Essential Spartan Gear: What you need to wear for Obstacle Course Running 2019

  • For those that ask, “What do I need to wear for spartan?”: this is the only list of gear (shoes, compression socks, shorts, gloves) you need for Obstacle Course Racing. This my tested and proven go to gear and why you will want the same stack. When I started racing, I quickly realized that there is so much bad information about race gear. Which resulted in me going through an expensive trial and error period. Let me save you money and time. I have used this gear in Spartan, Savage Race, Terrain Race, Maniac Mudder and The Gauntlet. I have yet to do a tough mudder

    • @Dusticron
      @Dusticron  Před 5 lety +1

      With the sprints, just make sure you properly hydrated beforehand. I drink a lot of pedolyte the week of; and I never stop for water during the race. However, with any race with more distance, I would recommend camelback product. You will, however, need to get creative with how you keep the part you drink out of clean.

      Also, with the hoist, is it an issue with your grip. If so, there is a bit of strategy. Some of the ropes for the hoist are slicker than others. If people are in front of you actively doing the hoist. Go to the one that finishes the fastest because chances are you will have more grip on that rope than the others.

    • @Dusticron
      @Dusticron  Před 3 lety

      2 thoughts come to mind. First, compression underwear. But not a very strong compression. say not very strong because it may impact your stride, or in my case introduce psychological doubt. The second, this just Jeff posing as Matt in another in a long line of feeble attempts to get my underwear. If it is scenario 1, I hope it helps. If it is scenario 2, nice try Jeff.
