    • @jamesdunn9609
      @jamesdunn9609 Před 3 lety +19

      @@insatiablecuriosity2555 It's a horrible substitute. It is definitely better than heroin, but it has a longer half-life and is just as hard to stop. Methadone maintenance programs aren't actually treatment for the addict. They are actually designed to protect the community FROM the addict. By switching the addiction from heroin to methadone, the addict can be more functional so those programs do have some positive effects for them, but they remain addicts. What those programs actually do is lower the transmission rates of communicable diseases (leading to lower medical costs and increased community health) and the need to commit crimes to pay for their addiction (leading to lower rates of property crimes, petty theft, shoplifting, etc.). There has to be a better answer than this.

    Huge loss IMHO, Great point about "working so much means less time for rehab" Miss ya Phil

    Alcohol is THE gateway drug. I’d bet if not for picking up alcohol he wouldn’t have gone for heroin.

    Absolutely one of the greatest talents in Hollywood. Let’s not forget he invented SHARTED, well at least for me anyway 😂 Life changing word. 🙌🏼

    The voiceover tone on this is horrible. Lose the cheer in your voice when discussing a tragedy. The difference between an amateur and a pro is a pro much like a singer relates to the copy being read.

      Harvey. Have you ever lived with or loved a heroine addict? Have you ever been addicted to heroine? You are virtually powerless and the lies, behavior, the abuse, and the missing finances pull anyone down attempting to help or ‘save’ them. Addicts more often then not end up dead, and ruin, no, destroying everything around them.

    He had a separate apartment from his family so he could do drugs. He’s no hero.

      Exactly . America needs to wake up and see how destructive esteeming “UnHolywood “ .... these are just people who play pretend all their lives and get paid to do it .

      Folks in hollywood, like this guy, are the LAST people anybody should be praising, or putting on some fake pedestal. Most of them are not good people.

    Wish I'd seen him in Death of A Salesman, too steep for the tickets, though I liked his last film role A Most Wanted Man. When it's time to go, it's time to go.
