If you’re inclined to write off a dog as “too much work” after two days, you have no business seeking to adopt a pet in the first place.
It's better to return her than to try to make it work and neglect her and or treat her wrong or even abuse her. The previous adopters should just get a goldfish
@@lizxu322 I'd feel bad for that goldfish, too.
you said it.
@@lizxu322 I understand your train of thought but as a rescuer of COUNTLESS new family furries..don't adopt unless you are ALL in. Foster for a few day or donate your time at a rescue first . It's unfair to the pet you adopt to be shuffled around.
If you have a human child that’s a lot of work, you can have a dog that’s lots of work too!
My baby…the love of my life…who still has my heart 17 years after his passing…was in a cage trying to get my attention in a pet store in Arlington TX. As I walked away, my friend said, “He’s looking to see where you are going.” I asked to hold him, and the pet store employee told me, “A family brought him back. They say he doesn’t like people.” I remember thinking, “Well he seems to like ME.” He came home with me, and quickly became the love of my life. He was three months old when he chose me, and he passed in my arms at 16 and a half. Our bond was magical.
What a sweet story of your best friend. ❤
Bless your heart for protecting and caring for your pet until the end. Someday, you will be reunited.
I grew up in Arlington tx. Really weird I suddenly saw two mentions of Arlington today. Maybe it’s a sign
You will see each other in heaven
My husky chose me as well, out of the litter of six. The other five ignored me completely. When they choose you instead of the other way around, it can be an even stronger bond.
My dog has been returned many times before I adopted him. The shelter wasn't seeking a family anymore when I got him. All of this happened just because he was shy and very scared of people, instead of being extrovert and cuddly. Now he's the most adorable and loving creature in the world 🥰
The darn cheek that the shelter wasn't seeking a family anymore. What then? Would he just have stayed there in isolation? Then at that point a decision should have been made to rather set his spirit free and have him to sleep. We are all pro life as far as possible, but what was more cruel???
Hard to fathom crazy people. Of course love and patience. We know this works out in the end. She's so adoreable.
God bless your beautiful family!!!
My previous dog at 3 1/2 years old had 3 homes plus the rescue center when I adopted her, I could not of got a better dog had I tried, she died when she was 12 in 2018, a few months later I adopted a 7 1/2 year old Husky who was a handful and nearly went back several times due to aggression issues, now she is a big soft dog
Thank you for sharing that 😊.
I'm glad you kept her. She is already used to you guys and she loves you
Once she bonded with the husband, she became their dog. Giving her away would break her trust again.
There's a reason when we say "you don't pick the dog, the dog picks you" and is so true. I have a little dog that fostered her during her pregnancy, the puppies were adopted, and somebody took her (the mom) for adoption, in less than a month she escaped from that house and came back to me. After that, I couldn't let her go with another human, and now she's with me.
Aww ☺️ nice 👍🏻 touching ♥️ story Angeles,thanks 🙏🏻 for sharing it & a happy 🙂 ending for you & your dog. 🐶 ❤
Good job foster Mom!!!! Foster fails are the best!!!
So proud of ya 😁
❤🐾❤🐾❤🐾❤🐾
Show us a picture of her. What a cute story
Aww that's beautiful. Cling close to each other and have a long happy life together. 😍😍🥰🥰
Not a failure. She ended up right where she was supposed to be. Such a sweet girl! Thank you for your patience, kindness and love!
Amen to that ! 😉
Thank you for adopting this precious girl Chips Ahoy! - what a great name 😆 I hope she has many happy years with you and your hubby!! 🥰🐕
Eeyup.
Lucky dog to have you!!!
They mean it in a good way. it's like going to an animal shelter and picking just one pet instead of picking like 5. Their job is to rehabilitate animals because it takes a lot of time and effort and bring them to a new home no matter how gut-wrenching it is but they fell in love and said screw it.
Shy and scared dogs are the most loyal loving dogs once they open up which means you've earned their trust.
Too much work? Disgusting. Thank you for adopting her, she's really a sweetheart.
“She can have all the socks in the world that she wants.” That’s right!
