      Right.. since there are other things that are related to the primary subject. Connected. Circular. Out with the bad, in with the good. All good things.

    thanks for pointing out how the booleans inside are actually pretty interesting geometry. I was tempted to discard them as i don't see the advantage of all the nondestructiveness sometimes and see the slowdowns (painting in single layer vs many layers in photoshop has burned me many years ago) but your comment and good example there made me rethink things for actually creative possibilities

    So it doesn't create an actual bevel? Only a chamfer? When I say chamfer, I mean a flat output, and a bevel is an arc output. I'm still super hyped for this tool, but every hard surface artist wants the rounded bevels. Hopefully in the next point release, because they can surely do it with the chamfering already being so good.

    • @1236688645
      @1236688645 Před 2 lety +1

      On 3ds max a chamfer is the arc and the bevel is the flat one. I guess it depends on what software you are using.
      If I remember correct, Maya/Blender is the opposite of Max. lol
      Anyway, it's a bummer they did not include the arc thing.
      I haven't tested it yet, but Michael did not go much into the subject so my guess is it's problematic.
      I'll probably update my Zbrush tonight and test

      @@1236688645 chamfer in max has always been the flat edge on a corner. bevel has always been curved. autodesk with its feet in architecture and manufacturing would never have mixed that up. 20 plus year experience with max here. i remember the 3d studio days pre max....cheers

    this was alot of fun to follow along with. i really like what you did with the bevel mesh as a cage mesh. their can be some really creative uses for that. thanks for taking the time to make these tutorials. one thing i'd like to see is the process you went through to make the fabrick leggings on the cyber bull. they look great. nice big folds and neat conforming shapes there with the fabric burshes and dynamic menu...

  • @CariagaXIII

    they should make an option the live boolean and paste to same subtool

    • @KarelChytilArt
      @KarelChytilArt Před 2 lety

      You can use folders for that. I dont try with BevelPro, but with live booleans with subtools in Folder you can do booleans functions in Folder gear icon... and that mesh will jump as subtool

  • @Ureroll
    @Ureroll Před 2 lety +2

    Holy cow the amounts of steps you had to go through to get that inset!!! This plugin adds good value to boolean operations for sure and it was long overdue, but still needs a lot of work. Seems like a poor imitation of what other software already does better [like modo for example] considering that is destructive [boleans need to be applied] and it does flat bevels only more or less. I did not play too much with it yet and I am sure it will get better/ I will get better at working around it. Excellent tutorial like always, long live zbrush

    so the bevel pro is mainly useable for high-resolution meshes? cause if you use the bevel-pro on a low poly object, it destroys the clean topology. Not quite clear when to use bevel pro? thank you very much

    No options for custom bevel shapes?!?! for example rounded bevels, is it only just angled bevels?

    • @KarelChytilArt
      @KarelChytilArt Před 2 lety

      BevelPro has now Chamfer and Bevel option, but for custom Bevel... in ZBrush in EdgeLoop.. Panel loop there is Bevel profile, but i think thats only option in ZBrush with custom bevel

    • @gvagear
      @gvagear Před 2 lety

      you can add loops with zmodeler insert edgeloop and you can set it to dynamic elevation to change the profile, although it is not equivalent of custom profil but a little more playground

    So dissapointing, i thought it was actually creating a bevel, instead it's creating a mesh used for boolean, i guess that also works but what if i wanted a chamfer?
    I guess u could just inset per polygroups or extrude offset like in maya per polygroups to create edgeloop around a polygroups but the corners will need manual work.
    Maya Bevel has chamfer, was added a couple of years ago but it can mess up on more complex shapes.

Oh well, Zbrush is still great and the updates are free so can't complain too much I guess.
