seeing other people’s game dev stories is always so interesting and i love how game design almost always shows up on paper first. i remember making board games, then card games, then ttrpgs, and then making a game for the first time it just felt so surreal
edit: i’ve also been working on my own mostly linear rpg so it’s cool to be following your project as well!

I’ve been into game dev for a while now, but only just started my journey and begun using unity now. I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and they’ve honestly been inspiring and very well put together. Thank you inspiring me to reach my goals, I hope eventually I can make my own games too.
Good luck! Just remember that consistency is key, it’s a long journey, but I think that anybody who puts the time in and is passionate about it can become a great game developer

Man, I also started my video-game creation with paper and pencil in school. I played not much with friends as I didn't got much friends anyway. But a lot of my interests were born back then. I am not good but I am currently working in get better as I jump from game idea to game idea until one catches me enough to finnish one.

I did the exact same thing as war world, except I just called it the paper battley game, and we changed the rules and characters every time we played it.
Not even lying around that same time I had an idea for a game called Astro and it was basically the same idea as yours I also started making it in gamemaker

I started on hopscotch too!
I used hopscotch for about 5 years until moving onto construct 3. I actually remade Pokémon, Clash Royale And Bloons. My Games Then Got Deleted and I quit and went to Construct 3.

I really want to make a game but it's like I can't really get any ideas for story, genre, mechanics,...
The only things I have are a platformer without jump mechanic, a bad stealth game and a weird endless runner (all of them unfinished). All of them unfinished bc guess what, I can't get ideas for the games!

i just started my game dev journey 2 days ago , never touched any sort of program to make games but now tryna learn vs code in unity annnnnddd i have no clue how to make my person deal damage lol , attempting to make this has made me realise how much effort goes into the games i play
Good luck, the start is the hardest part, just keep working with it and I you’ll start getting the hang of it

1. I've followed the path of no school for years.; CZcams Tutorials and watching other Indie Devs are definitely my guidance.
2. OMG you do animation too?! that's a trip, to find someone who also likes game dev & Animating.
And here i was thinking "i must be one of the fiew who do animating & game dev"
3. When i started youtube, i thought "my Thanos video will get at LEAST 1 million views." and boy was i wrong lol 😄
4. Storytime animating? ngl i too had the same idea; it's super prominent since %99 of my stuff is animations.