That says all that needs to be said. They give us their hearts, there is nothing we shouldn't be willing to give them in return.
dogs seem to find socks oddly appealing ! Probably our smell, and easily attainable !.
My dog was returned before we got him. He had been in four other shelters before he got to ours. The guy said he only wanted to be outside and didn't want to spend time with his son. Seriously people, dogs aren't toys! Let them decide when it's time to come to you. We've had him for four years and he is the sweetest boy... loves every person and every dog he has ever met.
They should buy a soft toy! Dogs are sensitive and empathic, they need input, affection and love. It makes you wonder what sort of parents these people are to their children.
lots of people including dog owners seem to have absolutely no concept of respecting dogs, they just expect to be able to do whatever they feel like doing with a dog, and if the dog isn't happy about that, they think the dog is broken.
Some people are like that with children as well as pets. I've seen people have kids to fill some need or emotional hole for themselves and act like they are just excited to get some live doll to play with or something. Seriously do not have kids or pets if you are that selfish people! They both require a lot of work and patience and need to be respected as individual beings with their own emotions and needs.
Makes you wonder how the son was treating the dog if the dog (who now loves everyone) wouldn’t be around him.
" The guy said he only wanted to be outside and didn't want to spend time with his son." These are the very same people who will leave behind a dog or cat when they move because they think it is inconvenient to take them to the new place.
I love this!!!! My dog was my "failure" . I fostered her 11 years ago and after a year and a half of rehabilitating her I look back on how far she came. How far I came. Keeping her as my family was my BEST decision of my ENTIRE life. The end of this month we celebrate 11 years together. :)
have a similar story. i grew up with dogs my whole life. when i moved out on my own i lived in apartments for several years and when i bought my first house, i wanted a dog. I waited 6 months after and adopted a shelter dog. i brought her home and she just could not adjust to being in a home. she only knew the shelter the first 6 months of her life. i took her back to the shelter and asked if she had been abused because she was literally afraid of everything. it was the worst feeling of my entire life leaving her there until i had to go back and give her a second chance. like it was god telling me i had to go back and try again. aside from getting married and having a son, bringing my future best friend back into my home was the best decision of my life. 11 years later and she is literally the best friend i ever had. god bless you if you took the time to read this and hope it inspires you to always be kind to animals and let them into your lives if you have the means.
God bless you for giving your pup a second chance. ❤❤❤❤
Yay for YOU! And, your kind heart, and listening to your intuition!! :) Blessings~
It took courage to admit that and go back. You are a hero.
If you want a "work free" dog, buy a doll instead of a pet.
Chips deserves all the love! Thankfuly, she found in her foster, and now her oficial family, a place to be forever ❤️
People are different, just like dogs. They were just a poor match. Maybe a better screening process to determine suitability is needed.
Agreed!
Agreed
Exactly.
Or a pet rock
She just needed time, it's no telling where she was rescued from and what they did to her. Thank god she was returned to you. Beautiful story 🙏🙏❤
Thank god she wasnt abandoned rather than returned hope she finds a better home that can give her time
These are the worst foster parents I've ever seen. This woman does not need to be fostering animals she's too bizarre. Plus who's going to want an animal that keeps stealing socks? I can't tell you how stupid you people look to the regular world
@@faithreturns333 shut up🤬 nobody likes creeps like you
@@faithreturns333 my cat used to steal socks lol I loved that^^ call me wierd but whenever I'd lose my socks and she wasnt around she find them when she came back and put em under my bed
@@faithreturns333 What a heartless, rude and toxic thing to say. Pouring all that bitter nasty rubbish into the world tends to flow back on you like sewage which is evidently already a thing with you.
The dog was neglected for a long time ,it shows in her behavior. Patience and understanding is the start to a trusting pet.
This woman is a jewel. She is loving and that's why the dog trusted her. Lady, you are truly a wonderful person.
She’s absolutely gorgeous. She couldn’t have wished for a better family.

Thank you!! For 2 days this Angel was miserable because you built her trust to give her away. I still would have pooped in your shoes!!!
I absolutely agree that adorable ❤🐕❤ belongs to your family. Bless your heart❤❤❤🐕❤❤
@@shirlepps4636 yeah I didn’t understand that at all. Then why adopt a rescue in the first place.
