We built a music room with sound isolation for our client - in this video we're demonstrating the noise difference by closing and opening the sound-reducing door - enjoy!

How to close a door?
Yes lets make a video that poses more questions than answers
Thats some real solid core door right there!
I know i'm a bit late, but what was the Db rating on that door? 32 or higher?
I love how you patently answered the peoples comments.
Simply using insulation for gaps also goes a long way. That plus a thick door is awsome
looks great
How do I soundproof my door like that??? Or how much would you charge? I live in Florida so who could I hire?
It help to become a singer
Excellent, j’espère ta technique elle marche pour tes voisins
Awesome
Hi. Can I ask which door bottom and seals did you use? Thanks for your help. Best,
How did you do it? Make a explanation video pls
An explanation video is a great idea! WiIl work on it. In the meantime to answer your question: the most important factors are are heavy and thick door, a very good wall around it, no space between the door and the wall and a very good seal (with some type of rubber or similar material to close any gaps) around the door.
@@NYSoundproofing rubber or similar material? what RUBBER MATERIAL?
@@basicPROcreator Normally either a door seal made of an aluminum strip with rubber attached to it, or just a wood door stop with rubber weatherstripping. And for the bottom of the door you can use a threshold made of aluminum and rubber and/or an automatic door bottom with a rubber strip that drops down when the door is closed. Makes sense?
@@NYSoundproofing I just glued foam insulation tape around my door. and It works for me, but I don't know if it works to the ear of my fucking neighbor. but Thank you
@@basicPROcreator Haha - generally this treatment works only for high frequencies (treble and mid), it muffles the sound, for a more complete soundproofing it may take a whole method of constructing and installing the wall and door etc. Hope this helps and for the fucking neighbor too! Lol
I want one
When I worked atthe radio station. We had 2 of thesewith a gap in the middle. Couldnt hear a thing.
Where can I buy that and is the frame custom ?
what material do you use for get tha result
Daaaaaaaam
i need 😊
How much to sound proof a basement ? I don’t want music coming out of it , when I throw parties lol.
Song?
😊 Gets me through by Ozzy Osbourne 🤘🏻
Which solid core door did you actually use for this?
1-3/4" thick solid core wood door, it's actually a pretty standard product available from most lumber yard
Bro how did you sound proof it tell us please
Sure thing! The door is a solid core wood door with a very good seal, and the wall and frame were custom built from wood and quiet rock
@@NYSoundproofing thnanks man
How about soundproofing for the floor .. my neighbors down is always complaining 🤣
The windows?
Was it built like that or is there something you did too it? Would love too know
Hi Jordan, we installed this door from scratch as a replacement for a previous existing sliding door. We installed not only a thick and heavy door with a good tight seal, but also a heavy duty frame that is installed tightly into the wall with a very good seal around it. Plus we also treated the wall around the door with MLV, green glue and QuietRock. Thanks for checking in!
Oh man that’s high tech! Thanks for the reply
@@NYSoundproofing how do you ensure a tight seal on the door? There’s a lot of light around our doors when they are shut
@@mercy4630 Sure thing, that's pretty common - there is a wide range of products available, if your existing door frame is pretty good, thick and straight then you should be able to just use weatherstripping (available from almost any home improvement store), otherwise the part of the frame that touches the door when closed may need to be removed and a better product installed. Additionally you may want to install something for the bottom of the door (such as a threshold or an automatic door bottom seal). And some doors even have a gap around them that is just covered with a thin molding, in this case the molding needs to be removed, a good amount of sealant installed and then the molding reinstalled. Hope this helps!
Can I sound proof an existing apartment floor?
😂 yea rigjt
This full rockwool or acoustic panel?
Hello! Other than the heavy airtight door, the room has double QuietRock, Rockwool and complete;ly covered in seamless acoustic panel (fabric track to all walls and entire ceiling)
How u do that
You close the door.
All the way until the dead bolt or dead latch is extended into the dead plate.. normally, I use my hand to push the door into its frame until I hear a click sound. You can kick it to close or to open as well. Every police officer is an axpert locksmith using that technique.
You think I ammmmm I met the anti Christ thee iroon maaaaaaaaan. Long live the prince of darkness
Wait how
😊 a combination of: a thick and heavy door, properly installed on a solid thick soundproof wall, with a well built frame, and 100% airproof in both the frame and door jamb (lots of acoustic caolking sealant) and a good and tight rubber door seal
Can still hear the bass !! Definitely not enough. How about then neighbours?
it’s so fake cause how the volume just die out as soon as you move the door slightly
This video is a 100% unedited phone recording
@@NYSoundproofing alr if you say so cause no way you did that great of a job sound proofing
@@Vengeance201 can personally guarantee cause I took this video myself, that's my hand closing the door, (and other hand holding the phone) and uploaded the video straight from phone to CZcams, never went through any kind of editing or processing
So how did you do it?
