    Great tour of your van. I really fancy getting one like yours or similar. I have a small citroën c15 Romahome atm. It's a great little van, but with two dogs it's a bit small.

    • @VanOnTour
      @VanOnTour  Před 3 lety

      Great little vans the Romahomes though.

    Super. I've recently got a camelot myself so it's all the same. FYI you can fit a 13kg propane in the corner (misses the second board by a few millimeters)

    • @VanOnTour
      @VanOnTour  Před 7 lety

      This is the Camelot MK1. The gas cupboard is smaller and only takes 3.9kg propane bottles. Thanks for watching.

    Life in a Talbot express. Nothing came up.
    Will look at Stewart's channel if I find it.

    How are these on petrol I'm looking at buying a 2litre petrol

    • @VanOnTour
      @VanOnTour  Před 4 lety

      The petrol ones are the better engines. I get 30mpg on a run which is good compared to other diesel motorhomes.

  • @alexandermichael117
    @alexandermichael117 Před 4 lety

    These old vans are more trouble then they are worth,parts are few,once the engine goes you'll be buying another van,best get a newer modal with available parts,etc.

    • @VanOnTour
      @VanOnTour  Před 4 lety +2

      Parts are readily available for them. The petrol engined ones are bullet proof engines and are cam chain with no electronics to go wrong. Breakdowns are often solved in 15 mins on the roadside. They are great vans. There's a reason there's still tons of these 30 year old vans going.

      @@VanOnTour if it's a petrol van you need a big fat bank account if you want to travel any distance,I find that they are just to old,and at any speed on a motorway,your risking your life,but then,just to get to a place at a slow speed is ok,we all have a way of doing things.

      Mines 28 years old, I can get pars easily enough but will for the most part but not all, wait for delivery. Mines the same as above but 1993 and diesel.
      I had a new timing belt and water pump fitted 16 months ago and an alternator belt 4 months ago. I've owned it for two years now and used it extensively plus it's my daily driver.
      Great vans but yes, even though I dislike all the modern electrical systems since recent years plus erg valves, catalytic converters etc, I'd love something much younger and fit it out myself.
      The problem is, for their size these vans have petty much everything you need, Two single beds or one large double plus a bunk above if you have two Young children and if not then storage.
      They park in standard parking spaces and mine has power steering plus suspension helpers, it also has an eberspacher diesel heater fitted.
      If I purchased a newer van it would probably cost me more to fit it out than what I paid for this van and I didn't even have to do the work.
      I really think I'd miss it. In two years it's never missed a beat.
