JJ: “Do we have the AOS on the 22 yet? How is the Brembo install coming?”
Us: “Well… We ran into a few snags and aren’t sure that we’re going to have them installed before we leave for the show.”
JJ: “This car will be done and ready by 7AM tomorrow morning. Hold my beer fam. Let’s party MF’ers.” (ok we made that last part up).

They should try putting the 2018+ STI Recaros seats in, or at least order the 2022 WRX GT Recaros from Subaru.

Current owner of a 20' STi and when the 22' WRX was announced i was hating on it hard... just like everyone else, but seeing all the time and work everyone at IAG has been putting into this WRX. Damn does it look gooood!!

I’ve always held the notion that having the fender flares be body color and lowering the car a bit will absolutely fix the aesthetic issues of the new one. I’m glad to see somebody do it and it looks even better than I have imagined.

Since driving it - my issue is that I feel like I was sitting on-top of the car instead of in the car - the seating position was super high up. I drove it back to back with the BRZ and I have to say that although the BRZ has less power and smaller - it was damn fun to drive.
I am excited just had the fenders paint matched and waiting for the STI wing!!!

Very interesting, grimspeed said the STI Brembos didn't match up to the hubs/knuckle so they ended up doing the Cadillac Brembo + bracket mod instead. Ha, maybe they didn't actually try putting on the STI brembos lol
Maybe the 6pot ones don’t fit but the older 4pot ones do
@@GARAGE-xb4be Another YT garage Actually put the OEM 4 pot STI brembos on and they mounted up perfectly. The caliper mounts are the exact same on the Kunkle on this gen as the previous gens. So if the OEM 4 pots can mount up, so should the 6 pots, in theory lol.
I wonder if you also need to swap out hubs to get the rotor alignment right
@@GARAGE-xb4be the rotor alignment was off center by a few mm in the front, rears were spot on. So the other garage machined a 2mm spacer to sit on the inside of the rotor hat for the front and the fitment was perfect and everything else bolted right up.
I had the IAG street AOS installed in my 2019 STi. Looks great in red.

Looks amazing!! I'm getting one in September can't wait. Only thing is that I wish that the duckbill on the trunk could have been removed kinda looks odd with both the wing and the duckbill but overall the car looks beautiful!

Any chance you guys would sell those rotor spacers. I have a set of brembos and a 2022 coming in soon. Lol
Another little tidbit is that if you get the 15-17 STI rear brake shields it will be a nice OEM setup. No hacking or cutting the bolt right up as if they were OEM

Guys ! I installed a set of 2017 STi Brembo on my 2023 VB WRX ! In the back we did exactly the same. However for the fronts, Paragon brakes do sell a 2-piece rotor that is made for VB knuckles and STi 4pots Calipers ! the hat is considerably thinner, getting the desired rotor offset without using spacers !
It is more expensive, but a good quality rotor spacer not being readily available on the market and the mendatory wheel studs replacement made me order the 2-piece rotors for sake of simplicity ! and looks !!

could you guys whip up a bracket and spacer for the sk (2019+) forester? i heard the sti brembos bolt up, but if the new wrx needed work to fit, im preeeetty sure the forester is gonna need work also since they are on the same platform.

I seen Grim Speed add Cadillac ATS Brombo to the front of ther 2022 WRX and the spacer they made for the Front was 12mm It's nice seeing all these different companies make and do upgrades for the new WRX and making it into a Sti which sadly we won't be getting from subi which is a big mistake in my opinion. Keep up the amazing work your doing

Is there a way you can do a motor swap with the 2020/2021 STI? Drop it into a 22/23 WRX and put sti badging on it??

Why don't the seat headrests, at 11:57, have the WRX logo embroidered onto them? Every other 2022 WRX video I've seen of the interior seems to have the embroidered WRX in red.

Those look like the same calipers on my 2015 STi. If so, then 2015-2017 STi would work.

We used STI brakes for this conversion.

You all have made the 22 WRX look like an amazing car, It's such a shame how much work the average person would have to do to even make it look decent, Everything looks great, Only thing id do different is have the sides of the spoiler white with the top crossbar gloss black.

Honestly, the stock 2022 WRX (regardless of trim level) genuinely needs better brakes if you're going to track it.

We have a bit to go with testing but we're hoping soon soon soon!
Question, do 18 inch wheels fit the base model or do you have to stick around with the 17 inch?
Every trim above the base model comes with 18s so you should have no problem.
18s will work, so will 19s

So what I’m gathering here is that the biggest complication is the rotor. Do the factory rotors line up with the STI brembos (obviously the diameter would be off, but it would help gauge) curious if a larger factory rotor would work with the brembos without spacers ie, ascent/forester/outback rotors. Only concern with using the spacer behind the rotor is that the hub no longer stick out and doesn’t allow for the wheel to sit on it anymore. Maybe The final version of the spacer should have a longer lip to account for the difference to still provide a mounting surface for the rim. Good job overall guys!

@@theiagchannel custom 2 pc rotors would work with spacers at from of rotor.

Can anyone let me know if the STI AOS works on the fa24 and if all you need for it to work is just a custom mount. Trying to bolt my still new in box V3 AOS to my outback wilderness fa24.
It does not, but we are hoping to have a FA24 wrx unit out around the end of the year that may work with a different bracket.

I like the stock look better.
The rotor spacer screwed up the offset of the wheels. Should have done the rotor upgrade before choosing the wheels.
I know you guys were in a rush, but a better approach to mounting the brakes would be to make a new calliper mounting bracket. Mount the rotor like the OEM rotor mounts and then make new calliper brackets to bring the rotor in.
That white makes me regret getting the dark gray!
