For me, what makes Perrie even more beautiful as a person and as a vocalist is the fact that she rejected to be the lead singer thus hiding her full singing potential because they don't want any member to be left behind. However she is happy about it, they are all happy about it because every single member is given their own freedom to sing what they want.

@francisco ferdinando I am sorry but I found your comment to be exaggerated. What I mean is there are still parts of her range that aren't that explored yet:
Her falsettos- they are often times used by Perrie only as alternative for belts
Her lower chest voice- she got least amounts of lows at most of their studio albums
Her whistle- yes Perrie can whistle but we never know if its good, controlled or whatever but she rarely showed it
Her head voice- this is used in their music but only sometimes,in LM5 and Confetti albums, Perrie's head voice is nonexistent.
It is understandable that not everything I mentioned in here will be utilized by her as the perfect vocalist will never exist. However, if she will use these more in the future.. That would be terrific.

I think one of the reasons Little Mix are so great is that there isn’t a lead singer. They are more focussed on their blend and sounding good together. They understand the importance of harmony. I think the fact they’re close helps as well, no egos trying to outshine eachother like you sometimes see in other bands

Her head voice and vibrato are underappreciated especially since it's one of the best IN POP, not just in the group. Definitively the best vocalist in the group but as other comments have mentioned, this doesn't put the other members' down. It's mainly giving Perrie the credit for her talent and her hardwork for developing her voice.

@@kylesaludares2359 I might be wrong, but I remember once reading a Little Mix interview a few years ago, and I think Perrie said that her grandmother was an opera singer. When she was a little girl, she tried her best to copy her grandmother and wanted to be just as good as her. I don't know if she ever got any serious vocal training at that point in her life, but maybe she just picked so things up from listening to her grandmother?

Objectively speaking Perrie IS the best vocalist in the band and that's okay!!! it doesn't mean the other girls aren't excellent and it doesn't mean that Perrie should sing more than them because they have made it clear that there is no lead vocalist. But she is the strongest singer in the band, she is one of the strongest singers in pop music altogether. Her voice is one in a million.
The difference is that Demi's voice can often sound quite screechy when she hits high notes - it also gets tired. Ariana's the same but not to the same extent. Perrie's vocals are consistent and stay rich - even when she hits high notes, we don't hear that annoying screechy sound you see in many female pop stars
@Rich Max McHalliwchester to be fair. Most pop stars these days lip sync their high notes on tours especially when it’s a fast paced song that they do choreo for.
Beyoncé is one of the best vocalists of the last 20 years and even she lip syncs her faster songs when she’s touring because it helps protect her voice.

Yeah, I wouldn't hate on Gary for what he said as well because he was a judge of the show and obviously there was a pattern of having lead singers in groups, but Little Mix managed well not having one.
He was just higlighting Perrie's skills as a great vocalist, they are the best girlband in my opinion and I love them because they are not trying to compete, outshine or minimize each other, but Perrie so far has a more educated voice than Jade, Leigh and Jesy (when she was in).

I additionally want to say. Please don't take any offense to this video. This man is simply stating what is true and his feelings towards this woman and her talent. We know the other girls, (Jade and Leigh) are great vocalists as well. That's why they're here today. But, we know Perrie has had the most developed voice.

@@daniell4545 I'm sorry but I think you got it wrong... Jade rarely use her head voice in their music because she is more comfortable with her falsetto while Perrie's are the real head voice.. Head voice are thick, full sounding, they can be supported and transitioned from chest or mixed voice such as Perrie's B5 in Want To Want Me/ Dance With Somebody cover. Meanwhile, falsettos are airy, very breathy and shallow - a disconnected register that's why when Jade do the B5 in Wing's, you can hear that she releases only air first before the sound comes out. I'm not a vocal coach or music student anyway...

Perrie's vocal agility is so underrated 😭😭😭🤍🤍🤍 People just think she can't execute a proper riff/run and can't smoothly transition from chest voice to head voice because:
1. She has a big voice.
2. She keeps things simple when it comes to vocal agility. That's not a bad thing at all. In fact, her vocal agility is actually really good for someone with a voice as heavy/dark as hers.

