- Let's learn a simple jazz standard from 1930 together: Please Don't Talk About Me When I'm Gone. A nice easy 5 chord song for beginners to get their feet wet and an outstanding harmonic vehicle to take your playing to the neck level. Let's quickly learn this tune and then try it along with the backing track!
This month on the Magic Ukulele Club we'll be adding 9th chord substitutions to this classic chord progression and then building a chord melody solo from scratch. Join us for an hour of Video lessons, 3 livestreams, PDF, and backing track to practice along with.

Please don't talk about me when I'm gone
Oh honey, though our friendship ceases from now on
And listen, if you can't say anything real nice
It's better not to talk at all, is my advice
We're parting, you go your way, I'll go mine
It's best that we do
Here's a kiss, I hope that this brings lots of luck to you
Oh, makes no difference how I carry on
Remember, please don't talk about me when I'm gone

What strings do you recommend for a soprano? I hate the Aquila
Not a fan of Aquila either. it really comes down to there are two main types nylgut (aquila) or fluorocarbon which gives a more articulate sound. I spent years experimenting with strings and finally decided to just go ahead and develop my own set for soprano which is what I've used ever since:

@@Banjoleletinman awesome thank you so would these work on a spruce top with rosewood sides for soprano? I also have a mahogany tenor. But I want the swing/jazz technique mostly and the Aquilas were too clangy and stiff.
@@ShuTheRipper Can never say for sure how they'll sound on any specific uke but I think they, or any fluorocarbon string, will get you in the ballpark.