@@andrewjones2133
That part!
Couldn't have said it better myself! Well done!
I adopted a colony cat, almost feral, from my local cat rescue. It took me a full month just to be able to look at her without her hiding behind the fish tank. Now, ten years later, she gives me the best head bumps and love bites. Don't give up on the difficult ones. They're worth it
People dont realize it takes animals time to adjust to a new home and people. Dont give them back. Take time to let the dog adjust.. Be kind.
"I've never been prouder to be a failure", that is the best thing I have ever said, especially because she gets Chips Ahoy. This is the sweetest story ever. I wish you and your family the absolute best.
And from me as well. Much love from Canada!
Lots of love and God bless from Australia🧡🧡🇦🇺❣️💚
So happy to see that you kept her. You are NOT a failure... you saved this dog's life. You are her angel!
Not a failure! You are Fantastic! Wishing you and your Family, including Chips, all the best from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 ❤
She is adorable. She knows the people who love her. The ones who thought of her as " too much work", did not deserve her.
Or any other pet, for that matter. I usually try to be understanding, but f them. I hope local fosters put them on a list of people not to be trusted.
@@susieusmaximus5330 That is an excellent idea. Totally agree with you.
So true. I established a dog rescue 20 plus yrs ago. I have had to bite my
tongue many times to keep from saying, "well, I have a nice STUFFED ANIMAL I can show you" to people who have come to look at our dogs who had that mindset.🙄😁
@@csf7773 Self- control is a good thing. I laughed at your stuffed animal line. Thanks for giving me a chuckle. Sometimes people look at a dog or any other animal as a toy. All pets need care, Food, medicine, affection, exercise, and understanding. Not all animals have the same temperament. Abandonment and abuse can be a factor. It takes time and patience to pull them through the trauma. Thanks 😊 again. 🌞
It's really not about that. Be thankful they recognized their limits instead of keeping the dog and messing it up...ending up hating it....having an adopted dog is different than starting from puppy. Each has their challenges. Not everyone is cut out for it...I guess I prefer to be thankful they recognized that in themselves.
I am so so happy, you gave her a forever home.
I raised many dogs from puppies but adopted Layla at a year and a half. Based on the paperwork this is her first real home. She had an intestinal parasite when I got her so after a week, I left her at the vet for some tests. She must have thought she'd been rejected again, after all the back room is full of kennels. She was very excited when I picked her up, but what really got to me was when we were home, she ran outside through the dog door, which I assumed meant she needed to pee. Instead, I watched her sprint to the end of the dog run and back in without stopping. The happiness in her eyes and overall excitement showed me how much it meant to her to finally have a home.
"We want to giver her our home." That's how true dog parents feel.
Dog is Always a dog nice to see that!
@@PhysicsOfParkour
Of course. It is a mentally retarded beggar, unable to survive on its own abilities, so it's totally relying on a human for everything.
But it doesn't beg for much. It only begs for its food for life, its home for life, its vets for life and your precious time for the rest of its life.
But it pays you back! When it sees its everything-provider it wags its tail and licks him...
And we have agreed to call this... "unconditional love"!
CONCLUSION: The I.Q of the dog "parents" is comparable to the I.Q of their "children", only a little more naive.
@@FoibosGr2 yup....its true.
@@FoibosGr2 you know ,honestly I'm not sure what you are trying to say. What do you mean by "mentally retarded beggar"? -_-!
@@ashotoftequila3426
1. About "beggar":
All its survival capabilities have been bred out during the ancient human project of domesticating the wolfs.
So, the dogs can only survive depending on human charity.
They beg the humans for food and all other essentials for surviving, because they could not survive without the human help.
2. About "mentally retarded".
The dog species came from ancient wolves after downgrade.
The today dog brain is 30% smaller than today wolf's. That's an average among all dog species.
Even a 6 month old wolf puppy easily outsmarts any adult dog on this planet.
So, dogs are mentally rearded compared to their ancestors.
If humans disappeared all other animals would be very happy but the dogs. The dogs would disappear 2-3 weeks after humans, when they would have consumed every human food leftovers. They can not hunt in order to survive. They lost this ability thousands years ago.
