That's the irony. The very traits they say decry as toxic masculinity are the same ones they give their strong female characters but they don't understand toxic males are rarely the heroes or they get humbled and become the hero but their heroes don't need humbling because they're already perfect

@@RoninDave bingo! Look at Madmartigan, when he was acting like that he was one step away from being a villain. It wasn't until he showed himself to be actually kind and caring that he became a hero.
And actually, Sorsha goes through that exact same arch, in the first half of the film she's arrogant and abusive and is a villain. She becomes a hero when she softens.
But the current definitions of "strong" are the opposite trajectory, if you're soft and kind, you're not a hero. If you're an arrogant jerk then you've become a hero.
Kit says, "Oh, nuts. Really?" I heard it the first time, but I'm American and for some inexplicable reason, this medieval fantasy girl speaks with the same accent I do.

With how consistently awful she is to everyone around her; the only way to redeem this character in any fashion is to make her the new evil big bad, as there is no way anyone could possibly believe this character to be remotely likable when the only character she's nice to is the would be knight she's sleeping with.

Honestly, reading the script should have caused Warwick Davis to walk away from the project. I love Warwick and he is a really cool guy who has always loved his fans. He should have known after reading this that it was going to be an insult to the audiences, but he took it anyhow. I know he has pushed for a Willow sequel for a long time, but this was not it. Many fans supported him and were excited, but now most everyone is understandably upset and disappointed. I wonder if he signed on before a script was even written, but now regrets it?

THEIR ENEMIES are the ones trying to escape.
The LAST thing anyone should be doing, in the history of cinema, is to throw a smoke bomb in this situation.
Just stand still and DIE would be of more benefit as to what theyre supposedly trying to do.
He is ACTIVELY aiding the enemy in their cause by doing this and its not bad luck or some garbage, it literally the ONLY possible outcome of this action.
(yes, you could also use smoke bombs for an ambush but they were already like 10 minutes into the confrontation at this point.)
In this episode, Kit gets told by Freckles that she is not a great fighter and was being allowed to win in their duels. Presumably on the notion that doing so would allow them to spend more time together in a more intimate way. Not that it matters much as nobody mentions anything about it again, or even suggests it would be safer if she went home.
Oh my lord, is the song they play over the credits a shit cover version of "Enter Sandman" every episode? That's just...amazing. Truly amazing. Who signed off on using "Enter Sandman: Estrogen Redux" as the theme song for a fantasy show?

Well Willow doesn't have any existing work to ruin or a huge fanbase to piss off. RoP folks had a great story to work from and made a conscious decision to screw it all up. I haven't actually watched Willow past the clips from CZcamsrs raking it over the coals, and I don't intend to. But if its worse than RoP, harder to watch, that itself deserves some kind of award.

It just hit me, with the getting to or ahead of somebody who has a good head start, that is the power of slasher villains'. Rings of power and willow are slasher movies from the perspective of the slasher.
