Hey guys quick edit at 10:54 I say it comes in at 93% but obviously meant to say “proof” which makes more sense. It twas a slip o the tongue we didn’t catch while editing. More specifically, I didn’t catch it. But it was brought to my attention so...in the interest of being accurate...
The Bourbon Renewal is no-joke one of my favorite home cocktails of the last year that I'm still making pretty regularly - so thanks for popping that lil fella up on my radar back a bit ago.
The Bourbon Renewal is what got me introduced to bourbon and inspired me to branch out into the world of bourbon (neeeeeever been a whiskey fan before) and now I can't get enough of the bourbon cocktails. I even found a brand of bourbon that I can sip neat. Beautiful drink. And if you add some Allspice Dram and a little lime juice you have a mix of a Bourbon Renewal and a Lion's Tail and holy Moses is THAT a great drink... 👌🥃
Thank you for doing this type of video (10 easy vodka, 5 favourite bourbon...). When the world is back to normal, I plan on having 'cocktail evenings', using one spirit per night. Having these great recipes (with demo on how to make) will make my preparation so easy. Thanks again ! Great content.
That is a gorgeous color on that avocado orgeat. I’ve never seen that before. I will be trying it out. Thanks for sharing! Also those recipes all sound delicious, but the Kentucky mai tai takes the cake!
The Paper Plane looks stunning, what a colour from the Aperol, Bourbon and Amaro! Nice tasting notes on the bourbon in the description also, sold on the Off Hours!
These are terrific bourbon cocktails!! I love your creation, Leandro! It is definitely on my must make list! The bourbon smash looks wonderful, with the lemon wedges, poured right in to the glass, and I always adore the Paper Plane - truly so delicious!! This Bourbon sounds delightful, and I will give it a try, if I can find it in Vancouver! Awesome video. Thanks so much!! :-)
Bourbon Smash is the BEST whiskey drink I have ever had! Never liked the distinct taste of any kinds of whiskey, but this drink is far beyond my imagination. So THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Lots of Love from Taiwan~
We were out of lemon one day a few years ago, so made the paper plane with lime juice and have never looked back. We call it the avión limón. Totally better than lemon.
Dammit! Watching this, I just realized that when I made myself a cocktail last night with mint garnish, I totally forgot to give it the slappy poo, crushy pants!
Question about the orgeat: would it be easier to steep the pits in water and make a "pit milk" (gross term) and then add sugar *after* straining? Or does the sugar need to be in there for the infusion?
Did any one else notice him mention the ice at the first cocktail, continues to shake, ice sticking out over top of glass slowing destroying him inside. Cocktail pour, ice reshaped to perfection. Ahh I would love to drink one of the cocktails you make man.
Great news, grabbed the Havana Club.....now need to figure out how to get it to you. Could not find Pueblo Viejo in PV, but learned they have it at Bitters & Bottles up here by me! 😁 Do you like the Blanca, Reposado, or Añejo for the cocktail(s) you like to make with it?
I don’t drink, with the exception of the occasional cocktail. However, I am interested in learning about cocktails and learning how to make cocktail versions, so this channel has been super helpful in learning how cocktails are made and what makes them unique.
So I'm recovering from a tonsillectomy. That means I'm all jacked up on hydrocodone and liquid ibuprofen. When you did the double shake (@ 5:40 ) I legit couldnt decide if I was seeing double again or if it was a special effect.

Barfly, Those five drinks are all hits with my flavor palette. I'm very new to this and just recently realized I like Bourbon or Rye cocktails. Outside of advertising for the Off Hours Bourbon, what do you think goes better with these drinks; a Rye, Bourbon or Whiskey? Any Personal favorites that are going to allow the drink to be well balanced and not just alcohol?
For the Kentucky buck I couldn’t get my hands on ginger syrup and bought a bottle of domaine de canton instead, is this a suitable stand in or am I missing out? It has been a favorite so far.
Let's rename this video - "Compilation of Creepy Face While Shaking My 5 Favorite Bourbon Cocktails." Just kidding. Great video. Can't wait to try these.

A while ago you had said that the aviation used to be something of a "bartender's handshake." Are there any cocktails today that you would still consider a bartender's handshake?
Hey Leandro! Party question - Let's say you wanted to mix up a batch of Paper Planes for a get together. Any problem with combining the lemon juice and spirits in a large container and just shaking with ice on a per glass basis on demand? Would the lemon juice change in flavor over the course of a few hours?
Before this, I just assumed that avocado pits were toxic. Hope you're feeling okay after this! 😂 The Angeleno sounds great, but I still only know of 3 recipes for it (all from your channel). Maybe I'll pick some up after I learn a few more!
The avocado seed is encased in a hard shell and comprises 13-18% of the size of the whole fruit. Information about its composition is limited, but it does contain a good range of fatty acids, dietary fiber, carbs and a small amount of protein. The seed is also considered to be a rich source of phytochemicals, including substances that plants produce to protect themselves. While some of the phytochemicals in an avocado seed may have antioxidant potential, others may not offer any health benefits The carbs in an avocado seed consist mainly of starch, with its dry weight being nearly 75% starch. Starch is made up of a long chain of sugars, and researchers have begun to investigate its potential use in food products
Hi Leandro, I’m in Mexico for my first trip since COVID and planning to bring back a few hard to find spirits in the U.S. My FIRST pick is Havana Club 3&7 year Rum! Viva La 🇨🇺 Cuba! LOL What else would you recommend I look for while here and is there anything I can get you? You have transformed me over 2020 and my passion to make beautiful cocktails as a home mixologist! ☺️
hey thanks! I wouldn't say no to a bottle of Havana club! Make sure to pick up some pueblo Viejo tequila while your there, it' shard to find in the states and one of my favorites for making cocktails. Super good quality, low price.
I had read before that avocado pits have cyanide in them and are not recommended to consume - is part of the cooking process removing that or do you have any particular comments on that topic?
love the vid! this is the tiniest of nitpicks, but in the description it says "...Non Distilling Producer which sources it's bourbon from MGP..." when it should read "sources ITS bourbon from MGP". there is no apostrophe in the possessive form of "its".
Great video 😁, it would be interesting to do a blind taste test to see whether the average customer can tell when there is a small amount of bitters in a cocktail, I always go heavy on bitters in drinks as I just feel that when a recipe calls for one dash and has a full 35ml spirit, 15 ml fruit juice and another modifier in it the bitters flavour will be imperceptible to most palates.
Great work guys. I love your content. Coming from a place of love and constructive content, fitting this many cocktails into 11 minutes feels really rushed. Especially the cutting of the video during mixing. Just one humble fan's feedback. Keep up the great work!

Question:
Don't the strawberries absorbe some of the liquor?
possibly over time but I don't think that would have too dramatic an effect on the cocktail but that is something that would need to be tested.
@@TheEducatedBarfly possibly just by taste testing the strawberries them selves? I'm a pulp kind of person, so I probably would just leave it.