They are an incomplete species depending on other species (the human) for their survival.
I wouldn’t say that’s a foster fail, I’d say that’s a foster success 💛
I agree!
My cat was surrendered when she was 3 years old. She was returned to the shelter after a week because she was not used to dogs. Both of those homes were failures. Had her 3 years now, best pet I ever had. I ❤ her and she knows it.
A blessing in disguise for those people returning her……they clearly weren’t fit or worthy of having her!
Dogs are very special, precious souls. Idiots can really hurt them.
Dogs are disgusting
What about you eating Chicken and cow
"Brendan is a good man, giving Chips Ahoy extended body rubs."

Maybe another name would have worked better. Ahoy is a signal word. Chips isn't a name either.
You are NOT a fail at all. You are a proud pet parent!! So glad you kept Chips.
finally getting her to trust someone and then giving her away is too sad. I’m so glad u kept her.
Bless you for keeping her. Poor girl. I can’t imagine the trauma of being returned after only 2 days.
isn't it just like staying at a relative while you are on holidays though

Don’t ever adopt a rescue. SMH
@@misssophie7717 i won't, don't worry 😃
Awe that's so sad she must have been really confused. Hope she has a happy home and is loved every day.
@@rachebrother5349 I love your response! Apparently trying to diminish the “trauma” of the dog staying somewhere else for two days makes you unfit for the human race😂😂😂! Frankly, these days, I’d take that as a W!!
She knew she was home and that’s why she probably was acting differently at the other home. It’s because she wanted to be returned to ‘her’ home! If failure is what you call love, then let’s all fail! ❤️
Exactly ! It took her so long to trust them & then to be with new people, she was probably so scared & confused
Yep she missed her mom and dad
Oh, SOOO happy you kept her! I was just crying and praying you'd keep her, cuz she not only wanted to stay with you both but she NEEDED to stay. She came to trust and love you as her family, her pack, and she wasn't ready to go elsewhere and be re-traumatized, etc. You did the right thing! Yay!!
She adopted you before you decided to keep her, especially the way she trailed after your husband. She decided you were her forever home before you knew it. So glad you kept her!
Chips is just meant for her. Remember...they choose us. Not the other way around.
I totally agree with that statement. My sweet, sweet Trixie certainly chose me and it's been love between us ever since!!
I’m still salty about the puppy my family got for me, ending up liking my sister more. Sadly the apartment she lives in is not allowed to have dogs but the one I live in does, so the puppy lives with me but ADORES my sister (and I always have a doggy sitter on call if I’m out of town so win win)
No animal should ever have that expression in their eyes. She was haunted by what she's been through and yet finally, she had someone to trust and bond her up. Then they gave her to someone else. Happy she's happy and is back with the Foster family, but the thought of how the poor thing was feeling when she was with the other people, is heartbreaking.
I’m no vegetarian but your comment reminded me why I can’t eat mammals anymore, it’s that same scared look in the sheep and cow’s eyes. Birds, fish, that doesn’t seem to get to me.
@@admiralbeez8143 you should watch a video from a chicken slaughterhouse. That might change your mind. It's horrific
Exactly my point which I posted before I saw your comment!
Yes... correct...i absolutely agree...
My fourteen-year-old Balto passed last Feb, in April I adopted a two-year-old stray male named James Frasier (Outlander), it took him three weeks to warm up with the girls (three dogs) I gave him the space he needed and now he's a velcro dog. Amazing. Adopting is giving the animal time to heal and learn.
That dog needed lots of patience and love. I'm glad you kept her.
That big fat "F" isn't for failure . It's for "F"abulous ,"F"antastic and most importantly "FAMILY " :)

Too much work? what did they think this was a goldfish, where you put food out twice a day. It's a dog, a pet that needs time and stimulation. Those people should never own pets. Glad to see the fosters adopt her
Fish aren't too much work? You've never had to maintain a tank have ya luv 😂 but absolutely agree, it's irresponsible to get any animal without doing research on the species and the individual your getting. All animals have special requirements and need love and attention x
@@flame-29936 I guess i must have written it wrong. Unlike Fish who just need some food and weekly cleaning. Dogs, birds, cats, and other more mobile animals around the house need a lot more attention and effort. You should either be fully devoted or have thoroughly researched before getting these types of pets. Each one is unique and has different needs. Some people amaze me at how incompetent they can be haha
@@flame-29936 Goldfish aren't really that much work. I didn't assume they meant some foreign tropical fish.
