something out of a movie. It really is unbelievable to see.

Why would someone invest that much time and money into a place on skid row?
Because they like getting high and everything you need to get high is all there, easy access
Because people do what they can with what they have
Skid Row's full of drug addicts who are choosing to stay addicted and live with the bare minimum, rather than create a better life for themselves.
California's a democrat shithole state that enables this behavior and that's why it's full of losers.
Sacrifices have to be made in order to stay clean and they're not willing to give up the drug and make them.
Makes no sense.

Why do you comment when you don't know anything about addiction.
I definitely feel for him as far as the way the city handled tearing down his building. Even though Mark is probably right that fighting that fight is pointless, there is something visceral that comes out in some people when the government fucks with your property.

Majority of these addicts will unfortunately NEVER change. I have family members who are hooked on drugs and alcohol, and they CHOOSE their habits over there own children! It’s weird to see him delude himself by bragging he is a good dude, hard worker and that he got all these nice qualities from his mom when his story is quite the contrary. He makes a lot of excuses for his problematic life situation so he can continue to smoke crack and not look in the mirror and recognize how badly he messed up life for himself and those around him. He is somewhat of a narcissist who wants all people to think highly of him and paradoxically wants love from people who are the least likely to give it to him while spurning the love of those who really would so easily care( like his kids and wife). thereafter he complains about how he gets robbed and treated like crap. Well yeah the karma comes around and instead of loving the family who needs him and really would provide sustainable and unlimited love, he tries to nurture and fix people far down the hole....Maybe to atone for the sins of his own dysfunctional parents. Sins which aren’t really his but toxic love is all that he knows and healthy love he spurns because it is alien to him. Then when his family grows to hate him; rather than just man-ing up and making amends he uses it as justification that he should go deeper down the hole and leave them behind. Rather than face reality.
The drugs won’t let him face reality. They’ve taken over his decisions. He needs help.

If he gets clean only to go back to a dysfunctional relationship in San Diego, he's just gonna end up back in this lifestyle. I'm rooting for you Todd, you remind me a little bit of my dad. Lost him to alcohol almost 3 years ago. Hope you can live well for yourself and your kids.
I don’t believe anything that comes out of his mouth. I hope he gets help before it’s too late.
I had a feeling he wasn’t going to stick to his word.
Combine intelligence with delusions and he’s what you get.
He was in LA to visit a son , remember ?! No mention if said son ! likely non existent
I just decided. He really scares the he.. out of me.
Wishing you the best Todd
How did he have the money for all those things, and the drugs. He sounds so much like my brother! He broke my mother's heart everyday of her life!
Didn’t you watch either of his videos? He does construction
The subtext here is that he steals his supplies. It may have been 4k in lumber, but he didn't use 4k to get it.
“ i have an older brother and a younger brother” then he goes on to say he’s the youngest.... seems like he’s full of shit... sadly I don’t think he will change
He sounds like Chris Hanson lol
I wish there was a picture of his tent or mansion
When he said he’s hit bottom I thought there’s still lower to go. It would be good for him to leave... now. Whenever you think “nothing could be worse than this”, is usually when you find out how much worse it can become. Get out while the getting is (relatively) good. You may say yes to the next proposition. For your sake Todd, I hope not. Get yourself into a program, while the choice is still within your reach.
David Jones I agee he’s been there a year that’s not very long but eventually it will consume him I hope it doesn’t
Excellent advice
David...great comment, man
Todd is a crack up...no pun intended. I have a feeling things are going to end bad if he doesn't get himself help. I have a job for him in San Diego if he gets clean but he isn't gonna get it doing crack. I wish him sobriety and peace. !!
I don’t understand the negativity towards this man. I don’t think for a second he thinks he’s better than anyone. He says when he does something he does it well even drugs. It’s his gift and also his curse. He’s probably right. He’s talented he’s creative motivated when he chooses to be but he said he’s “stuck” he’s a slave to his drug. I don’t think he sugar coats it. I think he’s been as candid as he wants and when he is, expresses his difficulties. Maybe he’s embarrassed and disappointed in himself so he talks in a way that minimizes what he feels. It’s his choice to portray his life the way he chooses. It gets old feeling like a piece of shit everyday. He couldn’t even speak about his son beyond saying the words “my son” without getting emotional. No two people are the same and that doesn’t change because you’re addicted to a substance. Everyone’s an individual and needs to be treated as such. He may speak in third person but I truly believe he knows he’s speaking for himself and his experiences as well.
Thank you! 💯
When he said, "I'm unique..." says it all.
Todd reminds me of my narcissistic uncle. Nothing is his fault, he is always the victim, he only did crack because everyone else was, he is a martyr helping everyone else, he is better than his surroundings, he is great at everything, and no empathy for his wife or children he has hurt with his selfishness. He has so self-reflection to see who he really is.
