Speaking of lovely super simple bourbon cocktails, you can't forget the Brown Derby. Bourbon, honey syrup, and grapefruit juice, plus I like to give it some grapefruit zest, as the zest is actually very spicy and and sweet versus the juice which is tart and slightly bitter.... fabulous cocktail.

I also do my Boulevardier in a 2:1:1 ratio. Amazing cocktail. I made myself a Gold Rush last week, another of my favourites.

Gold Rush is my fav. I'm also all about simple. Any cocktail with simple syrup/honey syrup, lemon/lime/orange, bitters, and bourbon or rye whiskey does it for me.

I've been drinking lime Gold Rush for a while. We call it the Honey Bourbon
Orange does indeed go very well with bourbon. I especially like my boulevardier with a dash of orange bitters.
Btw, I thought a flip was just switching the egg white for the yoke?

i've got a recipe, it's called the new fashioned:
50 ml bourbon
2 teaspoons fig jam
1 sprig rosemary
add ice
shake & strain it into a rocks glass full of ice
garnish it with a sprig of rosemary and enjoy!
"Gold Rush" is "Bee's Knees" sub Gin with Bourbon....
Or a Canchánchara, but without Rum ;)
For a cold we Add the last one to a cup of hot tea .. just what the doctor ordered
I found a recipe online for an awesome bourbon coctail, the Scofflaw!
I changed the ratios a bit, the one I found was very heavy on bourbon (some might like that more).
It's 5cl of your bourbon or rye of choice.
2cl of dry vermouth
2cl lemon juice
2cl grenadine
4-6 drops (basically a dash) of orange bitters.
Shaken and strained into a glass. (can be served on ice)
and squeeze an orange peel over and drop in.
I know it well, I named my business after it! :-)

As always, great video Bonneville! HOWEVER... Your Ward 8 cocktail is missing the orange juice. The recipe in the video is essentially a Bourbon Daisy (a sour sweetened with grenadine). The Ward 8 is whiskey (traditionally rye since it was 1898), lemon, orange juice and grenadine.
Great video as always. Is your grenadine homemade or bought? Looks a bit bright for homemade, but i could be wrong.