I so agree, I couldn't have said better
Some people "get" dogs. Some people don't. I've always been in the first group.
I adopted a dog that was abused & neglected and one that had been returned 3 times before 6 mos old and one from a hoarding situation! .. .Dogs like that require extra love, time compassion, understanding & patience to help them overcome their fears & anxieties. They're WONDERFUL dogs worth every minute of "extra" time needed and the most rewarding experienceto see them blossom!
I have a dog who was initially shy/timid. I can confirm that it does take weeks or months of love and patience to see a dog like that come out of its shell. Now, my dog is goofy and has us wrapped around her little paw.
Why people dislike these wholesome videos where people are saving LIVES is beyond me
Ikr!
maybe because of the socks part ? don't let dogs eat socks because they will eat them and then it's to the vet or death, happened to mine, pretty stupid part of the video

"Too much work?" All she needed was a little love and patience. So happy that she has a fabulous family now.
Many people get a dog when what they need is a house plant . Water it give it a little light and you can feel accomplished. An animal is not like that. They need you as much as you need them. Food, understanding, time, scratches on the belly and petting on the ears. Snuggles on the couch. If you're the type that thinks dogs or cats belong in one space of the house or outside, not on the furniture or you don't have the time to put into a pet . If you can't see yourself treating it like family, don't get an animal.
Yes, dogs with anxiety and other mental health issues are more work than healthy and happy dogs. Yes, they are too much work for some people. No, there is absolutely nothing at all wrong with someone who acknowledges that someone or something is too much work for them.
@@princezzpuffypants6287 Still, it shows that they didn't think about it enough. Adopting an animal, especially with special needs, is a big deal ! You have to think the impact on the dog to be return...
I'm grateful the people realized that it wasn't a good fit so quickly, and they did the right thing. They could have dumped her or taken her to the shelter, but they called someone who loves her and who would absolutely take the best care of her. This is why people should not just adopt on a whim if they are not ready to put in time to care for an animal.
You are absolutely right. Who knows what trauma this poor pup suffered and ANY dog or cat needs time to acclimate and adjust. I'm so happy she's with a loving, safe home. Sadly we live in such a disposable world. Don't like something, return it. Blessings to all who give of themselves selflessly to make a difference for these animals to be saved and loved. Love transforms us all.
I applaud you all. 👏👏👏👏❤❤❤🐾
Not just adoption either obviously, just getting an animal in general.
You are absolutely right. Ive fostered many, many dogs. When speaking with a potential adopter, I am as honest as possible about the dog, their quirks, strengths, things they need to work on etc.
I want to make sure the adopter and the dog fit well with each other. For instance, a dog like Chips would only go to a quiet household with people who are experienced working with fearful dogs and with reward based training backgrounds.
No younger kids, no busy lifestyle with people coming and going constantly and any other pets (sometimes another pet is the perfect thing to bring a fearful dog out of their shell) would have to be well matched personality wise.
Even then, sometimes I see people get starry eyed over a potential dog regardless of how well that dog would fit in their life, or they havent really any thought into the 10-15 year commitment of time, resources, and emotion owning a dog requires.
I so agree with your statement. Also, some people don't know the first thing about dogs & they go and adopt or worse purchase a dog for the status they can provide. However. They don't exercise, socialize or play with the dog or even clean up after the dog. Then they complain about the dog misbehaving when in fact, it is they who are failures for not providing the care that a dog needs.
@@childofcascadia First if all, bless you! I give you such love and support. This is a gift to all of us...a caring person who's in it for right reasons and caring. God bless you. I got a german shepherd when he was about 1 year old that had never been well socialized and he was that scared, always hiding or looking for a hiding place. I figured out that if I laid down flat on the floor, he would come over and let me talk to him and pet him. Soon he slept in the bed with me resting his enormous head on my chest, and loved spooning with me and my other gsd. He was the sweetest dog ever. I miss him so much.
