Driver on phone narrowly avoids head-on lorry crash

A VW Beetle driver has been blasted by police in Wiltshire after narrowly avoiding a crash before admitting they were distracted at the wheel. The car is shown on video narrowly avoiding a head-on crash with the lorry as it appears to veer into the opposite carriageway, forcing the oncoming HGV to swerve to avoid it.
The video, captured shortly before 8am, was posted by Wiltshire Police's Specialist Ops account at around 10am today (September 28) and calls for drivers to "pay attention to the road, not your phone". The statement went on to say it was only the quick reaction from the lorry driver which avoided a crash.
