  • This Cherry Stove Cover is gorgeous, but a couple simple mistakes almost wrecked the entire project.
    Thanks for watching!

I like what I have seen so far 🤗 Subbed to see more. 😊 I have been debating on making one of these for my home. We have such limited counter space i feel it would be useful.
The only thing in this video that kept throwing me was the pronunciation of Forstner bits. Is it an accent? Tamar from 3x3 Custom says ‘drawer’ in such a way it kind of throws me but she is from the NE US so understandable. Just was curious 😊

Thanks for watching! It definitely did save us some counter space.
Haha I can't blame my speech on accent, unfortunately. I just can't talk. Normally, I catch things in post, but I didn't even realize that one. Add it to my mispronounced list with wenge!

@@SpaltedStagStudio I honestly thought it was accent related so it’s all good! We all have issues with certain wood names… Padauk, Sapele, Jatoba, Macore… so all is good 😊

Great Project . I enjoy seeing mistakes. Because it let's me see that even YoubTubers aren't Perfect ! I do have a question. Wouldn't it have just been easier to cut off the stubborn dowel then sand and put a dowel on the other side ? My thinking is no damaged tenon and everything still looks as it should . I'm just a newbie asking questions.

Well, since I broke it, I guess that would have been an easier solution. That center pin is what really holds everything tight and centered. The outer ones just hold it against the other board but still allow for seasonal movement, so I was worried about it moving to much back and forth without that pin, though thr glue prolly would have held it just fine once that dried.

Thanks for the reply at 59 I'm still learning and looking for ways to keep my mind active and occupied. I was always told and taught to ask questions and if you didn't makes mistakes your not doing anything.

Exactly! "A master has failed more than the apprentice has tried." I love hearing suggestions! Sometimes, when we do something enough, I feel like our brains lock up a bit and we need some outside perspective.