Can’t tell you how much that made me so happy to know he has his foster family as a forever family - he chose well! Thank you for all you did to get him to be the dog he is now

She is where she is supposed to be. You are not a failure, you and Brendan are the best! Love from India!!!!
I second this comment!
The term "foster failure" is actually a positive thing! It means that, as a foster, she fell in love with the dog and decided to adopt her. :) It's a term that dog/cat foster parents use.
glad she had a place to come back to. Giver her some lovin' from me.
This is exactly where Chips is meant to be. This is not a foster fail; it is an adoption success! Bless you and your husband for the love and patience you showered on Chips.💞
the best feeling is seeing how far they come when they start out like this. Our little girl was so scared, hid in the corner, wouldn't walk on our floor for months... we just gave her time and space. Even tho lots of things still scare her, we have just learned how to pivot and adjust. But she's just so full of love when she's at home where she is the most comfortable. People want this Instagramable dog and that just doesn't happen with adoption all the time. I am glad this dog ended up with people who cared enough to give Chips time and patience.
It's not a failure, but a success any time a dog gets a loving home.
Hey
You are right- The best Failure is a Foster Fail for a dog that needs so much love, care and attention. Chips got the home she so deserved the 2nd time around.
"She can have all the socks she wants"... 😄.
And, finally, you both gave her your heart ❤.
I know this video is about a pup but my cat was returned TWO times before I adopted her 😢 it broke my heart how scared she was probably thinking she would leave the shelter just to go back again. She is the sweetest cat, she just needed patience for her full personality to come out ❤ so thankful for foster and adopters that are willing to put in the work when adopting a pet! It isn’t a game, it isn’t something to have, its a life and a commitment to make it a part of your family. If you are not serious or understand that many animals need patience because of what they have gone through then get a fish or a toy that barks.
Thank you for keeping her and giving her a good lifec
I’m glad they decided to keep her. Remember the three 3’s. 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to realize this might be forever, 3 months to feel like this is home. To return after 2 days those people don’t deserve a dog!
It's just awful how scared Chips was in the beginning. Breaks my heart to think of the life prior to you. I'm so happy you were there and able to rescue this precious pup.
It brakes my heart too...... Some individuals could be so despicable!!!!!
Love you!
May you be blessed with your kindness...
We fostered a pup just like Chips. His name is Houdini, he escaped the euthanasia handler at the shelter, then escaped into the parking lot. He ended up back at the shelter a month later. K9 Spirit rescued him then brought him to us. Houdini was super sketchy, they can only assume he was a stray most of his life. It took him about 3 months before he trusted us. I would say about 1 year before he was a part of our pack. He's been with us for almost 6 years now, and he's not going anywhere.
We fostered easily in total about 30-40 different dogs over 7 years. For some of them that came from a kill shelter, when I saw them finally relax, I could see a relief from them like they haven't slept for days. We all know dogs can sense death, and when its close, so when they get rescued and get to a safe foster home they know its going to be okay. Nothing has ever been more rewarding than fostering dogs. Yes. Your heart breaks when you adopt them out, but they are alive, and a broken heart can heal, and love again. That is much easier than being trapped in a kennel, alone, unloved, then being put to death because your time is up. Be an amazing human and foster if you can. Many rescues who are well funded provide food, bowls and cover veterinary bills too, so you're just giving your home and your heart.
Omg, that's so sweet❤🤗 and I can't believe kill shelters are a thing 😫
@@noora4167 Ya they are like rarely common in our country India. When the dog is not being adopted, the people at the shelter do mercy killing by some gas
Well said!
I'm trying to see if I can start fostering as well but I have to clear with my apartment manager and then I'm good. I would love to give them a safe home until they find their permanent home.
@@ritacheatham9048 My fingers And toes are crossed in that your apartment manager says YES! May God Bless You Always! 🤞👍❤🥰💖

I'm so glad you kept her and gave her your forever home. She is a cute dog too, and so sweet.. Bless you for keeping her!
