Straight to it! Our brand new 2022 WRX was in the shop today for an overview and install of some cool Subaru accessories that we wanted to try out. Stay tuned!
lookin good! I never hated it at the first place. And I knew it will start growing on people once it hits the roads with all the aftermarket options. This will be a fun car to have.
Hey Jim, you are so right on the look. I have a 22 GT, Black Silica now, and have traded for a 6 speed manual 23 White Limited, just like this car you are working on (primarily because the jury is out on the durability of the 7 speed Subaru Performance Automatic with mods). Amazingly, the Subaru dealer told me to remove 4k of Subaru accessories for the "Subaru Gauranteed trade amount, 39k on a 17k mile car) including the complete red line lower kit currently on my trade, or sacrifice the accessories. Subaro sells a rear quarter bottom and a rear bumper lower spoiler, but it's necessary to use the 2 piece Exhaust Finisher with the bumper spoiler. But, put that red line kit on? 100% !!! Absolutely the bomb in my opinion. Heck, it looks awesome even missing the rear pieces on your car. FYI, I waited almost 8 months to get these pieces from Japan. They were all signed by the craftsman. Brilliant!
That silver rear diffuser with the addition of the STI pink front lip and side skirts doesn't look right. It throws the overall look off a little bit. It would look better if the rear diffuser add-on was the same color as those other pieces. I hope that those parts are available in multiple colors, though so the car owner can choose what accessory colors do go well with their cars paint color
@ThePriceTag that's why I also said that I hope all those body accessories are available in multiple colors, so the car owners can choose. Women drive WRX's as well, so the pink color for the diffuser would work as an option because some women may want one in pink for their car
For all the people that don't like it what 2022 car would you buy at this price point? This 2.4 is subarus best engine and on the same boost this car will destroy a sti.
Exactly this, currently in Canada, 24 month lease (2.99%), ZERO DOWN PAYMENT, around $170CAD bi-weekly for a manual AWD 270hp car. I cant find any other option. Gti is a $600/month car now, with wait time until 2023, Elantra/Veloster N's are $40k cars. The wrx really hits the right spot for a $30k sport/enthusiast car!
@@elsusc2547 That's $135 usa if it's like that here I might lease one. I don't think it's that cheap here. The other thing is these get good mpg and can be run on 87 octane to.
Bruh, give us the number of boost and horsepower level when this engine blows, and when this transmission dissembles itself into pieces and then show us what IAG will have for us in the house to make it bulletproof. But the way it looks is like underwear to each its own.
Half the STI cherry kit looks…..incomplete. You still need the rear side under spoilers and the rear under diffuser (which won’t fit with the bumper diffuser you put in). The problem is SOA doesn’t offer those 2 items lol just the front and side you installed.
I think when the new impreza comes out, it will have much of the Subaru WRX styling so if you are not a fan of the rally-looking fenders, the impreza may be the one to get if you don;t mind doing a whole bunch of upgrades to it.
Nice overview on the accessories! Really helps with the looks. I think it just needs paint matched fender flares and side skirts. Subaru should have used a similar front grill like that found on the 18-21 WRX. Maybe the refresh will get one similar. But your right about lowering and wheels, along with these accessories will make it look much better!
How hard was it to install the fog light LED kit? Was it plug n play? Have you done the illuminated door sills and the under dash lighting? Curious to know if these are hard to install.
The factory wheel arches and rear bumper are a bust for me on this car, the rear diffuser helps break up the sea of black but the lower rear bumper looks like a plastic shelf on the rear of the car
Greetings, I have great concern and disappointment, I hope you can help me make a decision. I originally wanted an STI, but they won't be making them anymore for the time being. What would be better? 2021 sti or a 2022 wrx? Will a turbo and manual STI come out? Thank you for your comments and help.
This looks awesome. Could anyone please help with where I get these or website and a part number where I can find these OEM red lip spoiler, side skirts and rear diffuser. I've been looking for those but I couldn't find them.
Not it the actual skirts and fenders them selfs need to go the rear bumper needs to go the front grill bumper needs to go more likely a complete body kit would be best bet and the tablet screen and speedometer needs to go the 2015-2021 was better my opinion . It’s difficult to adjust temps while driving and you need to tap hard on the screen it’s just annoying only good thing is the new upgraded seats and power it’s able to handle and just the little more interior space it has
This video was really informative because you pretty much installed all the accessories that I was thinking about putting on one, it was nice to actually see them installed
Why couldn't Subaru make a video like this? OEM manufacturers are so stupid. They could literally spend $100 to pay someone in their R&D department to take a video of their development car so people can actually see what the parts look like on the car. These big companies are so useless.
We don't get the option for the led upgrade on the front for Austrailia. They look pretty simple to install though so might have to import them somehow
I never thought the car was ugly... It was just all that ridiculous plastic that turned me off. It annoys me that on top of buying the car, the first thing I have to do, is swap out, paint match and/or delete brand new parts. I'd rather do the suspension or wheels until the aftermarket catches up... I'm 65% sure I'm buying one (already priced one out) but I'm 90% sure it'll be in Blk, just so I can hide some of the plastic.
I'm thinking about picking one up. Subscribing since you are one of the few channels to do mods on these. I'm glad many claims it's ugly, easier to snag one.
Broooo im not hating about your work cuz your work is fantastic but i have a question, uh are you gonna paint that cladding? cuz i am really excited for you to do that
looks good. Are those STI parts from ??? what? what year, etc.? Also, does anyone know if the base comes with a double din sized head unit, or is that large tablet the only one that is available? BC I'm thinking that if I get a base, I could just replace the head unit with aftermarket, which is easier with the cheaper head unit than that large tablet nonsense.
The parts were directly from Subaru, available for the WRX, we should see the parts on our website soon. The base does not come with one large head unit but simply 2 units in the same capacity.
Where did you guys get the parts from? I didn't order them with the car and I'm trying to get some stuff now but the parts department says they don't have part numbers to order this stuff yet.
wtf is that ? you put red lips and a silver diffuser on a white/black car, then you add alcantara panels inside the car, while having cloth seats... the most useful "upgrade" have been the weather mats !!! you know what the best thing about driving the new wrx is ? you can't see how ugly it is, while you are inside...
That is bull crap. I asked the dealer when I was going to buy one if they could change out those parts and they told me no, they couldn’t change those parts. 😡🤬
I’m sick of hearing the most overused non original word in the motor world and that is PLASTIC CLADDING… I personally love it. It makes the car much more aggressive looking than previous model. The only part that’s to much for me is the back end. It’s a little to over done for my liking. To busy looking. I’d debadge the rear end and take off the rear lip spoiler. 3inch all the way from turbo. Custom tune and large intercooler. 18 - 9.5 RPF1’s 255 45 would make it complete
lookin good! I never hated it at the first place. And I knew it will start growing on people once it hits the roads with all the aftermarket options. This will be a fun car to have.
Rear diffuser should be STI color too..
The new WRX has become even more customizable. It’s like the multitool of cars now days.
You guys did some basic work on my evo years ago. Glad to see you are still kicking it.

