Nothing can touch HBs Fusion/ pros series playability for twice the price.

Thanks for this straight fwd positive review that I missed at the time, Mark, however it popping up in my feed just led me to subscribing to your interesting channel. Bought mine this summer largely based on Jonathan Koh's reviews, he's based in Singapore & the Fusion-T is now one of his fav guitars esp for live gigs, he has several videos on it you might enjoy. Only mod he made was swapping the Wilkinson to the VegaTrem which he's very happy with.

    • @MarkZabel
      @MarkZabel  Před 3 lety +2

I've seen Jonathan's video. Really nice. I like his videos. Personally, I really like the Wilkinson trem it came with. One of the few trems I actually use. I usually block off my trems.
I'm still shocked at how nice the guitar is! Hope you're enjoying yours too!! And thanks for subbing!

Just ordered one. It was the quickest ever. On reverb. As soon as I saw it 2 others had it their cart. Has only a tiny ding in back. I didnt care. So...Now to hope it survives Ca to Ga. I paid what I guess these cost with the taxes and shipping 406.

Mark, although the humbuckers sound good as humbuckers, my ears slightly prefer them as split. I have the cst-24t and I think the humbuckers are really close to the ones you have except mine or uncovered. With the cover they found a slight bit warmer

    • @MarkZabel
      @MarkZabel  Před 4 lety

I like the splits too Mike. I've read that taking off the cover will brighten humbuckers, but I've always preferred the look of a cover.

really solid review man. Thanks very much. for the video.
I specially liked the clean sound with both pickUPs in split coid position, although i am more of a Humbucker guy..
I am looking for a multifaceted guitar .. for clean sounds and crunch..
I play a lot of PostRock stuff and jazzy bossanova stuff.. and this guitar would be bound together with a Ibanez SG Prestige 7 strings..that normally is used for high gain stuff.
Have you got any suggestions ?
I've been trying to choose between this one and a couple of other tele style HarleyBentons _ the TE-90QM HH (semihollow with 2x HAF alnico5 humbuckers) , the TE-90FLT VW Deluxe (with 2x FLT-NI Alnico humbuckers) ,
And a 335-like body -> Harley Benton HB-35 BK Vintage Series..which has imo, really cool clean sounds.. but not has great.. with more dirty stuff.
    Not as much sustain either.
    What do you reckon ?
    Thanks very much
    Cheers from Portugal

Hi. I can't comment on the others so much, except ... that I have 3 other Harley Bentons - so 4 in total. Of the 4, this is my favorite primarily because of its versatility and super-comfortable neck (and great features too, like the stainless steel frets, locking tuners, and fly-wheel truss rod). BTW, that TE-90 QM HH looks killer, and I love 335 style guitars, but I think you're right in this case. (My main guitar is a 1981 Gibson 335 I bought when I was 16.)
But, for the record here's what I have.
      1. Fusion-T HH. (The guitar in the video here.)
Fusion II HH SSP. This is similar to the Fusion-T HH. Of the two, I prefer the Fusion-T.
      2. SSC 550 (Les Paul, but chambered). It's a great guitar, but it won't do some of the funky clean sounds you can get with the split coils. (Just 2 regular humbuckers. The chambering lightens the guitar and it's a bit more open sounding than a standard LP)
      3. VT series Strat style. Maybe ST-62cc. Amazing Strat copy. I actually prefer it to my American made Strat and I paid $160 for it. Incredible. BUT ... I don't think it makes sense for you given your style and also your preference for humbuckers.
I think this guitar would probably be most versatile for you. The TE-90 would probably work. Also, Harley Benton makes the Fusion-T with Rosewood fingerboard for about $100 cheaper than this. It still has the same pickups and electronics and locking tuners (either with or without the whammy) and stainless steel frets. I was actually thinking of picking up a 2nd one!! :)
Good luck! I have become a Harley Benton fan in the past 1.5 years. So far, I've been 100% happy with each guitar I have received.

      @@MarkZabel Damn ;) !
What an honest and thorough reply Mark.
      Thanks very very much.
Honestly, i had thought about actually ordering the 335-like HB
      AND
      the non-roasted Fusion-T, hehe.. ,
in order to compare them, and keep the one i like best.
If the TE-90 QM HH had the split coils, i reckon i'd go for that one.. but as it stands, i'm still in doubt.
Plus.. i havent tried either of them...so i might talking specs & features.. and end up going with the one that just feels best.. It'd make more sense, i reckon.. ;)
As for the SC 550, I must say i usually love the sound of the Les Paul traditional humbuckers..but the neck-feel on those guitars are somewhat not as my-thing as the 335s that ive played or the more slim C neck telies.. although they end up being the same design approach. Maybe the hollowed chamber will make it more 335-like.
The SC-Custom II actually also features the split coil .
      (this is endless... )
In the end.. hehehe.. again, thank you for your feedback.
I'll either order the rosewood Fusion T, or TE-90 QM HH and mod to get split coils.. or, just go for a 2 guitar combo _ sth like :
      . HB-35 BK Vintage Series + TE-90 QM HH
      . Fusion-T (Rosewood) + SC-Custom II
      (Cheers from Portugal)

hey!!! I was ordered the latest FNT model in stock (in hardtail)! for 250 in b stock; and already own a charvel and a custom fender telecaster I can tell you that this guitar has an excellent level of finish and after a good adjustment and having installed two Seymour Duncans it is today my favorite telecaster.. as well in playing comfort with its magnificent handle and its seductive look. for this price I don't understand how this is possible? just the individual parts are worth more than the whole.///

@@MarkZabel Hi Mark, great wee review of a lovely guitar. I have just ordered one. I do have the Fusion T HH EB OCT ( the Ocean Turquoise version ) with an ebony fretboard and I love it so much I had to grab the roasted maple version. I wish folk would realise that a heck of a lot of the sound of an electric guitar depends upon many variables. Pickups can be altered an awful lot with height adjustments / the whole pickup as well as individual poles - and a huge factor is what amp the guitar is being played through .... then there are the settings on the amp .... and pedals etc. Far too many people make a rash decision and swap out pickups without ever experimenting with them to get their desired sounds. This is a great video :czcams.com/video/vX_07BJeYaA/video.html . I have 3 Harley Benton electric guitars, all with different Roswell pickups and I really can not fault any of them. Pickups never really warrant the extortionate price some of the big brands charge. They are not hugely complex things and even the boutique ones are put together with parts costing no more than about £10 ( UK ) ..... I am looking forward to the arrival of my new HB Fusion T. As you say, they are amazing instruments for the price point. Have a great weekend. Pete x