She's cute? I'm a minute and a half in and barely know what the dog even looks like. The foster mom is taking up 90% of the screen in almost every shot 🙄
Yaaaay! He's where he belongs. I can't stop smiling. Thank you for putting the dogs needs first. ❤😊
She is the biggest sweetheart of a dog and she really deserves to your dog. She was home all along.
I'm glad she was returned! Those people did not deserve her!! Now she & you both got what you deserved!!! Love!! Be Happy!
Nope! Sorry but if all one is willing to put in to a rescued pet is 2 days then they cop out then that tells me they are not legit pet people because even a dog raised from a new born pup is 11 to 15+ years of your time and effort. I have 3 dogs and all are rescued dogs when they were less than a year old. 1 is originally mine and the other two dogs I inherited by way of my brother's passing and my Mother's passing. I am single and hold a steady job from moving till evening and take all 3 dogs a good walk 4 to 6 days a week depending if the weather is good. I alone pay all their vet bills. It's a lot of work but I would never give them up because saying oh they are too much work. So from my point of view from a single Man with 3 dogs, if you're not willing to commit to a pet, then don't even consider it. Too many of my fellow Americans have become too darn selfish and physically lazy to put work in o a pet.
@@roberttimothy1338 very true. If you don’t want to put in the work, don’t adopt a dog.
I'm so glad this was a foster fail! She wouldn't open up to anyone else like she did the people that made time for her.
After being adopted from her fosters she realized You were her true love and family. So happy you adopted this sweet baby, see looks so Happy!
I'm a Chips A Hoy as a 42 year old human. I understand that stability and consistency are huge factors of recovery. Bless you both.
She is so cute. I’m actually glad the other person returned her. She needs, loves, and trusts you and your husband. She was meant to be yours. Thank you for not giving up on that sweet baby. Happy life to you all. 😁😘
Hey
She wanted u 2 . She learned to trust u & Brenden & she picked u as her fur everhome. She’s so dang adorable. Who couldn’t resist those little sad eyes
Thank you for giving her a home to put her at ease.
New dogs take time! Our amazing rescue girl was sooo nervous, and followed me EVERYWHERE for days. I felt like I had a newborn baby. One day I just lay on the couch with her ALL DAY LONG. Wrapped in blankies. Like 16 hours. I watched movies, ordered all our Christmas gifts, and did email. She looked into my eyes the entire time. I spent a few more days like that with her, mostly on the couch. Being very still and giving her rubs when she would accept them. FINALLY she relaxed. She's been a fantastic dog for 5 years now, just the best little girl. They need time and devotion and a calm person to learn to rely on! Yaaye for Chips!!!
Imagine the hell and fear Chips felt during those 2 days, she would have been terrified at the other house starting all over again !! Thank god u kept her 🙏
Yes! They could have chosen to put her through another adoption, making sure they would give her enough time to trust and relax, but why do that since her trust issues were so severe and she is with the family she is comfortable with. They made the right decision.
You did an excellent job on bringing out her personality. She’s adorable and you are blessed to have her. She’s totally safe and loved .
What did people do to her to make her feel so scared. Thank God for you!
Such a good dog, my rescue jack Russell was the same until he realise we have love food and shelter to offer
That TLC, food, and shelter 💗💗💓💓.
Lol frfr. My pitty was the same way. Now she's such a happy dog
Everything happens for a reason that's why she's yours such a beautiful dog.
Unbelievable, two days. She's such a sweet dog who must have been through a horrendous time to have been so scared. Bless you for saving her ❤❤
I adopted a senior dog (8 years) with a history of neglect and abuse. I've tried to show him that he is loved, he is safe, and he is home. It hurts my heart that someone hurt this gentle soul. Last night while I was scratching his head, he rolled on his back, showed me his belly, closed his eyes and feel asleep. We have some work to do, but I think we're getting there.
Julie seems like such a gentle and caring person. It's nice to see.