Black & White emblems would make the perfect finishing touch on the front end IMO! Looks great already

well the 400z if we aren't worried about awd.
Wish the diffuser was available in red
Not the MIB 2 quote “old and busted..new hotness”🤣😂😂
Can you add a link or share with us where you got this ground effects kit from?
With STI wheels and S209 style spoiler would look sweeet 👌
Bruh, give us the number of boost and horsepower level when this engine blows, and when this transmission dissembles itself into pieces and then show us what IAG will have for us in the house to make it bulletproof. But the way it looks is like underwear to each its own.
Aftermarket wheel arch ad ons will be everywhere
The new white color code looks so much better than the old Crystal White Pearl. I'm jealous.
It’s ceramic white from the series white I believe. I have a cwp wrx, which I love but I think this one goes better with all the black cladding.
Cwh
Hopefully videos Like this will make Subaru bring back the STI
I hate the huge infotainment screen. The rear diffuser really makes a difference
Is there a link for these parts?
On the subaru website you can shop for these accessories.
We'll have them available on our website shortly as well!
That front lip is awesome 👌. A great video brother. Subies forever guys and gals.
Half the STI cherry kit looks…..incomplete. You still need the rear side under spoilers and the rear under diffuser (which won’t fit with the bumper diffuser you put in). The problem is SOA doesn’t offer those 2 items lol just the front and side you installed.
What a good looking transformation brother.