3:20 I remember hearing someone say that she was classically trained in Head Voice and I honestly believe some of that is true cause how she sings “I could’ve danced All night” proves hints of Classical Training since its a big piece to do and the way she uses her Head Voice also prove hints of it as well. I don’t understand why people get so mad when someone says Perrie has the best voice in the group, when there’s factual evidence AND experts (vocal coaches) that say she indeed IS the best.

Leigh and Jade would NEVER be able to sing some of the stuff that Perrie can, but that’s not to say they can’t sing at all. That’s just stupid. There is no way Leigh or Jade could sing “All By Myself” or “Listen”, especially with how challenging the vocals are.

There is no problem with saying Perrie is the best vocalist, because it’s true. That doesn’t mean we’re saying “Oh, Leigh is a horrible singer” or “Jade can’t sing!” Nor does it mean someone is racist for saying Perrie is the best vocalist. Every fan knows that Leigh and Jade can sing very well, and while they all have their flaws, Perrie still surpasses them when it comes to certain vocals.

A little fun fact as well: Perrie sings the most on tour, so that’s why her voice gets tired out more than the others. Perrie lip synced the least on the Confetti tour (just watch videos, you’ll find them) DESPITE having a throat infection, whereas Jade and Leigh lip synced the most (not saying that’s a bad thing of course) so obviously their voices aren’t straining or hurting as much. It has nothing to do with Perrie having a poor technique, it has to do with the fact she is singing almost every night and obviously that can hurt your voice.

now as a trio the vocals are very equal and close to each other but Perrie really stands out for like just 5-10% from the other two girls (Jade and Leigh-Anne are pretty equal vocally) based on their vocal performances. We all can't deny her great talent, either way the other two are also great buf just lacked a little to get on Perrie's level and maybe that is good support at high notes and breath control then they will be more likely 100/100

Honestly all 4 of them have equally amazing quality. Pez definitely stands out with her power belt and versatility, she's the most well equipped. Jade is also an amazing singer, her vocal, is probably the most versatile, you can put her anywhere and she'll slay, she's also a great dancer, Jesy's husky voice was LM's identity, you know it's LM when she sang, her low notes were very satisfying. Leigh has improved a lot, probably the next belter of the group after Pez. Their vocals in this new album are so refined.

I have to admit pez is indeed the best vocalist of lm... and thank you for also acknowledging the other girls’ vocals. There are those who just know the blond xtina-esque girl from little mix while her groupmates look like they dont exist.

I think the fans take it too seriously, it's obvious that Perrie is the best of the group, she always has been, but my favorite is Leigh because I think her voice is very unique and because we don't always choose what we prefer lol, and it's all right because it's entertainment, it's not that deep
I completely agree with you. And a lot of vocal coaches say Perrie is the best vocalist. These are professionals, so they know what they’re talking about. But the moment you say Perrie’s a great vocalist, people will always bring up Jade and Leigh, whereas if you say Leigh is a great vocalist, people will agree with you. And as fans, we aren’t denying that other girls aren’t amazing, but Perrie is the best in terms of vocals in the group. I’m so glad you like Leigh as favourite but aren’t discrediting Perrie because a lot of Leigh stans do that.

I agree. My favorite member is leigh anne (this will never change) but perrie has the most consistent voice out of the group. Some people are insecure 'bout that but its not her fault she has an excellent voice. Niether the 2 girls leigh and jade. Their voices are lighter and its not their fault. The fact that they are able to execute their voices individually makes them the best group in this generation.
So that was the thing that she can be an all around vocalist. Her mid-low range, her midbelts, her head voice... My god.

In my opinion
Perrie is literally the Main Vocalist. Even the girls knows. the fact that I watched their performances without Perrie and even the girls respect and knows that only Perrie can do justice to that note, they avoided note. But honestly I feel like out of the 4, Jade and Leigh An both can hit the note as beautiful as well.. but if it comes to harder notes, I think Jade for sure can do it. I love her high notes in her live Little Me and Good Enough. That note she did after Perrie high note is to die for. And I like Jesy in the group too because I watched their performances a lot just to hear their notes, but Dam Jesy really knows how to work and hype the crowd
