- On today's video, I played invoker, the hardest Dota 2 hero, for the first time and tried to learn him, reporting my experience, at the end, I rated some aspects about the hero.
Sorry for the 1 week delay, this video took longer to make that I expected.

@@DotaDose_hope you reach massive success!! 🎉
the beauty of this patch after invoker got his 4-spell agh combo nerf is that you don't need to constantly dish out 3-4 spells combo anymore. its always a step-by-step invoking and one to two spells in your first 25 mins will make you effective. also because of this, invoker support works even better now and the latest patch where 3 wex orbs will give you a faster cooldown time, cold snaps are more efficient and you only need to master 2-3 spells to be effective in any given game. they've made it easier for new players to come in, learn and enjoy the game
i can give you few tips
1. Meteor when enemy is under Tornado do not use it under hero make sure meteor is rolling over the hero so it has longer duration "on top of hero" and after burn
2. vs heroes such as QOP, Void Spirit, Storm Spirit: Tornado > Sunstrike > cold snap "as they land" this combo works when they have around 50% of hp 4-5 lvls.
3. when you are losing or have hard game always make sure u have 4-4 quas/exort and just send forges down the lanes (you can always lurk around them control them for CS) and if enemy tries to push wave it's mostly an easy kill or bkb force
i have 64% winrate on the hero 600+ games.
if you want help and want to continue improving invoker you can hit me up
Thats a crazy winrate bro, rn im working on another video but I will try playing invoker and get better if I need something il say!
From my 500 games on invoker or more, the key is to adapt to the game you're playing, don't get stuck with one spell choice, know when to use your spells defensively and offensively that is very very important.
You need to adapt to situations fast, so make the spells as second nature, reach the level where spells naturally. That's when you know that you mastered invoker
over 1k game invo on ancient here - I recommend not buying euls unless it's really necessary to have an early dispel, as bkb is much more preferable (bonus str + damage and doesn't lock you in place).
If you have a lot of squishy int supports and midlaner on enemy team like lina or silencer, look into playing quas wex invoker. With qw, you can fight early and have more impact on the early to mid game. Pick up either witch blade (first hit is true strike, very good against wr and pa) or vessel if you have tanky regen heroes like timber, cent or husk on the enemy team.
On exort, you almost always want to go for a midas as it helps you scale and farm better and get those juicy points in exort for more spell damage. Just mind that quas exort is generally slower than quas wex. Work with ice wall, snap and forge spirits, also pretty good against tanky midlaners like kunkka or slardar.
For exort invoker, my gameplan is mostly to be the joker against enemy cores your team can't deal with by buying blink, hex and refresher and comboing them (hex -> meteor -> defeatening -> sunstrike, refresher -> hex -> defeatening -> sunstrike) which deals about 3-4k damage total and should global most cores
For good invoker content I recommend rawdota henry - if you are compatible with his personality, there's a lot to learn - as he has very unconventional but yet incredibly good approaches to gameplay and itemization
Also, don't focus on combos too much. The most important things about invoker are positioning and knowing when to commit to fights. Generally, your job is to enable your team, so interrupt channeling CC's, disable the right guys, dispell buffs with tornado, save your teammates and zone enemies. If you sink 10 spells into killing one guy, you will be useless for the rest of the fight. Cast spells best suited for the situation you're in.
The thing you likely should most work on is not dying that often. If you get a lot sunstrike kills, you end of feeding lots of gold to the enemy by dying. Position yourself behind your offlaners/cores in the teamfights and nuke dangerous farm or push it with forge spirit instead of putting yourself in disadvantageous situations
Thank you so much for the tips' brother 🫶
I have been playing him sometimes and I am getting what you mean, he's not about doing big damage and the versatility is really useful on team fights, he has a ton of disables, I will check that YT Chanel when I have time and see what I can learn.
Early game go forge spirit with cold snap, its mana efficent. then use meteor or sunblast as theit being frosted. Always pick cold snap as lvl 1 spell. U can easily get kills in early teamfights with it. Mid game buy rod of atos point clik thing that lets u root someone so u brainlessly meteor and sunbathe them. Use emp when ur buddies are locked in a fight or meteor or sunblast. Cycle all of ur spells since they all deal damage somehow. This is the way to use inboker. Even his invisibility slows and damages.
Sunbathing the oponents seems like a good strat il definitly be going for rod of atos now
What do you do 1 vs 1 against enchantress when she is mid. I got destroyed trying to fight her.
Yo bro i actually tried playing rod of atos and is very usefull ess, ty
wait u mean its bad? or good?@@DotaDose_
I meant usefull thanks for pointing that out
No matter what if you don't win when you play Invoker in pubs you are the first to get blamed.
That dont really happended to me because I made it clear I has learning, but generally yeah
For basic combos I think, coldsnap > tornado > emp > meteor > defblast > sunstrike > alacrity
thats a hard one to hit i doubt i can hit even a single one right
If you are playing with an agi type hero you just need quas and exort and just lvl 1 wex. Coldsnap, tornado and meteor for that combo, SS or deafening for sure kill if still not dead.
Does tornado dispell cold snap??
@@DotaDose_ no
@@DotaDose_ nope, when u CS then after the tornado the enemy will be down with a knack of stun of CS connecting with your meteor and SS/Deafening.
Morphing bis the hardest to play
U think so? some would say its meepo maybe i will try learning it in the future
be careful about Sun Strike into the safe land
I made the same mistake when learning him too. at first it might look like you contributed, but you're actually griefing your team, and you can end up losing because your carry can't keep up, even when your KDA score is high.
if you KS too much, your Carry (Position 1) will not get farmed as much they should be
Invoker mid (position 2) needs level rather than items
Position 1 should get more priority in gold than Position 2
you should absolutely contribute, but try to do it in a manner that you help the Carry kill, rather than getting it for yourself
Yeah i see that, I did that mostly in the start but eventually figured it out and I tried to sunstrike before they die to help while not ks'ing
The things you did wrong, for example, when you do tornado, meteor and cold snap, is that you wait soooooooo long, hit cold snap and tornado first, so he doesn't have time to escape the meteor, nor the tornado. This is one mistake i wanted to point out. I only have 5000 hours on dota. So don't mind me
At the time of this video I believed that tornado dispelled and wasted cold snap, so I tried tornado into meteor and then cold snap, which makes the escape much easier