That is what I was thinking as well. The body work is very busy but color-matching will quiet it all down and make it look more unified.
How hard was it to install the fog light LED kit? Was it plug n play? Have you done the illuminated door sills and the under dash lighting? Curious to know if these are hard to install.
Plug and play as long as it’s not a base. As base doesn’t come with fog lights (regarding fog lights)
The rear diffuser in silver is for the win , must have upgrade as for skirts I would have'em painted white to unify the look better.
Definitely looks good!
The factory wheel arches and rear bumper are a bust for me on this car, the rear diffuser helps break up the sea of black but the lower rear bumper looks like a plastic shelf on the rear of the car
We'll see how the changes look when we get finished up!
Where did you order the STI front spoiler from?
We'll have them available on our website shortly!
I wish you did an installation instruction for these.
The rear diffuser fixed the back. The red front and side skirt, not feeling that
Why would you bother putting suede on the dash and armrest when you didn't opt for the limited with the suede seats? Do you plan to upgrade the seats?
Greetings, I have great concern and disappointment, I hope you can help me make a decision.

I dont mind the civic lights everyone is complaining about. But those cheap looking plastic flares, 👎. Hope they come out with a fix for that
Are these oem pieces from Subaru? Link to where we can purchase?
We'll have them available on our website shortly!
did you guys find a way to install the front strake & front lip together, or is there no way around it?
the interior upgrades especially the arm rest are a must have.
the exterior is perfect as it is.
The centre console extension?

Theses accessories mare a must have!! Looks so much better!
So you added weight for the sake of vanity?
That looks way better I like it.
Where do the stitched suede interior pieces come from?
Do you have to drill into bumper to put the oem sti lip on or can it be clipped in with clip screws
Too lazy to read all comments. Maybe it’s been previously asked, but have you considered paint matching the diffuser to the rest of the under lip?
There may be some changes coming ;)
where did you guys get these parts?

This video was really informative because you pretty much installed all the accessories that I was thinking about putting on one, it was nice to actually see them installed
Same here haha. I was like hmmm would the extra fog lights and rear diffuser look good? This helped solidify that decision.
Why couldn't Subaru make a video like this? OEM manufacturers are so stupid. They could literally spend $100 to pay someone in their R&D department to take a video of their development car so people can actually see what the parts look like on the car. These big companies are so useless.
Great video. The car looks better. How is the LED strip beside the fog light powered? Is there a wiring harness available to plug into directly?
I'm wondering this as well.
Yes there is. As long as it’s not the base. Premium and up trims have the extra plug wrapped in pink tape behind bumper
I’m assuming the pink tape was to signify they were going to release an STI, and these piano black fogs were going to be on the STI.
For science you should see if a 15-21 sti wing would fit on this generation
Import image racing already did that fyi
Yes, the new 2022 wrx wouldn't be a wrx without an Sti wing on it.
We don't get the option for the led upgrade on the front for Austrailia. They look pretty simple to install though so might have to import them somehow
We'll have them available shortly!
The sports grill looks way better than the stock one. Should of talked about it in this video.
Is the red skirt closer to the ignition red car color? I’m thinking if I shud add the red skirt to my red wrx with the black plastic in middle
It is the Cherry Blossom STI Red
Why no link to these parts in the video description?
We'll have them available on our website shortly!
I love the red but I wonder how it would look like on wr blue
