pokespritemaker3 I didn’t like this album at first but Sweetener grew on me I actually like every song. It’s different and I love the beats and the sounds! It’s definitely far different from Dangerous Woman and sonically it’s just a trail run for a new pop and funky sound. The adlibs I agree are a bit off but they grow on you especially the sheesh part I say it all the time now singing along to the songs! TLIC is so fun especially as a fun dance track that you can either sing to or chant the adlibs. Sweetener is an album not for everyone. I respect the opinions of other this was just my take on the album.

I checked 'Sweetener' after knowing that it won a Grammy and I was literally so confused how did the album win it, but I thought it was just me and my taste.
It turned out that this album had many bad reviews and that the Grammy awards show that year was called flop in many articles, because it cared more about popularity

@Isabella’s Art the production is EXTREMELY messy. the lyrics are not even that bad, it's THE FCKING PRODUCTION THAT FCKS EVERYTHING UP. repetitive choruses with zero beat change (blazed, sweetener, borderline), messy mashup of synth pop with trap and piano (sweetener), unfinished and rushed instrumentals (tlic), and so on. only R.E.M and gws were acceptable but they were just the ones with the less flaws (like long ass verses, 1 long minute of snaps and piano keys...) anyway idk how pharrell or herself and even the label thought "yep, it's a bop" like how????? still a whole mystery apparently
