I've come to the conclusion that it is apparently very painful for the cops to simply admit they're wrong, apologize and walk away. They're so invested in their position, no matter how wrong, that they simply cannot back down.

The cops came to my home with about 10 officers and as I casually walked outside to see what the commotion was 3 cops pointed their guns in my face. They said they got a call that I was armed and dangerous. I was not armed and was completely calm and passive. The cops then entered my home without a warrant and seized my property. They then lied entirely about the incident in their report using quadruple hearsay and not including the names of the officers that entered my home. They also said I gave them my property also not true. They omitted that they had 3 guns pointed at me. I was not arrested and I have no criminal history. The cops had my mother murdered for later attempting to press charges against them. The supervising officer was Sargeant Oscar Rivera.

That answer could be yes. 901.151 says something to the effect of committing, had committed or about to commit. He hasn’t done any tense of that verb so, he’s still good, but to answer your question, they can detain you if you were about to commit a crime.

regardless of what you say above, it has already been ruled that legal activity carried out where a person is lawfully allowed to be can not be used as grounds for detainment, carrying a firearm where legal can not be used as grounds for reasonable suspicion, those are supreme court rulings, its not that difficult to learn and understand basic laws and constitutional rights, officers have no excuse for not knowing these laws, im not even from america, i was born and raised in the UK, even i know most states stop and ID laws and open carry laws, police really have no excuse, its not hard to keep up to date with laws that are common for you to run into, but here is the thing, yes as a police officer, you are going to run into laws you do not understand or know, when that occurs the thing to do before detaining someone is, follow at a discreet distance until you have spoken with the city attorney, DA or watch commander, you do your due diligence before you detain someone illegally.

I am a black man that has lived in a predominantly white neighborhood for the past 3 years in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I have been openly carrying a firearm for almost the entire time that I have been living here. I have never been stopped by the police for investigative reasons. I once had an officer approach me on foot because he was he was curious about what model of handgun I was carrying. He introduced himself by his first name, not as officer and then last name. We chatted for a few minutes and then we both went our separate ways. Whenever I leave my house to go walking, I see multiple police cars at any given time in any given place. In almost 3 years, I’ve never been stopped. Thumbs up to my local police departments for following the law!

@@Clipz425 Aston, Pennsylvania. Southeast PA, near Delaware. About 20-25 minutes from Philadelphia. We are a free state. All carry licenses are unrestricted, and we have no magazine capacity limits. You can carry openly without a license as long as you are not in a vehicle. Open carry is prohibited without a license in Philadelphia. However, we are surrounded by anti Second Amendment states. Delaware isn’t too bad. They don’t honor PA’s license so we have to get a non-resident license from a state that DE honors if we want to carry there. Most people get Utah.
Your experience is the same as 90% of all Americans. Tyrant cops will only flex on dumfuks who don't know their rights or belligerent aswholes. Most cops won't violate our rights. On the other hand, most cops will stick up for the bad cops, due to the thin blue line. That's the sad part.

When they say “it’s simple, I just need to identify you.” You should say “it’s simple, you don’t have the right according to the constitution.” When they say “I just need to do my job” you should say “your job isn’t to deprive me of my civil rights and ask for my identity. Herein lies the problem. When they are called upon they are investigating. What they don’t get is, there needs to be a crime for them to investigate but they love to “investigate “ non crimes.