I bet Chips Ahoy was ecstatic to be back with these wonderful people where she belong 😭❤🙏👍
I sobbed throughout this whole video! Seeing sweet Chips Ahoy so sad, then finally get attached, then be returned, broke my heart to pieces, but the moment she began, trusting you, I knew she belonged with you, so I was so glad when she came back to you, I was praying, you'd realize she was meant to be your girl, and you did, and I'm so happy for you and your sweet girl, Chips Ahoy! She's so precious & 2c her sad, brown eyes, sparkle with joy, 💖, & above all, trust had me sobbing! May God bless your beautiful home, with this beautiful little girl, and may she have a long, happy, healthy, and joyous life, as she deserves, and I know you will give her! Thank you for sharing your beautiful story!🥰💖😘🐶🐶🎉🎁✨🌟💫🥳🎈🐶🎉🎁🐶🐶🐶💖🕊️ Love from me & my precious babies 😺😺😺😺😺😺2 your's 💖🐶✨🥳🌟🎈💫🌈🐶🎉🐶🎁🙏💖😺🐶🥰🕊️🌈
From the first look at her face and hearing your voice, I was praying for a foster fail. My prayer was answered!
It’s only natural to bond with people who are kind and good, have patience and love. Glad Chips is now with a permanent family, the couple he bonded with and learned to trust.
The way she looks at you says it all- you saved her. So precious.
I am happy you kept Chips Ahoy and give her so much love. She is too cute and sweet. She reminds me of my first pet dog - that was a very long time ago.
I adopted a psychotic runty pug that came from a severe abuse and neglect situation. He did the same thing when I first got him, with the hiding and wanting nothing to do with anyone, including me. I am pretty sure that nobody had ever been kind to him or pet/held him with love. I would have to bribe him out from under the bed with food to potty him, and if you tried to touch him he would act like he may attack/bite you. He also did not like any other dogs at all, and was terrified of them. He is very small for full grown and will always be very small due to malnutrition when young, he is an adult but still looks puppy sized.
Today he is so attached to me he is like a piece of living velcro, and he goes everywhere with me 24/7. He also accepts and likes other people once he slowly gets used to them, and has several other people he is now friends with. He picked my new boyfriend for me by causing me to notice him due to him being the ONLY guy he immediately liked and curled up next to, which caused us to meet and talk. We have been dating a few months now and he's a great guy.
I knew he was really afraid of dogs because he'd been attacked by one regularly in his old home, so it shocked me when he became besties with my neighbor's enormous pitbull. She is a super calm and sweet dog and even though huge was so passive when he met her he wasn't afraid and she let him take his time sniffing and warming up to her. Now he will grab ahold of her leash and walk her around like she is HIS dog, and it is hysterical to see this tiny pug leading the giant pitty around. They sometimes play tug of war with each other's leashes, or just cuddle or play wrestle. She is so gentle with him and they are so funny together.
The reason that I call him psychotic (lol) is that he is VERY protective of me now. I think he is terrified that something will happen to me and he visibly guards me if he thinks anything is the slightest bit off. He will also get his hackles up and snarl and bark at someone like he thinks he is a Doberman if he thinks they are posing any threat to me. I am working on breaking him of this and teaching him that I can take care of myself and don't need to be guarded by a 12 lb runty pug, but it is a bit funny and touching that he cares so much in the meantime.
You're not a failure. I give you an A+! Chips Ahoy was skittish in the beginning, but once he realized he was safe in your home, he came out of his shell. You were very patient with him which was what he needed. I'm so glad you adopted him and will provide him with the life and love he needs. ❤️
In the fostering circle, being a foster fail is a positive comment. It just means that you failed at placing them with someone else it doesn’t mean that you’re a failure. Very few fostering families don’t have at least one “failure” out of their time at fostering.
A "Foster Fail" is a good term, not a negative one. It means you failed at just being a foster family, but instead ended up loving the dog so much that you adopted it. It's a term of endearment, and one I'm always happy to hear.
It is SO PRECIOUS to see the light in her eyes, now that she's found someone and somewhere she can trust. Great job, you guys!!!!! God bless you all :)
Not every potential adopter is equipped with the compassion, patience, and love that a dog like this needs. I adopted a mostly blind senior mini-poodle 2 years ago. It has been a long journey of recovery for her but we are constant companions now and she has brought me so much joy. She is now fully blind with her eyes removed due to glaucoma. But her spirit is so strong. She is full of waggle-tails and visits neighbors spreading her love throughout the neighborhood.
